[Batfamily Interviews Masterlist] | <- previous - next ->
The video opens up with a clip of a moment later in time. Bruce Wayne is in the hot seat with you asking the questions.
"I feel like this is going to be boring because you generally don't really lie." you say.
"What? I lie to the press all the time…and our children." Bruce states.
"Truth." the operator, Judd says.
You stare at him with wide eyes, "Honey, you can't say that."
The video cuts to both you and Bruce sitting next to one another. Both of your hands are clasp on the table while Bruce's are hidden under. One of them of which is on your thigh though the camera doesn't see it. A female crew member from Vanity Fair sits just off camera on the other side of the table.
"Y/N, Bruce, you were both brought here today to take a lie detector test. One of you will be hooked up onto the machine and the other will interview. Then you switch." She tells you. Both you and Bruce nod in understatement. "This is Judd, our polygraph operator." she introduce the man sitting off to the side.
You and Bruce both turn to him. Bruce gave him a greeting nod, you smiled and gave a small 'hello.'
"Who wants to be in the hot seat first?" the crew member asked.
You laugh nervously and turn to look at your husband and he looks at you.
"Is the hot seat the lying seat or the other one?" Bruce asked.
"This side is the test and also it's the truth seat." you tell him.
"Well then ladies first." Bruce says, which you gasp in shock.
You are getting hooked to the machine and are suddenly getting nervous. Judd, the lie detector operator, places your right arm on the table.
"Try not to move this arm too much." he told you.
A montage of setting up the lie detector starts to roll before the camera is on Bruce, now sitting opposite of you.
"My love…to calibrate the machine, I'm going to ask you some straight forward questions. Please answer honestly. Is your full name Y/N M/N Wayne?"
"Yes." you say.
"Are you 39 years old?"
Once again your eyes widen, "Didn't anyone tell you it was rude to ask a women her age?" Bruce just gives you a smug smile. "Yes." you finally answer with an eye roll.
"Are you about to take a polygraph exam?"
"Yes…everything I say feels like is a lie." you say then looked over at Judd. "Is it registering than I am?"
Judd shakes his head, "No, you're doing fine."
Bruce raised an eyebrow at you, "Are you nervous?"
"Well I wasn't before we arrived, but now being hooked up, I am. I guess I never realize how much I lie in life. Now I'm actively trying not to and it just feels wrong." you say.
"You lie more times than you think you do." Bruce stated.
Y/N Wayne Tells The Truth
Bruce reads off the first prompt, "You once told the Gotham Gazette that you feel like everyone hates you." you nod your head. "Do you still believe that?"
You nod your head again, "Yeah."
The camera switches back to Bruce, whose face had nothing but concern written on it.
"Why?" he said so quietly that it also didn't get picked up by audio.
"Um…I mean I don't know why anyone wouldn't have like some resentment towards me. You are like Gotham's baby, the prince of Gotham City. The city loved your parents and by extension you. Then here I come, a low-middle class girl from Star City, somehow got the playboy to settle down. I was living most Gotham girls fantasy and different from everyone else. So yeah I knew people hated me and I think some still do."
"I wouldn't trade you for anyone." Bruce stated.
"Awe you sap."
"Is the real reason you took the job to be my assistant because you secretly wanted to date me?"
"Really? That's the next question, even after what I just said?" you rolled your eyes, "No."
"She's telling the truth." Judd said.
"I truly had no idea who you were. I'm from the west coast, we didn't care about what was happening in the east. Which also if we are being honest…I think Alfred was looking for someone who didn't care who you were."
Judd nods, "Truth."
"Am I a good husband?" Bruce ask with a straight face.
You take a moment to answer, "Yes."
Judd shakes his head and Bruce tilts his head at you.
"What? No! You are you're a great husband…I will say though that you weren't a very good boyfriend, but I've had worst."
"That's the truth." Judd says.
"Okay so then follow up, what made me not that good of a boyfriend?"
"Well, there are two big things, but for legal reason…I can't say." you say.
"You went to the same high school as this person." Bruce slides over a picture of Oliver Queen.
You knit your eyebrows in confusion before realizing who it was, "Oh Ollie."
"Don't like how you said that…" Bruce mumble. "You dated during your senior year. Would you say that he was one of your worst that you were talking about?"
Your mouth twist as you looked at the picture, thinking hard. You opened your mouth to speak, but then retracted it.
"No." you finally say.
"That's a lie." spoke Judd.
Your jaw dropped as Bruce laughs a little, "What? I didn't lie. Sure he wasn't the best and he owns up to that…now at least. The ones in college though…" You make a face.
"Ones? Plural?"
"Oh, don't act like that…you practically had a new girlfriend every month according to Alfred."
"I already know the answer to this one," Bruce says and you give an offended look, "Do you look at fan accounts dedicated to you?"
You laugh, "I look at fan accounts dedicated to all of us. Especially ones about Dami."
Judd nods, "She's telling the truth."
You look into the camera, "I gotta make sure everyone is being respectful and appropriate about my baby."
"We see it all." Bruce comments.
"You make me watch a lot of reality TV." Bruce says.
"I don't make you, you enjoy it."
"Do you think we should have our own reality TV?"
You shake your head, "God no. We are kind of public enough, I don't need the world seeing into our home life."
"Truthful."
"If I asked to with hold information from a super villain to cover for me, would you?" Bruce makes a face.
"No." you say equally making the same face.
"I would never ask you to do that."
"I don't even think our kids would cover for you." you and Bruce both laugh. "Also, I've done that before…wouldn't recommend."
"Did you lie at any point of this interview and we didn't catch you?" Bruce asked.
"I think I was pretty truthful consider that fact that I felt what I was saying was all lies."
"My turn I guess." Bruce said tossing what he was reading off of behind him.
The camera cuts to now Bruce getting hooked up to the polygraph machine.
"Bruce, to calibrate the machine, I'm going to ask you some straight forward questions. Please answer honestly." you read off of a note pad. Bruce nods. "Is your full name Bruce Thomas Wayne?" you asked.
Bruce nods, "Yes."
"Are you from Gotham, New Jersey?"
"Yes."
"Are you about to take a lie detector test?"
Bruce smiles at you, "I suppose that I am. Yes."
You look toward Judd, the lie detector operator, "Good?"
"All good." Judd says back to you, and you turn your attention back to your husband.
Bruce Wayne Tells The Truth
"I feel like this is going to be boring because you generally don't really lie." you say.
"What? I lie to the press all the time…and our children." Bruce states.
"He's telling the truth." Judd says.
You look at him with wide eyes, "Honey, you can't say that."
Bruce shrugs, clearly not caring.
You look down at the paper the crew gave you. Pre-reading the first one, it makes you laugh.
"I'm already not liking this." Bruce admits.
"How often are you faking that you remember people at Galas from when you were a kid?" you ask.
Bruce doesn't hesitate to answer, "Oh, all the time."
"That's so bad." you say, "You're horrible."
Bruce shrugs again.
"The family group chat often talks about how hot this person is " you slide a picture of Clark Kent in front of Bruce.
"Oh no…" Bruce says already knowing where this was going.
"There is a part of the internet that is very dedicated on shipping you two together..,"
"Shipping?"
You gave your husband a deadpan look, "Don't try to act like you don't know what that is. I know Stephanie's explained it to you before."
Bruce chuckles.
"The two of you are seen pretty close with each other. So the question is would you leave me if Clark Kent declared his love for you?"
Bruce draws his lips into a thin line. Staring a the photo of Clark on the table, contemplating. Five minutes go by and you, on the other side of the table, look at your so call lover with with shock.
"Bruce this is a long time, goodness!"
Bruce shakes his head, "No, no I wouldn't leave you." You turn your head to Judd.
"Truth." said Judd, but you shake your head.
"I don't believe you. Would you leave me for Clark Kent?" you ask again.
"No." He said it clear with a stern voice.
You are narrowing your eyes at him as Judd tells you that Bruce was telling the truth.
"Before dropping out of Gotham University, you were dorm mates with Former District Attorney, Harvey Dent. Was he a good roommate?"
"I think we were both equally bad roommates…" Bruce said.
"Would you say that you are or were more successful than him?"
"Ohhh." Bruce made a face like that question psychically hurt him. You laugh at his reaction, "No absolutely not."
"Deceptive." Judd said, causing both you and Bruce to laugh.
"Oh well I already know the answer to this, but when was the last time you made a dinner reservation?" you laugh. Bruce makes a face that you couldn't describe. "Never." you said as you shook your head. "I don't think you ever have, Alfred does it for you."
"If I did and this was before you, I would just call and pretend to be my own assistant…" Bruce revealed.
"Well, you didn't have to," you told him laughing, "It was just something you chose to do."
"You're quite well know for your physique. What's your secret for staying so fit and or hydrated?"
Bruce thinks on how to answer, "I get wet when I…"
The camera cuts back to you. You are slightly shaking your head, trying not to laugh.
"No…say something else." you say. Bruce breaks into silent laughter. "Please say something else."
