[Midas had been in the middle of a less relaxing activity. He was trouble shooting the logistics of converting some of the office spaces to living with Marigold and Tina. Unsure if it would be possible to give everyone the privacy necessary, they were discussing having everyone move back onto the yacht, leaving the building to be used as a more communal social area, with the top floors reserved as planned for island reconnaissance.
He wasn't against the idea for the loss of the entirety of The Marigold to him and Valeria, but annoyed that any of this was necessary in the first place. He ran a hand through his hair with gritted teeth as they looked over floor plans,]
"The fucking First Order. First excuse we get to make things just a little miserable for them--"
[His personal phone and earpiece went off together, and he took a step back to both read Brutus' message, and listen to the transmission.
The King felt a rush go through him, a strange mix of further anger, and honest to God enthusiasm. An excuse delivered to him on a silver platter.
He nodded to Tina and Marigold, who followed him out the building and down the path to the yacht as Midas' voice came over the coms. Dangerously calm, and a little too peppy,]
"Everyone who's able, get to the atrium. The First Order has taken one of our own, Cate. We're going to get her back."
[Inside the Marigold, everyone had gathered quickly in order to make a plan to extract Cate. Despite himself, Midas could not help but feel a twinge of nostalgia about it. He tried not to indulge in it.
They would do this with as little noise as possible, but taking out a few Troopers on the way in would be necessary. Marigold, Brutus and Midas would be the ones infiltrating the compound that Brutus had been able to pinpoint by tracking Cate's brief transmission.
Midas and Marigold would need to take out two Troopers for their uniforms, and then they'd bring in Brutus as an arrested prisoner (there was no other way around the burly man not fitting into one of those suits). Tina would wait in a vehicle nearby for a faster exit. A potential hiccup already there in that she would have to be far enough away not to raise suspicions from a group as organized as the First Order. Though they would cross that bridge when they came to it. Best case, the Order would have vehicles they could commondeer themselves on the way out.
Everyone else would stay on the Yacht, but monitor the coms, and remain prepared in case things went south. Maybe chalk it up to an ego that could never truly be snuffed, but Midas somehow felt certain that it wouldn't. And if it did, he believed it would be handled. The buzzing in his mind was far too close to "giddy", only dampened when he was reminded just how much was at stake. Not merely an excuse to retaliate, and at least inconvenience the First Order, Cate's safety was the main concern.
He had to talk down Meowscles, who immediately wanted to be the one taken as the decoy prisoner.
'You're too close to this, my friend. It may affect your decision making in any given moment.'
The feline had made a low sound of frustration.
'You and the Crew pulled me from hell, Meowscles. We can handle a group of Fascists. We'll bring your sister back safe and sound, I promise.'
That seemed to have calmed him enough, and Meowscles resigned himself to closely observing the team's location pings.
With the plan wrapped up, Tina drove the other three up the snowy mountain, and around its side. They kept low to avoid detection.]
