my characterization of Jekyll and Hyde is that yeah he’s the same guy, but Jekyll is so disgusted by the idea that he has completely separated that part of himself (at the beginning) so it really feels like they’re different people. And Hyde isn’t super insisted that “I am you!” And “we are the same” Hyde’s actually almost more disgusted at the idea of being Jekyll, because even as Hyde he hasthe subconscious mindset of Jekyll, ‘if that little hairy guy is me then I am the little hairy guy and vice versa’