"What was the question again?" Bruce asked.
"What's your secret to staying so hydrated or fit?"
"I get wet when I-"
"NO!" you yell, "Bruce say it another way…" you tell him.
"I drink water? I work out almost everyday?" Bruce responds.
"There you go. Oh my god, Bruce." you say.
Bruce laughs at your panic expression.
"Moving on from whatever that was-"
"What I was trying to say-" Bruce began, cutting you off.
"NO! Honey, we're done." you say.
"We have a lot of kids." You state reading of the card, "Out of all of them, who is your favorite?"
"Are you trying to start a war?" Bruce ask.
"Not me, Vanity Fair."
"I don't have a favorite." Bruce claims.
"That's a lie." Judd tells you. You burst into laughter
"It varies week to week. Who ever runs my patients the least that week the is favorite."
"Truth." Judd says.
"So then who gets on your nerves the least?" Jason's voice said from somewhere off camera.
"Cassandra…and Duke."
Judd nods, "Truth."
"Are you the crime fighting vigilante known as Batman?"
Bruce sighs, "Am I going to get asked this every interview we do?"
"Answer the question, honey."
"No." Bruce declared.
Judd's face twitch a little, "Ask him again."
You let out a little surprise noise, "Did it not pick up?"
You lean forward looking into your husband's eyes. He was staring back at you, with a shit eating grin on his face.
"Are you Batman?" you ask again.
Bruce leans forward too, leaning into your eyes. You're enjoying this, he could tell.
"No." Bruce answered.
"He's telling the truth." Judd announced.
You fell back into the chairs, "We almost had him guys." you say referring to the people of the internet.
"Okay that was all the question. Did you lie at any point during this interview and we didn't catch you?"
Bruce nods, "Yes."
"True." Judd said.
You looked wide eye at your husband, "Are you serious?" Bruce smiles and nods. Mouth open with shock, "When?"
"I'm not going to say."
"Can I say what I think you lied about?" you smiled.
"What?"
"Leaving me for Clark Kent." you laughed.

November 25th, 1994
You're munching on breakfast the next morning after the first task. It was a normal breakfast all things consider. The talks of the first task were high and whispers about what the next task could be were also going around.
"Look at this!"
It was Hermione's voice disturbing the peace. She was fiddling with the mornings Daily Prophet. You tuned her out a bit and turned your focus back on the people in front of you; Fred, Angelina, and George.
A few moments later, Hermione voiced your name. The tone was shocking.
Confused you say, "What?"
"She wrote about you and…Cedric." Hermione said.
"Who are we talking about?" George tuned into the conversation.
Hermione grumbled, "Rita Skeeter." She passed along the Daily Prophet.
"Harry Potter and Viktor Krum aren't the only champions experiencing romance. Cedric Diggory, the second Hogwarts Champion, seems to be in a sparking romance with fellow housemate, Y/N Greengrass." Fred reads.
"That bloody woman." you say snatching the paper to read it properly.
The article was title, Romance and Heartache, with of picture of Harry and Hermione hugging before the first task in a heart frame, a picture of Viktor Krum right below that and on the bottom of the page, that picture of you and Cedric that Rita took also in a heart frame.
You looked up and scan the table. Hermione was giving you a look of sympathy, but she was also furious. Angelina seemed like she wasn't surprised at all. Fred had a smug look on his face that you wanted to slap off and George…well George was unreadable at the moment. Which you find strange because you can normally read him very well.
"You know it's not like that. You were there. I was just comforting him." you reassured.
"I don't know…" Fred began and you were already giving him a look, "hard to tell from where we were standing."
'You're not helping.' was what your expression was telling him before shoving the paper at him.
On the way to charms, Beau and Beth met up with you.
"Care to explain this?" Beth asked, showing you the same Daily Prophet page from earlier. You rolled your eyes.
"It was taken out of context. Cedric was nervous, I was just comforting him. Ask the twins, they were there." you said.
Beau gave a curious look, "George witness the whole thing?"
"That's literally what I just said. Are your ears on?" you asked.
"How did he react? Was he jealous?" Beth asked.
What the hell is up with everyone?
"Well?" They were waiting on an answer.
"George? Jealous? What would he have to be jealous for?" you asked.
"Cedric obviously. He fancies you, you know." Beau said.
"Annddd so does George, which of course, you already know, just won't admit." Beth added.
You ignored her like you always do. You didn't know for sure, you're not even sure if you fancy George back.
Who are you kidding (yourself really).
"Before you all go," Professor Flitwick began at the end of Charms class, "I have something that I need to announce to you all." he said. Everyone stopped packing their books, "Right now uh towards the end of this month, the Yule Ball, which is in fact a dance, will take place. It has been a tradition of the Triwizard Tournament and an opportunity for us to socialize with our foreign guest."
The girls in the class started whispering excitedly, while the guys grumbled at the notion of a dance.
"The ball will be open to fourth years and above. Students from three and below can be invited but will have to get special permission from their head of house." Flitwick mention. The bell rang and everyone resume their packing and started to file out. "Oh um ladies, you'll need formal dress and fellas you'll need dress robes!"
Walking to your next class when you notice Beth and Beau weren't beside you, but rather behind.
"This is the perfect opportunity to get them together." you head Beth whisper to Beau. You whipped around.
"What are you two planning?" you confronted them.
"Nothing." they both said simultaneously.
You gave them suspicious looks. "Right."
December 15th, 1994
It's been half a month already and the school was divided once more. Split right down the middle between boys and girls. Finding a date to the Yule Ball became a race to some.
George Weasley has spent the last week and a half trying to muster up the courage to ask you to the Yule Ball. Your friends/dorm mates, had cornered him in the hallway just the other day about it.
"Uh…can I help you guys?" he asked the two.
"No, but we can help you…" Beau said.
"Listen, everyone is pretty tired watching the two of you dance around each other." Beth stated.
"It's been four year and neither of you have made a move." Beau adds.
George felt his face get hot, "Is it that obvious that I like her?"
"To everyone expect her, but…she's also been giving signs back that you haven't picked up on either, so you're both useless." Beth claims.
"I mean-" George couldn't lie, last year and this past summer he's felt as if things were changing between you and him. "I don't want to ruin our friendship."
Beau lets out a groan, "Just ask her to the ball."
"We are…at least I think we are…." George confessed.
Beth mumble something under her breath that George couldn't make out.
"No, you have to do this the proper way, ask her to the ball, George."
The two of you would have your usual hangs out, nothing that wasn't normal. Expect for the constant butterflies in his stomach now.
Did you really like him back? This suddenly became very real to him. He's just suppose to ask you to the ball. It was a simple question, so…why was it so hard to ask?
"George." your voice draws him out of thought.
You both were sitting in his room, on the floor with blankets and the heater in the middle going. The bed was in fact big enough to house both of you, however; George knew that you prefer to sit on the floor for whatever reason.
"Did you hear what I said?" you asked him.
"No…no sorry, love." George said. Suddenly that nickname, love, has a weight to it.
You had your feet prop up on his bed and your hair was splay out in a way that George could only describe has a fan like shape.
"I was talking about Moody? He gives me a weird vibe." you retell him.
"Well they call him 'mad' for a reason." he explains.
"I know, but I can't just shake this feeling." You turn your head to look at him. George see you furrow your eyebrows before sitting up. "Alright, what's up with you. You're usually more engaged in our conversation."
"I know, I just…have a lot on my mind I guess." George told you.
'Now ask her now, you knitwit.' he thinks.
He's fighting with himself in his head and he is forever thankful that you can't read minds or maybe you can. The way you were looking at him currently makes it seem that you can hear his thoughts as he thinks them.
You sigh, "Alright what did you and Fred do?"
"What? Oh no…we haven't done anything….promise."
"Then say what's on your mind. I can practically see the gears turning."
George is looking at you and he can't bring himself to say what he need to say. He can hear Fred teasing him already. Hear Beth and Beau groan in frustration…again.
"It's almost time for fifth period, we should get going." He said as he got up from the floor.
He goes to offer his hands to you help you up, but your just looking at him. You, yourself, want to interrogate him, but that would just make you a hypocrite wouldn't it. You grab his hands and George pulls you up. He takes his hands away form you like you've burn him and grabs his bag and walks out the door.
You follow after him after grabbing your own bag. This is weird…this is awkward, things have never been awkward between you two.
After class, George told Fred all about what happen during free period.
"You're pathetic." Fred simply said. "And hopeless it seems." George sighs in defeat knowing he would not get any sympathy. "I don't get it, you've been talking and hanging around just fine for years and now suddenly asking her a simple question is too much for you? It's not like you're actually telling her you like her…not yet at least. You're thinking too much into it."
George lets out a groan.
"Hey George!" a voice called from behind.
Fred and George both turned around to find Cedric walking up to them. He seemed nervous, but not as nervous as he was before the first task.
