This tutorial will explain you how to start creating animations for Sims 4 using Blender.

1. Download Sims 4 Studio, S4PE & Blender

> Sims 4 Studio - Download (you need an account)

> S4PE - Download

> Blender 2.70a - Download (or other version Sims 4 Studio requires at the time)

2. Download Sims 4 Rigs

> Male Rig - Download

> Female RIg - Download

These sims rigs are from default stand posture animation. You can use any other animation if you know how to extract them. Downloaded files with extension ’.blend’ can now be loaded to Blender.

3. Open rigs in Blender

Rig files with extension ’.blend’ can be simply loaded to Blender. From that point you can start creating animations. This tutorial does not explain how to use Blender, but here are tutorials that I’ve found, that hopefully help you.

Tutorial by SimmyLexis for Blender starts at 7:30. It does not cover animations, but you will learn basic things about sim rigs and Blender.

Video by Ideal SimsFour is not really a tutorial, but it shows the whole process of creating animation with Blender. It may help you. Unfortunately I haven’t found a good tutorial that explains how to do animations. If you know one please send it my way.

4. Create Clips and Clips Headers

Once you’re done with your animation, you have to turn the ’.blend’ files into clip file and create a clip header file. To do that you have to use Sims4Studio, so open it. If at any point Sims4Studio requires Blender to be installed and you’ve already installed it, set its location in ‘Settings’ menu.

> 4.1. When Sims4Studio loads, make sure 'Clip Pack’ option is selected and click 'Animation’ button. [IMAGE]

> 4.2. Choose a place to save you temporary package. We will be opening it later.

> 4.3. Type anything into name field (doesn’t matter) and switch to the 'Clips’ tab. [IMAGE]

> 4.4. Click 'Import’ button, select your ’.blend’ animation file and then select proper gender for picked animation. [IMAGE]

> 4.5. Switch to the 'Warehouse’ tab. [IMAGE]

> 4.6. From the list choose the line with 'Clip’ type. Then rename 'ClipName’ on the right to your animation name (don’t use spaces in the name). This name will be used to identify your animation. [IMAGE]

> 4.7. Again, from the list choose the line with 'Clip Header’ type. Then rename 'ClipName’ on the right to your animation name. The name has to be the same as in the previous step. [IMAGE]

> 4.8. Save using the button on the bottom right. This will save your package file that was created in step 4.2. [IMAGE]

5. Extract Clip and Clip Headear files

To do this we need to use S4PE (Sims 4 Package Editor), so open S4PE.

> 5.1. Open saved package. From 'File’ choose 'Open…’ and pick your saved package that was created in step 4. [IMAGE]

> 5.2. After your package gets loaded it should look like this. [IMAGE]

> 5.3. From list select CLIP and CLHD file types, then right click on one of them and export to file. You can export these files one by one if you want. [IMAGE]

> 5.4. That’s it, you can close S4PE. Remember to not rename exported files.

6. Create WickedWoohoo animation package

For this you have to check out separate tutorial on how to do this.

I post sims 4 content. I’m kind of sick right now so posting has been slow but I have a lot of cc builds/makes with downloads :P

So I have a bunch of tutorials for future reference in my drafts. ( and my PC is still broken and I have nothing better to do XP) But I’m at a point where I lost the overview of it, so I decided to make a text post and link back to them.
