Another preview of a forthcoming #pedaldemo this time #screaminfx #1954fuzz - the lower cost and higher reliability of a silicon fuzz with the tone and responsiveness of germanium. Switchable buffer, too. The full version of this video is up on YouTube (link in bio) where you can hear how nicely this fuzz plays with a wah. It feels like I've been on the road more than I've been home so far this year. However, I've got 7 gigs in MD/NoVa in the next 10 days, before I'm in and out of town for the rest of March. For a change, 6 of those 7 will be with this old friend, which I bought new almost exactly 20 years ago. We've done a few gigs and it's found it way on to more than a couple of recordings. This Wednesday I'll a part of the latest "In the Vane of" series (I know, I know is vein, but it's a weather vane thing, just go with it) at Rams Head On Stage. It's a series of Annapolis area musicians doing a cover from a selected artist and an original in the style of the show's theme. If you've been to one of the always sold out "An Annapolis Christmas" shows, it's similar. The theme for Wednesday's show is The Beatles. I'll be there with Starbelly and also sitting in with Doug Segree, David Glaser and ...? It's a stellar and varied line up as always ( Pressing Strings, Kajun Kelley, Bumpin Uglies, Dan Haas, Angela Charles, Gingerwolf, Tobias Russell Music, Crosstown, Magic Bus, Unified Jazz Ensemble, Greg Phillips and more...). I know it's a weekday and school just started, however, the doors open at 6pm (show at 7pm) and will be done before 10pm. That's reasonable, right? What, you need another reason? Well, these shows benefit Annapolis Musicians Fund for Musicians (AMFM), which is a large part of what makes the area music scene so special. So let's recap: Music of the Fab Four and originals from over a dozen of the finest artists the Naptownmusic scene has to offer, with several special guests, not too early or too late for weekday convenience, you'll be supporting a great organization, AND you can say you saw Pete Best at a Beatles concert. Ok not the pre-Ringo drummer Pete Best and not THE Beatles. But you can still say it, because it'll be true on some level, as long as no one asks too many questions.