"Do you have a moment?" Cedric asked George. George just nods and steps over to the side of the hallway to get out of people's way. "So um…" Cedric was hesitant, "What's the deal with you and Y/N?" he asked.
George was confused, "What?"
"You two are very close, so I was just wondering if there was anything-"
George spoke before his brain even process, "We're just friends." Inside George screamed at him self because why in Godric's name did he say that?
Cedric looked slightly surprise, "Really? So it would be alright if I asked her to the ball yeah?"
George froze, 'No it would not be alright' is what he wanted to say, but can't bring himself too.
Fred steps in and throws an arm around his brother's shoulder. "Of course you can, mate. No one better than a bloke like you." George whipped his head.
"Okay yeah, thanks. I'll see you guys around." Cedric said before happily walking away.
George shoved his brother, "What the hell, Fred?! Why would you say that?"
"Why did you say that you and Greenie were just friends?" Fred counter.
"I don't know…I- I panic!" George exclaimed.
"Like I said helpless. You now have a limited window, ask her before Cedric swoops in and steals your girl." Fred said before leaving his brother to stand in the hallway.
December 17th, 1994
The Yule Ball was getting closer and closer. This weekend was a Hogsmeade trip, so Beth and Beau drag to shop for accessories, which you were still very up in arms about.
You technically still didn't have a proper date as Beth says. You assume that you would just have George as your 'date', but Beth said that he needed to ask you properly, like she had her boyfriend, Ryan, do. It's been weeks now though and George hasn't mention anything about the Yule Ball at all.
Ron and Harry, however; were in a similar boat give or take. They couldn't find dates at all and almost everyone in Hogwarts seem to be taken now. Hermione wasn't having the same problem as they boys. As Viktor Krum had asked her to be his date a couple of days ago. You weren't surprise in the slightest, the boy had been eyeing her since the first task. Though happy about being ask, you could tell that there was still something up.
Back to the present, you were sitting with Harry at lunch and his eyes kept looking behind you seemly distracted from the conversation you were trying to have with him. Why was everyone so distracted these days?
"Harry!" you say snapping your fingers at him.
His green eyes snap back to your eyes, "Hmm sorry."
"What are you looking at…or should I be asking who?" you say narrowing your eyes at him.
"I wasn't looking at anything…" he says as his eyes keep going behind you.
You turn your head around to try and see what or who Harry could possibly be staring at. Smiling and staring in your direction was a group of Ravenclaw girls. One of the girls you knew to be Cho Chang, the seeker for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. You turn your head back slowly and could help, but give the boy a teasing look.
"Cho Chang?" you question.
Harry looked like a deer caught in headlights, "No…" he answered. You gave him a look to which Harry sighs, "Okay…yeah."
"Well what are you waiting for?"
"I don't know, I just get scare and I can never get her alone…"
"Well…I just happen to know that she goes to the owlery ever other Saturday right before dinner." you tell him.
Harry perks up, "Really?"
"Really." you say giving him a wink.
With the majority of the castle staying back this holiday, some teachers, like Snape and Moody, thought it would be amazing if they assigned homework…tons of it. So you find yourself in the library once more.
You round a bookshelf when you bump into Cedric. His hands come to steady you and a imagine of him laying on the grass staring lifeless flashes before you. It makes you freeze.
"Woah, sorry. I wasn't expecting you to just come around the corner like that." he says, completely unaware.
"No, I didn't see you there." you say trying to shake the horrors from your head.
"Um hey…while I have you here…can I ask you something?" He asked. You didn't give him a verbal answer, just a reaction that told him to proceed. "I was hoping maybe you would like to come to the ball with me?"
Oh. You take in his question. Technically speaking you were available, George hadn't asked you to go with him. Surely he would if he liked you more than a friend like the girls said…right, but maybe your second sight keeps showing you Cedric's death as a warning. What if it's giving you the chance to possibly save him?
Cedric spoke when you were quiet for too long, "Unless someone asked you already that is…"
"No! I mean…yes." you say abruptly. "I mean…I would love to go to the ball with you, Cedric." you say more calmly.
December 24th, 1994
The fall term had long ended and the castle had been decked out even more than usual for the Yule (or Christmas) festivities. The castle seem to be turned into a ice wonderland compare to the forest greenery that it normally is.
The twins new invention, Canary Creams, which upon eaten would turn the consumer into a canary, were a great success. The first few days of holiday break, people were bursting into feather all over the place. You, along with the whole of Gryffindor house, have long since learned not to accept anything from those two.
The news of you and Cedric going to the ball together had gotten out.
"What and you said yes?" Beth asked.
"I would have felt bad if I said no…" It was the half truth, but they couldn't know the full reason as to why you agreed.
"What about George?" Beau asked.
"What about George? He never once brought up the ball. I think you guys just might be seeing things…" you say.
"Are we? Your reaction tells us plenty." Beth states.
A present was sent to you from Remus. It was small and had a note attached to it.
You open the present and saw the album in question. It was filled with photos taken from when you were a baby. They were taken with a muggle camera as none of them moved, expect for one.
There in the photo was a younger Remus and you, you can't tell how old you were there, but you had a pacifier in your mouth. Remus is holding you up, face squished into the side of yours, and you are waving to the camera. Assuming that your mother was on the other side.
You see the resembles of younger Remus and you now was a bit uncanny. All your life you though maybe you looked too much like your mother that your gran wouldn't even look at your without being reminded. Now you see maybe that wasn't the case and it was for a different reason entirely.
You didn't notice the tears until Beth said something and soon all three of your dorm mates were on the bed with you looking at baby photos.
"Young Professor Lupin was even hotter." Haley said.
"Haley!" you exclaimed.
"What, everyone was thinking it!" Haley defended.
Later the evening, when everyone was getting the for the ball, you had shown the album to Daphne.
"I've never seen a photo of her." Daphne said as she did your hair, referring to Diana, your mother. "I've always an imagine of what she might look like. It was mostly just you…older." That made you laugh.
Beth was helping Hermione with make-up. The young girl was almost unrecognizable. Her normally frizzy curls were now defined and in an up-do, her front teeth were shrunken down after an incident with Malfoy, and she wore a pretty blue color dress that matched nicely with her skin tone.
When it was time to leave, Cedric was down in the common room waiting for you. He wore a classic dress robes and he had cut his hair a little, though it still had that fluffy look to it. He smiled at you and offered his hand to help you down the rest of the stairs.
"You look beautiful." he told you.
You smiled politely at the comment, though you wish you were hearing it from someone else.
"You don't clean up to bad yourself, Diggory." you quip.
You notice for the first time since the World Cup, that there wasn't any warning when you touched Cedric's hand. The lingering feeling was there, but it wasn't sickening like all the other times.
The entrance hall was pack with students. It was overwhelming, honestly, but you reminded yourself that this wasn't like the Yule Balls hosted by Pure-blood nobility, but the gossip was all the same no made where.
"Are you alright?" Cedric asked using his other hand to squeeze the one that was wrapped around his arm.
"Oh…yes. I'm fine, I don't really like crowds or…balls in general." you say.
"Yeah I notice." Cedric said, which make you give him a questioning look, "Last Yule, the ball hosted by the Notts. I saw you."
"Why didn't you say anything? Could've used a familiar face. One that I liked anyways." you commented.
The conversation was interrupted by Professor McGonagall.
"There you are Mr. Diggory— oh Miss Greengrass…" she was shocked to see you standing there, but fixed her reaction real quick. "Are the two of you ready?"
"I'm sorry for what exactly…" you asked.
"Why to dance of course. It's traditional that the champions are the first to dance." McGonagall informed.
Your eyes grew, "Oh no, no." you said while shaking your head, "I don't dance."
"Well you are most certainly are tonight." McGonagall left no room for an argument.
She guided you and Cedric to stand near the doors to the Great Hall. Fleur was standing there with Roger Davies, the Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain. Also near you was Harry and Cho and Krum had arrived with Hermione by his side. Harry's reaction to seeing Hermione was priceless. You watch him do a triple take before he finally realize it was her.
"Now I need you all to line up in the procession, please." Professor McGonagall said to the group.
The procession was as followed: Fleur & Roger, Krum & Hermione, you & Cedric, and finally Harry & Cho.
The doors to the Hall opened once more. Students had made a path from the door and created a big circle outlining the Hall. At the top of the Hall was a large round table, where the judges for the tournament were sitting.
Everyone applaud as the champions walked in. Beth with Ryan and Beau with Erik were standing at the end of the stretch. George was there standing in the outer circle with Katie Bell. There was a longing look in his eyes. You could see it even from practically across the Hall.
You take your place on the dance floor with Cedric. His right hand on your waist and your left on his shoulder, clasping the other hands together. The dance was a waltz, you could handle a waltz. A few minutes of just the champions and their partners dancing, other started to join in. Like Dumbledore with McGonagall, and Karkaroff with the Ancient Runes professor.
When the waltz was over, you (along with the rest of the champion pairs) stood in front of the judges table and took note how all the judges were present expect for Barty Crouch, whose seat was instead taken by Percy Weasley.
