Facilitator's Training Workshops

We would love to travel to each and every one of the Episcopal Camps and Conference Centers nationwide to lead these future-planning workshops, but it's just not financially feasible. But we can train you to bring the process to your own center. Join us for one of two Facilitator's Training workshops this coming March:

Camp Galilee (Lake Tahoe, NV): March 12-14, 2013 Dayspring Center (Tampa, FL): March 19-21, 2013

In this three-day training, participants will go through the planning process themselves, with in-depth insight into each step along the way. You'll leave with the background and know-how to lead your own staff or board through the process, and get dozens of new ideas for what to offer/how to operate 5-10 years in the future.

Peter Bergstrom & Ashley Graham-Wilcox from Episcopal Camps & Conference Centers, Inc. led Building the Continuum Workshops with Procter Center, Sheldon Calvary Camp and Waycross Camp & Conference Center. Over 30 participants brainstormed ideas for how their centers and camps can thrive in the future, with consideration of technology, community and the world's engagement with the mission and tradition of the Episcopal Church.

Upcoming Workshop: January 2013

We'll be offering a half-day workshop at the ECCC Annual Conference. This workshop will bring you up to speed on the progress made since November 2011's kick-off summit, and begin preparing camp/conference center directors and their staffs to facilitate a future planning process for their own camp or conference center.

Who Should Attend a Workshop?

Right now, Building the Continuum workshops are focused on helping camps and conference centers focus on the future. To that end, the camp/conference center's Director must attend any workshop we offer. Who else should be invited?

Camp's program director or other staff person(s) involved in designing and implementing new programs;

One or two board members involved with the camp/conference center program;

Creative and effective leaders on the diocesan or parish level who are having success with youth, young adult, family and/or older adult ministries;

Where possible, any person whose approval would be needed in order to move forward with new plans.
