Idk why I always draw Bucky surprise-kissing people, but I have no regrets

Oh brother I know that feel. I’m gonna go long fic to novella to novel length so strap in. I have some other 6-8k ones in my bookmarks if you want ‘em!

1. Something Like Tremors At The Back of The Throat by @thisurlisblank​(14.2k) Rated E

This is actually the second in a series of fics, so read the one before and after, but this one is where everything kind of comes together and makes your heart hurt and WOW. Yeah just read all of it.

2. The Best of Men by @i-will-not-be-caged​ (14.4k) Rated E

I LOVE THIS FIC. Just read it because there’s something in it that I can’t reference without ruining its effect and it’s honestly so fun to read that way. Just know Steve is getting married and Sam and Bucky are in a fight for being the best man.

3. Kestrel in Distress by @bioloyg​ (aka: me) (17.5k) Rated E

Uh, I’ve promo’d this fic enough times that it’s probably annoying but I love it because Sam gets kidnapped and Bucky raises hell and I can’t wait to finish the accompany piece where you get to see just how much hell Bucky raises.

4. just flesh and blood exist by @softsams (28.6k) Rated E

Ah yes… a classic. I adore the way this fic is written and the turns it takes and the fucking zine that’s in it that makes everything so much more personal. Like - if you’re looking for something real that tackles both Sam and Bucky’s demons (in human format) then this will be a wonderful read for you.

5. Barnes & Wilson: SHIELD Agents by @unclesteeb (29.9k) Rated E

Confession time, this has been on my to read list for a while but because I am 1. busy and 2. my focus is nonexistent, I have yet to find the time to read it. BUT, I was around for the latter half of its creation and it’s action-packed, tense, and there’s a couple questions that keep you on the edge of your seat. SO! read it! Don’t be like me lmao.

6. My Autumn Touch of Gold by @bisexualbcky (76.5k) Rated E

Okay so… this is another wedding fic affectionately referred to as “Automatic Touch of Food.” This is also a big jump in word count from the previous ones lmao. No in between. Anyway, if you like break up/get back together visceral emotion shit then read away. This is actually the last part of a series, but you could read it as a stand alone. (But why would you when there’s a bunch of cool fic before it too).

I’m just imaging Bucky’s arms wrapped around a grumpy, pouting Sam telling him all these sweet things like “I love your size because it means you’re the perfect size to be my little spoon”

“Maybe I don’t wanna be the little spoon, maybe I wanna be the manly beefy big spoon :(”

“Sam Wilson we both know that’s a huge lie, you love being the little spoon”

- a realistic non-binary main character 

-high-school aus (not to compare myself to published authors obviously but if you like real-world YA novels this is my very imperfect attempt at one)

-a balance of angst and fluff and feels (so many feels!) and lots of family and friendship moments   

it has been fully edited, the first sequel (prequel, technically) is almost complete, and the giant sequel will hopefully start going up in march, so this is an excellent time to check it out.