The champions and their dates were to seat with the judges for the feast. There were open seats on either side of Percy, which you and Harry occupied. Cedric drew your chair out for you before taking a seat beside you.
Percy started a conversation with Harry about Mr. Crouch, you couldn't help but eaves drop in.
"I'm afraid to say Mr. Crouch isn't well. Hasn't been right since the World Cup. Hardly surprising — overworked." Percy informed.
Weird. To you, Barty Crouch seemed fine during Halloween and at the first task.
"Mr. Crouch suffered a huge personal shocked with the misbehavior of that house-elf of his — and then we had the tournament to arrange along with the aftermath of the Cup. There's that Skeeter woman buzzing around making a mess of things." Percy went on.
You tuned Percy out and tuned into Hermione's conversation with Viktor. Which you don't think you ever heard him talk this much…or ever for that matter.
"— though in the winter, we have very little day-light, so we are not enjoying them, but in summer…we are flying every day, over the lakes, the mountains —"
Conversations continued around the table. Dumbledore mention to Karkaroff about a room that seemly appear out of no where in the castle (they were talking about their respective castle's secrecy). You know what room Dumbledore was talking about as a room like that was mention many times in your mother's diary.
"Doing alright?" Cedric leaned over to ask.
You turned your attention to him. You've realize that you hadn't really been eating your food.
"Yeah, I'm fine." you said.
"A bit nerve racking yeah? Dancing in the middle of the room with a hundred eyes on you?"
"Probably not a nerve racking as fighting a dragon."
Cedric laughs, "No definitely not. Close second though."
"Speaking of tasks, have you figure out the clue to the second?" you asked.
"Oh yes actually, I figured it out weeks ago. I think it's going to take place at the Black Lake."
That made you stomach twist. You saw a glimpse of the lake during your…incident. That means the Triwizard Cup in the hedges must be the third task, but last time you check. There weren't any graveyards near Hogwarts.
"Why did you enter the tournament?" you asked.
Cedric took a moment to answer, "I think I just wanted to prove myself I guess."
"But the high death count…that didn't scare you?"
"It did…but I when I told my dad that I was going to enter…I never seen him so proud, so I just swallowed the fear down."
Listening to him talk made the sinking feeling come back ten fold. Doomed — Cedric knew that if he enter there was a possibility that he could die.
"Can I ask you about your scar and what happen with Sirius Black last year?" he asked.
"Not much to say, I was just trying to stop Harry. Get him and the other two to go back inside, ran into Professor Lupin on his way to where ever he went to transform, but he didn't make it in time. Got attack trying to help him." you say.
"And what about Sirius Black."
"I don't really remember, side affect of the confundus charm."
There was no point in trying to explain what really happen, not without revealing your abilities.
You find similarity to each other as you continue to talk. Learning that Cedric wasn't at all what people think. You tell him what you can about yourself, painting the perfect picture about a life that truly was a facade. You learned that he had a younger sister, Cordelia, she was eight.
When the everyone was pretty much done eating, Dumbledore waved his wand around to reveal the stage that was being hidden behind a curtain that blended well with the decorations. On the stage were several instruments; a set of drums, guitars, a lute, a cello, and some bagpipes.
The Weird Sisters, a famous pop punk/rock wizard band, hopped up onto the stage. Students started to go crazy, well the ones that were raised in the wizarding world, muggle-borns and some half-blood were giving odd looks.
Your jaw dropped, "No way!"
"I take it your a fan?" Cedric laughed.
"My 'big sibling' was the biggest Weird Sisters fan. If she were here right now, she would go ballistic." you said.
"You had a big sibling in first year?"
A 'big sibling' or 'badger sibling' was when a seventh year Hufflepuff student 'adopted' a first year Hufflepuff student and act as there mentor figure or big sibling if you will.
The Weird Sisters started to play 'Do The Hippogriff'
"Are you all ready to rock!" the lead singer yelled out.
The lights in the Hall dim and colorful ones came on instead. Excited to hear your favorite song, you grabbed Cedric and dragged him to the crowd.
"Move your body like a hairy troll…learning to rock and roll."
Everyone was more jumping to the beat than dancing. Cedric's buddies had found you guys amongst the people and pulled you in deeper to the crowd where there was barely any room to put your hands down. Professor Flitwick was seen crowd surfing, wether it was consensual or not, none of the other professors seem to put a stop to it.
You can spot Hermione letting loose and dancing with Krum. It was probably the happiest you've seen her in a while. Next to her though was George, who was bopping his head to the music kind of into it. You can somewhat see Katie Bell trying to get him more into it.
Your attention was pull back when someone grabbed your chin forcing you to look away, it was Beth. She took your hands and whirl you around, effortlessly distracting you.
After two songs, the band took a moment to catch their breath. You scan the room again, something you can't help but do. Spotting Ludo Bagman, who was just slow dancing with Professor McGonagall, being corner by the twins. Ludo, the dodgy man that he his, shook them off quickly The twins looked annoyed as ever. They spoke to each other for a moment before parting ways. Fred went back to Angelina and George went towards the exit.
"Hey…" you say to Cedric as the next song started to play. He gives you his undivided attention, leaning in closer to you so you didn't have to yell over the loud music. "I'm getting overheated, I'm going to step outside for a few."
Cedric nods, "You want me to come with you?"
You shake your head, "I'll just be a few."
The entrance hall was cold and had a dusting of snow that came in through the front doors. Out in the lawn the center garden was twinkling with fairy lights. Outside seem to be where students went to make out as you pass multiple couples practically devouring each other's faces on the benches.
You found George up on the guards wall that went around the perimeter of the lawn.
"You know Bagman isn't going to give you your winnings, he's con man." you say. George whips around at the sound of your voice.
George had been practicing what he wanted to say to you, but now that you were in front of him, he's forgotten. He couldn't stop looking at you and Cedric the whole time at the ball. Only time he manage to have a little fun was when Katie was threatening him too. He hated how Cedric made you laugh, your real laugh not the fake one you give most people. He hated that he was even jealous.
"I know, but I don't think Fred wants to admit that you were right." George responds.
"Why have you've been ignoring me?" you ask softly.
"I haven't I just…been busy with joke shop ideas…" George replied.
"Please don't lie to me, George."
George looked down at his feet before looking back at you, "Because I was mad at myself."
Your face scrunches, "What?"
'Because I'm in love with you?' he screams in his head.
"I-" George stop what he was going to say, "Why did you agree to go with Diggory to the ball?"
'"It's complicated." you said, 'Because you didn't ask.' you thought.
"Why are you being so secretive lately? Why won't you talk about what happen on Halloween?" George asked.
"Because I— wait hold on, don't try to flip the conversation onto me." you argue.
George goes quiet. He doesn't want to argue with you. He wants to get over himself and you to be honest with yourself.
"You should get back to your date." It comes out more angry than he wanted it to.
You don't know where the sudden anger came from. If he was angry about you going to the ball with Cedric than he should have asked you instead. Maybe you should have made it obvious that you wanted to be ask. Why did you have to listen to Beth? Maybe because a part of you wanted her words to be true. That George Weasley liked you more than a friend.
"Good night, George." you say to him before walking back down the stairs and towards the entrance.
You were about to head back inside when you heard voices coming from between the carriages that were parked.
"It's happening again like before and soon, neither you or any one else will be able to deny it."
That was Karkaroff's voice.
"I already told you, Igor. I see no reason to discuss it…"
And that was Snape's. The two were paroling the area for any…activity. You watch as Snape runs up to a carriage and bust open the door. Alexander Fawcett and Crystal Stebbins emerge from the carriage.
"You cannot pretend this isn't happening, Severus." Karkaroff said once they were out of ear shot, "It's been getting clearer and clearer for months."
"I don't know what you're talking about…" responds Snape.
"Really? Then you don't mind…rolling up your sleeve." Karkaroff goes for Snape's arm, but Snape dodges. "You don't fool me, Severus. You are scared, admit it."
"I have nothing to be scared of, Igor. Can you say the same?"
Karkaoff glares at Snape before walking off. You hid yourself behind a pillar. When you heard footstep draw further, you peak out only to catch someone doing the same thing you were.
Professor Moody was on the other side of the rows of carriages. You saw him, so he must have seen you.
"There you are." a voice behind you said.
You jumped and let out a small gasp. Sighing when you saw that it was only Cedric.
"Sorry I–" you looked back at the carriages, "I got sidetracked."
"You're shivering." Were you? You didn't even notice. Cedric shed his outer layer and draped it over you. You wrap it more around you and Cedric guides you back inside.
The Weird Sisters were playing one last slow song before officially calling it a night. The Great Hall was practically empty, only have a hand full of couples still dancing, you among them.
When you and Cedric walked out of the Great Hall and into the entrance hall, he paused as he spotted Harry and Cho going up the stairs that would lead to their respective towers. Cedric turned to you and mouth 'one sec' before running up to the Gryffindor boy.
