Ivakir had an inner struggle. On the one hand she wanted to go away, forget about the reward, which, obviously, she won’t receive for her work (carry the dying girl on her fragile shoulders - it was a hard work!).

A light breeze blew Ivakir’s baggy clothes, on which Cademya’s blood began to cool. She stood as if waiting for some sign, which could help her to decide what to do next. Her gaze fell on a rope, which fluttered in the breeze and looked like a snake. Wasn’t it a sign?

Behind him, the elder and two girls were moving quickly. Already one had pushed a needle into both her own and Cademya’s arm, the narrow tube between red with vibrant blood. The other was bringing forward tools -- an old saw that seemed somewhat charred, as though it’d been sterilized in fire, a crate of strips of faded old fabric, and two pales of water.

It was late and it was absolutely pouring. Bug had just slid into the back seat of the cab whe he noticed a figure standing at the curb with their hood pulled up against the rain. Hesitating for a moment before rolling the window. Lord, he was too nice for his own good sometimes, he thought.

The first time her phone buzzed the next morning she smacked it, intending to snooze the alarm. Unfortunately it was not an alarm, but Bug’s text; in response to his morning greeting he got a lovely: Bbgiwyq

A few moments later her alarm went off and, confused, she sat up. It took a long moment to make sense of what had just happened, but as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes and inspected her phone… [½] Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry! I thought you were my alarm and I just touched the screen without checking! If I’d known it was your text I would have actually respo [2/2]nded properly!

Yeah! It’s a few blocks from my place. I can give you the address and we can meet there, or you can meet me at my place and we can walk.

It’s exams. Final projects. End of the session. It’s hard, just remember. Stay at it! Work hard! You are shiny and chrome!

Most importantly, you are not alone! There are tons of people who are suffering through the same thing, and your anxieties are totally validated. It doesn’t matter if you procrastinated or your profs just gave short deadlines, we’re all in this together!

Iv looked down at her feet and continued to mumble an apology, like crazy, not really knowing where to go. It seemed, that the world became her personal hell - she had to carry the wounded girl on her shoulders and feel the pangs of conscience. And it will never end.

However, when she heard a shout from somewhere above, Ivakir stopped her apologetic mantra and raised her head. If there was an enemy, then Iv would have had difficulties. Fortunately, the man, who quickly came to them, was not the enemy, but probably Cademya’s friend.

At some point Iv thought, that she will be executed by Cademya’s family. She clearly didn’t want to end this day and her life like this. Although, if you think about it, Ivakir fully deserved the death penalty for what she was trying to do just a moment ago.

You are so nice, but you have shitty friends. You could even say thank you.

The traveler was about to go, but then she remembered about the reward. These both, they really were going to be so ungrateful and don’t pay her?

But also there was another question - how Ivakir could thinking about a reward, when she almost killed the poor girl?

“How about your life!” he called back up before entirely vanishing into one of the many caves in the cliff-face, swinging in and quickly setting Cademya down. The elder and two young women who had been in the cave rushed over with sounds of distress and concern, assessing their “sister’s” condition. Soon the elder was barking orders, instructing the younger women to gather supplies as he began twisting a tourniquet around the upper thigh of the damaged leg -- he recognized that there was no saving the limb, at this point, and Bow found himself unable to do anything other than glare furiously towards the entrance of the cave...

Warboys are terrified of going out soft. We know from the scene with Capable that even Nux knows he doesn’t have much time left. So when Slit walks by with his wheel, and he’s sitting there weak and getting the blood transfusion he needs, “going out soft” is probably among the first thoughts in his head. Being replaceable. And for a warboy, I imagine that’s a really scary thought. I mean think about it, it’s like the only scene we see where Nux actually gets angry. Sure he gets passionate (the storm, the final crash, etc) but we don’t see him at any other point shouting or lashing out.

And Ivakir really stopped, obeying her inner voice, which wasn’t the voice of reason. In the current situation she should hurry, but Iv lowered the girl down and touched her forehead. 

The canyon was so close … Where was her family?

What Ivakir was going to do, it was a necessary measure. She could leave Cademya to die, but it was too cruel. Most present evil was not what she was going to do, but make the poor girl suffer, when she was one foot in the grave.

“What a pity. She is so beautiful,” - Iv thought, running a hand through girl’s hair. The traveler pulled out of its sheath the sword and ran her hand over almost rusted blade. Not even a sword, but a piece of metal. How many people she saved with this “sword” from the torment. But send a half-dead person walking under the stars wasn’t a murder. It was a noble deed, and for the dying one - the liberation. No more torture, no more pain…

“Cade-- Cademya!” A male voice echoed from over the lip of the canyon. Twilight was setting in and people had started to worry. It was Cademya’s night to take care of the kids, and entirely unlike her to not show up for duty. Bow had just been climbing up, expecting to see a lone figure approaching the canyon -- not the silhouette of Ivakir carrying Cademya on her back. He came running towards the pair, frantic with concern and confusion. By the time he reached the pair he had a make-shift dagger in hand, made from a jagged shard of rock, and was eying the small merchant with a dangerous glare.  “Put her down. What happened? Cade, you gotta-- oh no, what did you do Cade?” he was at his delirious friend’s side, inspecting the damage to her leg.

Iv would have said, that she was pleased to meet her, but now was clearly not a situation for exchanging courtesies. At first it was neccessary to carry the girl to a safe place. And, of course, take a pay for the services after that. “So what?” - shameless Ivakir will ask you with a sincere surprise, noticing your scowling look. Certainly, you needed to receive benefits from everything. Even from almost dying girl on her shoulders.

Ivakir slowly began to move toward the canyon, holding a girl on her fragile shoulders. She was too heavy for the thin trader, so Iv had to stop several times to make the break. And also bypass the traps that came across on the way.

Iv again stopped to rest, and looked to where she picked up a girl. Noticing, that she moved not so far away, Iv groaned in frustration and moved on.
