food allergies are so fun bcuz you can get in a state for months where you're fine and you kinda forget about the life threatening condition thing and yknow you almost buy into the "haha cant eat peanut butter" thing n start to feel embarrassed asking for accommodations until something hits you out of the blue like ok sorry for trying new things I'm going to the hospital! my allergies aren't super severe but people need to get more serious about food allergies now. cause not only do they lock you out of cultural experiences (breaking bread with people, branching out into different dishes/cuisines, going to new places) and come with some stigma, but companies generally dgaf about keeping things clean. but it's weird to talk about in the lens of like marginalization and justice because its a food allergy. and its like, we could so easily make it a non issue. you can't like solve racism or misogyny by pressing the antibigotry button but if we had some solid food manufacturing regulations with good enforcement we could solve like 90% of the problem. but thats not "profitable." its enough to drive one mad.