"Hey Harry!" he called out, "Listen…" he spoke more quietly, "I owe you one for telling me about the dragons. Your egg does it wail when you open it?"
"Yeah…"
"You know the Prefects' bathroom on the fifth floor?" Harry nods, "It's not a bad place for a bath." Harry looked confused, "Just take your egg and mull things over…just trust me. Oh and the password is 'pine fresh'."
Cedric returns to you and you give him a smile.
"Thank you." you tell him.
"He told me about the dragons, it was the least I could do. I would have done the same if I learn about them first. He's only a kid." Cedric said.
'So are we.' you thought.
Cedric offered his arm again, "Shall we?"
"I actually have to do some damage control, but I had fun…truly." you tell him.
Cedric didn't question you, just nods his head in understanding and then leaned in to give you a kiss on the cheek. He said your name with a good night then walked down the steps towards the common room.
You stood there a little stunned. What a cruel thing, leading Cedric on. Even if you don't mean too.
"…Doubt it, he's way too old…" Ron's voice cuts through the silence.
Remembering why you stayed behind, you turn on your heel.
"What?! So that's what you think?" Hermione voiced.
"Yeah, that's what I think."
You see Harry on the steps next to you. He stop his quest of bring Cho back to her house to deal with his two best friends.
"Well, you know the solution, then, don't you?" Hermione yelled.
"Go on?" Ron egged her on.
"Next time there's a ball, pluck up the courage to ask me before someone else does and not as a last resort!" you could hear her voice beginning to break.
"Well…" Ron sputtered, "I mean, that's just completely off the point."
'Oh Ron.' you think.
Hermione's face twists in anger, "Off to bed, both of you!" she yells at both Ron and Harry.
Complying, Ron joins Harry on the stairs. Harry grabs Ron by the shoulder ruffly.
"They get scary when they get older." Ron comments to Harry.
Hermione whips her head around so fast that you almost didn't have time to process the comment Ron made.
"Ron, you spoiled everything!" cries Hermione before she fully breaks down on the stairs.
Harry starts dragging Ron up the stairs more, whispering to him trying to figure out what the argument was about. You go and sit next to a crying Hermione on the steps. She leans into you, crying into your shoulder.
"Why are boys so stupid?" she says as she takes her heels off. Your shoes were long forgone off your feet.
"Afraid I don't have the answer to that one." you tell her.
You think back on tonight. It was relatively the most normally night you've have in a while, but what was up with Karkaroff and Snape? What was happening like before? A problem for another day, perhaps. You have a crying Hermione to deal with.
"Come one, you can sleep with me tonight." you tell her, grabbing her heels and yours before making your way to the Hufflepuff common room.
more notes: only two, maybe three more chapters for Goblet of Fire era.

[Batfamily Interviews Masterlist] | next interview ->
The video opens with with a short in the moment intro. It the Wayne Family, they don't know that the camera started to roll. In the first row from left to right sit you, Damian, Cass, and Duke. Behind in the second row sits Bruce, Jason, Dick, Tim, and Stephanie. Jason is messing with Damian by barely touching his earlobe. Damian flinches at the feel of a ghostly touch.
"Todd!" Damian yells. Which cause Damian and Dick to both laugh.
You turn in your seat to swat Jason's hand away, "Can we behave for once?"
The camera cuts before showing the Wayne again, but this time all facing the camera sitting nicely as this time they were informed that the video had started.
"Hello, we are the Waynes and this is the WIRED Autocomplete Interview." Bruce introduces.
Autocomplete suggests the most common searches on the internet
"I still don't quite understand the rules of this…" Bruce admits to his children.
Stephanie groans, "B, we went over this."
So WIRED asked the Wayne family some of the Internet's burning questions
Jason holds the board and angles it in a way that it faces the camera. The board display that of a Google search with Bruce Wayne typed into the search bar and four questions coming up in the search. Part of the sentence was hidden under a white tab.
"So these are like the most searched questions from Google and you have to answer them." Tim explains.
"Is there a right and wrong answer?" Bruce asked.
Tim and Steph both shake their heads, "No."
"Just answer the question however you want." Stephanie said.
Jason pulls the first tab off to reveal the hidden part of the question. "Is Bruce Wayne…richer than Lex Luthor?"
"Um…I think I'm generally considered richer than him in wealth, I mean I'm certainly richer than him in other aspects…like having hair…"
The crew begins to laughs. Jason makes a 'boom' sound as he pretends to drop a bomb.
"Shots fired." Dick said.
You were sitting there pinching the bridge of your nose trying your best not to laugh.
"You know lots of things" Bruce said smugly.
"Why is Bruce Wayne…afraid of bats?" Jason read off the next questions.
"Are you really afraid of bats?" Duke asked turning in his chair to look at Bruce.
"Okay…I wouldn't really say afraid…." Bruce started before you interrupted.
"No, you still have some fear for them." you corrected.
"When I was seven, maybe eight, I fell down an old well that was part of the property that I wasn't suppose to be at. Ended up being part of a cave system and there was a flock of bats that swarmed and attack me." Bruce stated.
"Wait are you serious?" Stephanie double checked.
"When aren't I?" Bruce said sarcastically.
Jason reveals the next question, "Does Bruce Wayne…have living family?"
Stephanie gasps, "Kate. We love Kate." The other nod in agreement.
Bruce throws a hand up, "My cousin, Kate from my mother's side. Who was actually with me when I fell down that hole and may or may not be the reason." Bruce gives a dead stare to the camera.
"Clip that." Steph said towards the crew.
Bruce gave a confuse look, "What?"
"B, again we talked about this!"
You were still hung up on what Bruce said, "Wait no she wasn't. Kate was living in Europe at the time."
Bruce put a finger to his lips in a 'shushing' motion.
"Alright last question," Jason annouced, "Is Bruce Wayne…batman. That's the age old question right there."
"Bruce is never beating the batman allegations." Dick said.
"Not I am not Batman. I hate that guy." Bruce states.
Jason throws the board somewhere off camera.
The next broad gets passed and it had Dick's name on it. Damien holds it, while you peel off the tabs and read the questions.
"Alright is Dick Grayson's name Dick." you read off.
"Yes actually his full name is Dick-wad." Jason answer for his older brother.
Dick slaps the back of his brother's head. "It's Richard." There was a pause before Dick speaks up again, "Why is Dick short for Richard? Who came up with that?" Dick asked, genuinely curious.
"In the Middle Ages, it was a trend to rhyme things. Rich or Rick was actually the shorten name for Richard, but then Rick evolved into Dick." Alfred answer somewhere off camera.
"That was the infamous Alfred Pennyworth everybody." Jason said.
You read the next question, "Where is Dick Grayson…from?"
A unison of 'o's' sounded from Dick's left (camera right).
"Aren't you like…technically not from anywhere?" Tim asked.
"Kind of, I was born into a traveling circus, so there was like actual city to like call home because the circus was home." Dick explained.
"So nowhere?" Stephanie clarified.
"Your birth certificate actually says Star City because that's where the circus was heading next." Bruce mentioned.
Dick pauses and leans forward to look at Bruce, "They told me that they lost it."
"I have my ways." Bruce said.
"Okay, two more question." you say. "What happened to Dick Grayson?"
Dick looked towards the camera confuse, "Did something happen to me that I'm not aware of?" This makes Stephanie and Jason laugh.
"I think they are talking about the circus accident, honey." you say.
"Oh like what to me after the…oh well to make a long story short, I got adopted by a grumpy rich guy that had no idea what he was getting himself into by taken in a kid that lived in a circus his entire life."
"Never in the history of ever did someone had to child proof chandeliers." Bruce said.
"Is that why the chandeliers are all bolted like that?" Duke asked.
"Yes, because Dick kept swinging on them."
"You know everyone thinks that Jay was the trouble, rowdy kid, but it was actually Dick." you pointed out. "Alright last question…you wanna read it Dami?"
"Dick Grayson…butt contest?" Damian read out.
Dick hides his face while his siblings laugh at him.
"So…" Dick began to say, face still hidden behind his hand. "So Teen Vogue put me in a contest for who had the greatest ass or something like that." Dick removes his hand from his face. "They had Nightwing also in that contest and it was down between me and him and I lost…which is utter…crap. I definitely have the better ass, but yeah that's that." Dick explained.
Damian tosses the board lightly off camera and another board was handed to Duke.
"Damian this one is yours." Duke said. "Is Damian Wayne…vegan?"
"Vegetarian. They are entirely different despite what people might think." Damian informs with a matter-of-fact voice.
"Is Damian Wayne…" Duke begins the next question before Damian can go into detail about the difference between vegans and vegetarians. Duke pulls back the tabs and slightly laughs at it before speaking. "Is Damian Wayne a test tube baby?"
Jason fell towards Dick in a belly laugh. Stephanie was also laughing and clutching onto Tim for support. Damian crossed his arms in a pout and you pulled him in and gave him a little frown.
"Oh wow, how did you guys get Tim's search history?" Jason joked. Tim threw his hands up in defense.
