Kanna and Sou’s relationship got off to a rocky start at first thats for sure. Sou manipulating her to help save his own ass in the first main game but…

in chapter two Sou appears to lose his memorys (later reviled to be a lie) and Kanna offers to watch over him and make sure he isnt doing shady shit and they start growing a cute relationship of helping each other out in the Sub-Game

as Sara you only see bits and pieces of their relationship but it seems a fair bit more heathy and similar to siblings (thus probably why the nickname greenblings came around at first) we see Sou’s new protectiveness for Kanna too. right here

the original message was meant to break Kanna even more. even a person who didn’t care about Kanna wouldn’t let her see it but he goes even further than that

he specifically changes it to one that would inspire her and fill her with hope.

now why is this?

well it all comes back to Sou Hiyori. the real Sou Hiyori, Midori. and Shin’s first trial.

Shin’s first trial was designed to psychologically corner him and force him to change his personality to survive.(this was probably his “helper” to balance out his 0.0% as Midori says people with low percentages got.) and because he sees himself as weak and going to get eaten alive by the strong, he trys to emulate the strong person that he knew that fucked him over, his old friend Sou Hiyori and takes on the name, assholishness and willingness to manipulate.

the reason he manipulates Kanna is he sees himself in her and feels he needs to take on the role of Midori to survive. seeing it through that lens makes a lot of the other things he does make more sense too. how he was distrustful of Sara because of her high percentage, seeing her as the Midori thats going to use the Shin-like Kanna. 

when he asks Kanna if she trusts him and she says yes hes SCARED. scared shes going to get hurt by him 

before the main game Sou thinks Kanna has the Sacrifice. he truly wants her to win

he thinks that if she does she’ll chose Sara over him

and he still trys his hardest to make everybody vote for her. even if it means she loses trust in him in the prosses

he does so much to not die but hes fully willing to do so, if it means shes going to live

and people still deny he cares about her somehow.

onto Kanna

shes shown to care about Sou to the point of wanting to sacrifice herself for him because she knows hes a good person deep down.

she sure isnt oblivious to the bad things hes done, thats for sure but she also knows he cared about her and remembers him fondly after death for giving her the strength to keep going, a shoulder to lean on, and a sacrifice of himself to keep her alive

Ranmaru and Keiji Parallels…and please note that this post touches sensitive topics

(Referring to this post I wrote, in which I drew parallels between Joe and Original Sou, and between Ranmaru and Keiji)

I admit that this is…tricky to talk about. Initially, I actually wrote a short paragraph about Ranmaru and Keiji but then I deleted it, because I realized that it would distract from all the other points I made in that post, and I didn’t want to do that. But here are my thoughts. And please hear me out.

If I remember correctly, Keiji refers to exploring somewhere with Sara as a “dangerous date”, and there are plenty more remarks of his that seem to have that same dark and gritty romantic tone you talk about. I think you do a spectacular job in your analysis capturing what his English flirty lines feel like to the player!

Hey friends, I know this is not in the theme of my blog, but I really need help. My Pakistani girlfriends father got killed by mafia IN FRONT OF HER because he tried to take back the land they took from him. My girlfriend was already very depressed before because her household is abusive, she was raped which she couldnt get help for and her country is awful and she endured a lot of suffering due to that (she was literally growing up with bombs falling on schools for example), but this really took it to the next level and it worries me and breaks my heart so much. My girlfriend is crushed, not just because of the trauma of having a family member killed in front of her, but because her father was supposed to sell the land so my girlfriend could fly to US for undergraduate studies. She was actually supposed to come last september but it got deferred due to corona, which felt like a good chance for her father to have extra time to get back the land and sell it. This was her whole future. She got a full ride scholarship in the same state Im in and she was SO happy we will finally be able to meet and love each other in real life and escape the poverty and horrible environment of her country. We were both hoping this would be her chance to start over and get the help she needs for depression and trauma she went through (theres much more to the story but I wont be revealing it for her privacy and safety). But with her fathers death her and her mother lost ALL of their property and money and now rely on her aunts husband for all income (they escaped to another city to her aunts where theyre safe for now). If she doesnt leave for university before september, shell probably be forced to marry a man (were lesbians), be raped by him so she could bear kids for him and slave away her life if she even lives through it because shes suicidal. Its absolutely horrible and traumatizing to live there, especially as a woman and especially if youre lgbt+. I cant stress enough how scared I am for her and what could be her life. Shes been there for me through thick and thin and was the reason I myself have gotten out of depression after years of having it. I cant bear the thought of losing her. Shes the most important person to me and the reason Im alive today. I love her like Ive never loved anyone and I need her to get safe and recover and get the education she worked so hard for 😟

Were hoping to get enough money for her flight and if that happens soon enough, food, phone memory card and other things shed need before she moves into the dorms in september (shes hoping to get a campus job afterwards). Ill have her stay with me until then, but Im poor and cant afford to cover her expenses. Also doctors visit because shes been raped before and since then has had pain and uncontrollable bladder issues which she should get checked and treated. Therapy too if possible, until she starts university (because shell be able to get university counseling once she starts), due to how dire her state is and how much shes been through. But its least important between other things. Im sorry for asking this of you. But thank you from the bottom of my heart if you decide to reblog, donate or help in any way.
