Engulfed in snow, Buffalo shows resilience

Buffalo’s impressive lake effect storm has made national attention this week. Articles like the one above by The Boston Globe help people understand why Buffalo is nicknamed “The City of Good Neighbors.” While the storm has been deadly with significant property damage there has been an overwhelming feeling of positivity by residents who are working together to help those in need. The article also mentions how New England would have lost power with only a fraction of the snowfall that largely kept Buffalo’s snowbound areas warm and lit. It also spends a significant time talking about Buffalo’s current renaissance, including such big ticket projects as the new Solar City plant and Terry Pegula’s Harborcenter.

While the national spotlight is currently on Buffalo, as we have a natural disaster of the sorts only this region could have, their focus is almost solely on the snow, and the impact of the snow on the region’s ability to go about our daily lives.