"I think they are confusing me with the clon-" you covered Damian's mouth before he could say too much.
"Is this really what people are searching?" Bruce asked.
Jason straighten up and wiped tears from his eyes, "I think that's the best question we are going to get this entire video."
"No Damian is not a test tube baby." you answer as you removed your hand from Damian's mouth.
"Well…" Tim began and that seem to set off a vocal stim amongst the siblings.
Damian glared daggers at his brothers.
"Stop it." Bruce warned.
"What is Damian Wayne's…favorite animal?" Duke read.
"All of them, it's hard to chose a favorite." Damian states.
Cassandra leans over and whispers something into his ear. It was the first time she had say anything the entire video. Though she is know to be the quite one and not one for speaking.
"Cassandra said that I should mention all of my pets that I have." Damian repeats what Cass said to him.
"You have have like 20 animals." Tim said.
"This is gonna be a minute." Dick stated.
"There's Alfred The Cat, he a tuxedo cat so it makes him look like a butler. So I named him after our butler. Ace and Titus are mostly father's pet Doberman, but they like me more. Then there is Bat-Cow, she has marking on her face that make it look like she is wearing a mask like the bats and then I'm gonna count Grayson's dog Haley because I watch her a lot and then…" Damian turns to look at Bruce. No words where exchanged between the two, but you knew what Damian was asking. "And then there is Goliath, he's a dragon bat."
"You just unintentionally answered the next question." someone says off camera.
Everyone looked towards Duke as he pulled off the tab to the last question.
"How many pets does Damian Wayne have?"
"Are you fucking psychic or something, Cass? Jason asked looking at her.
Cass gives a knowing smile.
The next board was pass and Stephanie grabbed it.
"Oh this should be good." she said and looked at Tim, who was beside her. "Is Tim Drake…" she pulls the tab, "Gay?"
"I lied I think Tim's questions are going to be the best." Jason said.
Tim sighs, already over it, "Yes, bisexual. Next question."
"Does Tim Drake…" Stephanie reveals the rest of the question and instantly falls out of the chair in laughter. Everyone was confuse.
"Wait what did it say?" Dick asked leaning back to look at Steph who was on the floor.
Tim snatched up the board from her and read it. "Does Tim Drake have a spleen..okay you know what, we're done."
Tim tosses the board and walks off screen. Stephanie was now in tears on the ground. Dick and Jason were now also laughing. Cass was smiling, laughing silently.
"Drake is very sensitive about his spleen." Damian said.
"Tim, baby, come back." you say.
Bruce looks back at Stephanie, "Stephanie…" there was a bit of amusement in his voice.
"Steph, honey." you said.
The was a cut in the video, everyone was in recovery form laugh, Stephanie was wiping the tears from her eyes and every once in a while she would threaten to start laughing again, but would compose herself.
"Okay look the whole spleen thing." Tim began and this time Jason was the one to break, "Jason!"
"I'm sorry, the situation was funny." Jason said.
"Okay so I got stabbed. When you live in Gotham there is a fifty percent chance you are going to get caught in something." There was some gasps from the crew. "Hold on, don't gasps yet. I kept it a secret. Bruce and mom where out of town along with Alfred," Bruce could feel his blood pressure rise the more Tim tells the story, "So I tried to take care of it myself. Ended up getting an infection from it, got really sick. Dumb and dumber had to take me to the hospital, where I had to get my spleen taken out."
You and Bruce were shaking your heads.
"This is where we also learned that Tim is like a freaking Victorian child. A common cold could actually kill him." Dick said.
"Should also mention that Bruce had to demand to get your spleen back and now we have it in a jar." Stephanie said.
"Yeah, so that is the spleen story, so now everyone stop talking about my spleen." Tim said to the camera.
"Tim Drake coffee order." Stephanie says.
"Black coffee with half a pound of sugar." you say.
"It is not that much sugar." Tim corrected.
"Timothy." you said with a stern voice.
"It's a lot of sugar." Tim said, defeated.
Stephanie reveal the last question, "Tim Drake's age."
Tim went to answer, but Jason stopped. "Hold up, hold up. I think we should have the old man answer this."
"I know how old all of you are." Bruce stated.
"Do you though?" you looked back at your husband. He looked at you offended.
"Dick's 25, Damian is 11, Duke is 16, Jay you're 19…"
"That sounds like a question." Jason stated.
"It wasn't. Cassie is also 19, older by two weeks. Tim and Steph are 18."
You looked surprised, "Wow, I'm surprised, you normally get them mixed up."
"Jason's turn." Dick says holding the board. "Is Jason Todd…Bruce Wayne's biological son?"
Jason rolled his eyes, "Really."
It should be noted that Bruce and Jason were sitting the exact same way with their arms crossed and a scowl on their face.
"Multiple blood test have been done and we can confirm, for now at least, that Jason and Bruce have no biological relations." you state.
"I think it's the fact that DNA test have to even be done." Tim said.
"You guys do scarily look alike though, even Dick, Tim, and even Cass have some resembles." Duke said.
Cass got your attention and started to sign to you.
"Do you remember when we found that one picture and we all thought it was Jason, but turns out it was actually just a young Bruce." you translate Cass' signing.
"I don't see it." Bruce says looking at his children, which makes the crew laugh.
"Is Jason Todd…dead?"
"Only on the inside." Jason says and he moves before you could wack him because he just knows. "Um…I was. Well I was presume dead anyways."
"Dude has a whole grave and everything." Stephanie said.
Dick pulls the tab back to the third question, "What happened to Jason Todd?"
"That's a loaded question." Tim says.
"A lot." Jason states.
"And final question," Dick says, "Why did Jason Todd go missing?"
"Oh my gosh," Jason blurts out, which makes some laugh. "I ran away, I was a kid. Stop Googling me, please." Dick throws the board behind him.
"Oh goodness is it my turn?" you say looking at the board Bruce was holding.
"How did Y/N Wayne and Bruce Wayne meet?" Bruce askes.
"The most rom-com way ever." Dick said.
Bruce made a face, "I wouldn't say that."
"Bruce didn't like me when we met." you say. The news of this makes the children gasps. You nod, "Yeah He tried to find ways to get rid of me actually because he didn't think I was needed. I was hired on as Bruce's assistant though really I was working for Alfred cause someone didn't want to run their own company." you dissed.
Bruce lean down to kiss the top of your head, "I'm glad my attempts weren't successful, my love." he said.
Jason reads the next question, "How did Bruce Wayne propose to Y/N Wayne?"
"Well it was suppose to be a surprise, but someone couldn't keep their mouth shut and crash the proposal site." Bruce grumbles.
Dick had a guilty look on his face, "Listen I was excited, I didn't know it was suppose to be a surprise."
"I quite literally told you that it was when I tucked you into bed that night."
"To answer the question though, we went to the Gotham Botanical Garden because there was a new statue exhibit that were like copy of famous renaissance sculpture, but I had to pretend like I didn't know what was happening because Dick told me that night before leaving for dinner." you said.
Bruce has the board back in his hands now, "Y/N Wayne's birthday."
"Yeah Bruce, when's ma's birthday?" Jason asked.
"It was one time…" Bruce address.
"One time too many." you said giving him a look.
"It's May twenty-second." Bruce said.
"Is Y/N Wayne…" Bruce lifts the tab, but puts it back when he read what underneath it.
You furrow you eyebrows at him, "What?"
Jason leans over Bruce to pull the tab away, "Pregnant." An uproar started which causes you to laugh.
"There is already enough of us!" Steph exclaim.
"There's no way this is how you tell us." Tim adds.
Duke and Cass where beaming compare to Dick, Jason, Tim, and Stephanie. Damian's expression was unreadable.
"No I am not pregnant." you say.
"You're smiling!" Jason points out.
"I was just laughing."
"I'm not convinced."
"Last board." Duke announces.
"Last board!" the rest children said (minus Damian and Cass) in various different ways.
"Alright. How to get adopted by the Wayne family?" Tim reads off.
"Be an orphan or semi-orphan." Dick said.
"Have a lot of trauma." Tim adds.
"And you too just might be picked up off the streets by Bruce Wayne." Jason finishes.
"Or you can be like me and just stick around long enough that you eventually get you own room and become a dependent on taxes." Steph says.
You laugh at your children's antics while Bruce just shakes his head. Something that he seems to do a lot through the video.
"How many kids are in the Wayne Family?" Duke reads the next question.
"Legally or…" Bruce asked, which makes the crew laugh. "Legally everyone here minus Stephanie who, beyond contrary belief, won't let us adopt her. So don't let what she says fool you."
Stephanie beams.
"Does the Wayne Family own Gotham?" Dick reads.
"No." Bruce answers, "We are one of the founding families, but none of us really own anything. Gotham is run by the people…I just help fund it."
"The Wayne family corrupt." Jason reads.
"Again no." Bruce restates, "My father made questionable choices, but it was all driven by the love he had for my mother."
"And it seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." Jason said as he grabs Bruce's shoulder.
The last broad gets flung somewhere off screen.
"Well that's it, I hope everyone was satisfied with our answers." you say.
"Thank WIRED for having us and apologizes to the crew members that were almost taken out by flying boards." Bruce said.
The children all wave to the camera and the video ends.

Bruce's face the entire time during the pregnancy question, oh she is definitely pregnant.
@ tessabp17
Not them throwing Bruce under the bus the entire time.
@ clairebear646
Why didn't Stephanie, Duke, or Cassandra have a board??
→ @ tjt5841
Cass is really private, Duke is also private and still new to the family, he's just being foster by the Waynes, and Stephanie is just there.
@ nicodegallo
Stephanie is essentially a squatter in the family. She has squatter rights lol.
@ bee2free
No because Damian looks the least like Bruce and he is the only one actually related to him.
→ @ justiceforjay007
They all look so alike, I forget that none of them are related to one another
→ @ snaillover365
Tim and Cass could literally be twins
add. notes: Lore is ovbiously changed because the internet/people can't know that the Wayne are in fact the Batfamily.

Headcannon that the reason Bruce hates Connor is because he is a constant reminder that Lex Luthor has one up on him (having a biological kid with Superman).
Wow...I didn't not think everyone would like the interview series so much. It was just my silly little idea and now I feel like everyone is going to have high standards, don't. I'm still new to writing, so it will probably be shit lol

October 31st, 1994
Hufflepuff students were eagerly decorating the common room for Cedric's return. Two seventh years boys were hanging a 'congratulations' banner with the direction from the Head Girl.
"No! Higher– no Axel not you, I was talking to Ben."
You watched from one of the book nooks in the corner of the common room. Away from all of the commotion. The barrel door to the common room opened and Alec, the Head Boy, comes rushing in.
"He's coming!" he shouted and everyone started to scramble in excitement.
When the barrel door open again, Cedric was already beaming. All of Hufflepuff house was making noise for their champion. All expect you anyways, who couldn't seem to get rid of the sinking feeling in you when you thought about the tournament. Opting for a fake smile and quite claps. Cedric was bombarded with question immediately. Poor guy didn't even make it past the threshold of the door.
"Did they tell you about the first task?"
"What happened with Potter?"
"Yeah are they letting him compete?"
"Did he tell you how he did it?"
Cedric looked overwhelmed with the amount of questions, but answer them to the best of his abilities.
"They didn't tell us what the actual task was, but it's suppose to test our daring and will take place on the twenty-fourth." he explained.
"What about Potter?" someone asked again.
The smile on Cedric's face was gone. "Harry? Well according to Mr. Crouch he has to compete. Something about being magically contracted too."
A chorus of groans sounded around.
"That's a load of bullocks, Potter can't go one year without him being the center of attention." Axel said. An agreement of 'yeahs' came after that statement. "You're our real champion, Ced!"
It had been two hour when Cedric had finally escape his ever adoring fans and made his way to you.
"Hey you." He greeted.
You look up from the book you were reading and a shiver went down your spine. "Hey."
"Couldn't help. but notice you all alone over here. Butterbeer?" Cedric holds out one of the butterbeer in his hand to you.
You take it and he takes it as an invite to sit on a pillow on the floor in front of you.
"Thanks." you said and then down the drink in one go. If your lucky, the alcohol will numb the sick feeling. Cedric huffs out a laugh of disbelief.
"Impressive." Cedric said. "Um…look I'm sorry for what Axel said about Potter. I'm sure he didn't mean…"
"No I think he did…I know what people think of Harry behind his back." you tell him.
"Well I don't think what everyone else might think." Cedric takes a sip of butterbeer before speaking again. "I think he's a good kid, with good intentions that had something very unfortunate happen to him. I wouldn't know what to do if I lost my parents." Someone called Cedric's name.
"You should probably get back." you said.
"Join me." Cedric asked getting up from the floor.
You decline with a smile, "I think I'm going to turn in actually."
"Oh…yeah I guess it is pretty late…or early. I don't exactly know what time it is." Cedric said.
He bid you a goodnight before going back to his friends.
November 1st, 1994
There was trouble in paradise, of course there was. It seem the trio couldn't go one year without them fighting with each other. This time it was Harry and Ron, who seem to not be speaking to each other.
"He doesn't still think I entered myself does he?" Harry asked Hermione.
"Not really? What the bloody hell is that suppose to mean?"
"Well…I think he's jealous…" Hermione said.
"Jealous?!" Harry said incredulously, "What would he have to be jealous of? That I'm in the tournament? Hermione, I don't want to be."
"Look," Hermione pleaded, "It's always you, Harry. The one who gets all the attention and before you say anything I know you don't ask for it. But Ron is…well always shunted to the side."
"Great, really great." Harry said bitterly, "Well tell him he's welcome to swap places with me. Getting gawked at everywhere you go, people wanting to see your bloody forehead."
"I'm not going to be your owl, tell him yourself." said Hermione.
"I'm not running around the castle after him trying to make him grow up! Maybe he'll believe me once I've broken my neck or-"
"Harry!" you gasped. Harry and Hermione jumped at the sound of your voice. They forgot that you were even there. Even though they joined you at the table. "Don't say things like that." you tell him. The boy mumble out a 'sorry'.
"You should write to Sirius, he going to want to know what's been happening." Hermione whispered.
You perked up, "You've been writing to Sirius? How is he?"
Harry and Hermione had finally gotten around to telling you what happen after you were attacked the end of term.
"He's fine, I suppose. He asks about you actually…a lot, but no I was writing to Sirius…I've stop now." Harry stated.
"He asked you to keep him posted on everything going on." Hermione reminded him.
"He already came back to the country and risk getting caught all because of my scar. He'll burst into the castle if I tell him about the Triwizard Tournament."
The imagine of Sirius Black bursting into the castle like your gran popped into your head, but Sirius wouldn't risk getting thrown back into Azkaban…right?
"He's going to find out anyways through the Daily Prophet, so better that it comes from you." Hermione said sternly.
"Alright, alright find, but he told me not to use Hedwig." Harry said.
"You can use Atlas, I've got to send Remus a letter anyways. " you told Harry.
You hadn't sent a letter to your father since before the World Cup. You wish he was still teaching, wanting nothing more than his comforting present and advice. You have been keeping the vision from Halloween night all to yourself so far. You didn't really know what to make of it.
That's the lie you keep telling yourself anyway.
November 6th, 1994
It has been almost a week since Halloween and Hogwarts was divided. Well…not really. The Gryffindors were the only ones who were proud and in support of Harry being a Hogwarts Champion, while everyone else (Syltherins, Ravenclaws, and Hufflepuff) made it vastly known that they weren't happy that Harry was chosen and that Cedric was their true champion.
"Are we going to talk about what happen Halloween night?" George asked you for the fourth time this week. It was just the two of you sitting in your favorite spot out in the open courtyard/lawn where flying classes took place or the occasional game of Summor's Court would be set up.
"You already know the answer to that." you stated as you read your book.
"Love" George began.
"George" you warned.
"What's going to happen? It's bothering you, you're doing better at hiding it than last year, but I know you well enough. Try all you want, but you can't hide anything from me." George counter.
You looked up from your book glancing for a quick distraction. It came in the form of second year students. On the opposite side of the House Crest on their robes lied a pin. It was purple and the words POTTER STINKS flashed on it.
"Oi, you lots." You called to them. They turned frighten that an older student was addressing them. "Where did you get those badges?"
The second years (who were a mix of houses minus Gryffindor) all stared at each other, scared to talk until a Hufflepuff girl finally spilled.
"It came from the Slytherins, they made them." she said.
"Oi!" the Slytherin in the group yelled.
"Take them off now! All of you." you said sternly and they all obey. Taking off the badges and handed them to you before running off.
George, who was still behind you on the ground, look at you with a knowing expression.
"Did you just use children as an excuse to not talk about your problems?"
"I don't have a problem. Halloween was just a fluke." You sat back down and opened your book again.
"A fluke sure…" George said, reaching a hand out to tuck a strain of hair that fell over your face.
You followed his hand to look at him. His eyes were on his own fingers that were now toying with the strand of hair.
"How about we talk about what's got you so distracted lately?" you countered.
George's fingers paused their movement and his eyes met yours. There is a buzz in the air, you have been feeling it since the summer.
"Nothing." he mumbles out.
"Oh please. Talk about knowing on another. I think I know you better than Fred does."
"Impossible." George said, dropping his hand.
A comfortable tension fell upon the two of you.
"It's almost time for class and I need to stop by the owlery." you said a few moments later. You got up and waited for George to follow suite, but he doesn't.
"Yeah I should maybe get to transfiguration before McGonagall has my head." George said.
Your eyebrow knit in confusion. Even if he didn't realize that he did, George followed you like a shadow. A comforting present beside or behind you.
"Okay…yeah." You tried not to sound sad.
Up in the owlery…well actually you didn't make it all the way up because Atlas met you halfway up the stairs.
"Eger, aren't we?" you said to the owl.
Atlas hoots at you when you put the letter down.
"Even if I tell Dumbledore, there is nothing he can do about it. Cedric said they are all magically contracted to compete." you explained to Atlas. "He right though…knowing one's fate is a heavy burden to carry, but maybe I can prevent it."
November 22nd, 1994
You were sitting with Daphne for a change during lunch period. The first task was a couple of days away and the chatter about it was greater than it was for the picking of the champions.
"Okay what's going on with you?" Daphne asked breaking the silence.
"What do you mean?" you questioned.
"Don't act like you don't know." she said. Your fork clatter onto your plate. "You know I've always been in your corner."
"George?"
"Doesn't matter who told me." Daphne stated.
You sigh, "I…caught glimpses of the tournament on Halloween night." you explained, "It doesn't end good..."
"Who?" She inquired.
You hesitated, "Cedric– but I'm not quite sure, it's a little unclear."
"Talk to Dumbledore about it?"
"I haven't talk to anyone about it…well beside Remus and now you."
"You should tell your boyfriend, so he can leave me alone." Daphne stated.
"He's not my-"
The conversation was interrupted by the presence of another – Harry. He looked dreadful, tired even. You frown as you looked at him.
"Harry, what's wrong?" you held your hand up to his forehead to feel if he was possibly getting sick.
He swatted your hand away, "Dragons."
Daphne paused her eating and the two of you shared a look.
"Dragons?" you repeated.
Harry nods, "That's the first task, I've just came from telling Cedric. Also I've…" he paused his sentence and looked over at Daphne. "Um…"
He turns back to you and sits down to address you. Harry talks lowly about his conversation with Sirius in the Gryffindor common room fire place. Sirius has reason to believe that someone tried to comprise Mad-Eye Moody. With the recent Death Eater activity, Dumbledore knew he had to get extra protection this year because of the tournament. Seem it didn't work, whoever still manage to get Harry into harms way. You thought for a moment.
"Your dream…the one you had before the World Cup, you never told me what it was about." you said. Harry hesitated with the presence of Daphne there. "It's okay, she can be trusted."
Daphne smile, "Yeah, I'm not gonna tell Draco all your deep, dark secrets."
"Well um…I was in a graveyard." You sucked in a breath that Harry didn't seem to notice, but Daphne did. "There was a big statue of a reaper on one, but I couldn't read the names on the grave, then I was in a house. It was like I was seeing from someone else perspective. I was looking into a room, Wormtail was there."
Wormtail aka Peter Pettigrew. Wormtail was what your father and Sirius called him because of his animagus form. Fitting for him now, you think. He escape on that faithful night where everything changed.
"There was also another man, but I didn't recognize him from anywhere." continued Harry, "They were talking to him about how they needed to kill another and then I or whoever I was got caught and that was it…the last thing I heard was the killing curse being mutter."
You nod your head as you take it all in, still stuck on the graveyard part. What are the odds that you both seen a graveyard? Was it the same graveyard?
"Your dream and Sirius' concern line up with each other. We might have bigger problems then just someone giving you a death wish." you said.
November 24th, 1994
The first task is taking place today and all afternoon classes have been cancelled. You were jittery all morning. At one point during Charms, Beth had placed her hand upon your knee because you were bouncing it so much. If you were feeling like this, you couldn't imagine how Harry was feeling or even Cedric.
Up where the dragon arena was, you stood with the twins, who decided to start a gambling pool like Bagman did at the World Cup. You would scold them if you weren't so worked up. You saw Professor McGonagall guide Harry to the champion tent
When Harry saw you, he left McGonagall side and wrapped you in a hug. You squeeze your arms around him. He had gotten taller somehow since you hugged him last at the World Cup, what did Mrs Weasley feed this kid? For once, you let your second sight open intentionally. Just to ease your nerves, but all you see was a dragon and Harry on top of the Gryffindor tower. He pulls away from the hug, but you keep your hands on each other.
"You're going to be fine." You tell him or maybe you tell yourself, you weren't sure.
"Yeah, Charlie will be there if anything happens." George chimed in.
"Ah mum would kill him if he let anything happen to you." Fred added. They were doing their best to try and ease both of your nerves.
"You know what you are going to do?" you asked Harry.
He nods, "Yeah um…I was practicing with Hermione. I've got it."
You pull him into another hug before he walks into the tent. You let out a breathe as you turn to walk to the seating area with the twins, but a twisting feeling in your stomach made you stop. You know who was the cause of it before even turning around – Cedric.
He look just as nervous as Harry, only he was doing a better job at hiding it, but you could still tell.
"Good luck out there." You say to him. Cedric relaxes a little.
"Thanks…I think the nerves just hit me all at once." He said. When you saw him this morning, he seemed fine. Surrounded by his friends who were definitely more excited than Cedric was.
You set up and place a hand on his shoulder. To an outsider it looked like a comforting gesture, but really you just needed an excuse to use your second sight again. Only it didn't work the same way as it did with Harry. Instead you saw darkness and then a sudden flash of green. You're hand drops from his shoulder as you jumped back.
Cedric thinks you trip, so he throws his hands on your waist to steady you. A flash goes off a that exact moment It was blinding. You and Cedric both turn and saw Rita Skeeter, who a great big smile on her face.
"Romance blossoming…mm…everyone loves a good love story." She said. Cedric quickly takes his hand off your waist. "If everything goes unfortunate today…you two may even make the front page."
The last thing you needed was attention. Rita winks at you before moving on to find something else to capture. You looked at Cedric one last time. His cheeks were a lite red color though you couldn't determine if it was because of what just happen or the cold.
Behind you, the twins had witness the whole thing. George, unbeknownst to anyone but Fred, was glaring dagger at Rita or maybe he was looking at Cedric…Fred couldn't really tell. Fred elbow his brother just as you turned back to walk with them.
"Oooh." Fred sings as he wiggles his eyebrow at you.
"Shut up, Fred." you say as you walk pass them.
"Bets! Place your bets!" Fred yelled behind you as you walked through the stands.
"Bets taken! Bets taken here!" shouted George.
"Step up, folks! Who fancies a flutter in today's bloodbath?" Fred asked the crowd.
"Are you two seriously placing bets?" Beau asked when you arrived at your spots She, Beth, Erik, and Ryan were standing in the row behind.
"Of course. Care to place one?" Fred gesture to George, who was wearing the betting box.
"Your attention, please." Dumbledore's voice rang out through the crowd. "This is a great day for all of us." There was a roar from the dragons nearby. It made everyone jump and cheer. This was really going to happen.
"Each of the three tasks involves very considerable danger." Dumbledore continues. "Please keep to your seats at all times. This will minimize any risks you may be exposed to."
To think they said that this tournament had more safety measure than the last.
"I'm sure we all wish our four champions the greatest of luck!" The crowd is cheering again. Dumbledore exits the judges box and disappears to the tent.
It wasn't long before the first dragon was put into the arena. A Swedish Short-Snout was what George told you. A canon sounded and a moment later Cedric enters the battle ground. The crowd started to chant his name as he ready himself. George and Fred started to boo, but Beth knocked the both of them in the head.
Just like at the World Cup, Ludo Bagman was commentating what was happening. You cringe as Cedric dodge the Short-Snout. Holding you breath as you watch anxiously. Cedric got third-degree burns when his transfiguration trick didn't follow through all the way. You wince as you watched it happen, but he still managed to grab the Golden Egg.
"Very good indeed! Bagman shouted, "Next from Beauxbatons, Miss Fleur Delacour!"
Soon it was Harry's time and your nerves have not gone down. In the judges box, you can the other three traumatize from what happen. The canon sounded again and to your surprise the crowd started to chant Harry's name.
You grabbed onto George when the Hungarian Horntail breathed its fire at Harry. Everyone on the side of the fire gasp and leaned back away from the heat. The Horntail was much more brutal than the other three dragons. Slamming it's tail down trying to smash poor Harry like a pumpkin.
"YOUR WAND, HARRY! YOUR WAND!" Hermione shouted down at him. She was standing beside you, with Ron beside her, looking very guilty.
"Accio Firebolt!" Harry said with his wand raised.
The crowd cheered when Harry climbed onto his broomstick. Of course, it was his natural gift, Quidditch. The task became as nothing more than a game of Quidditch to Harry. He was trying to bait the dragon to fly, to chase him.
It was working…a little too well as the Horntail spread her leathery wings and began to fly up to Harry. She rose high enough until the chain collar that was tighten. As the Horntail flew up, Harry dived quickly to seized the egg. Seeing Harry near her eggs, broke something within the Horntail and before anyone could react, the Horntail snapped the chain of her collar.
The crowd gasp in horror, there was now a loose dragon on the ground and it wanted Harry bad. Your grip on George's arm tighten, you fear you might have left a bruise. The dragon keepers rushed to the battle ground to try and subdue the Horntail, but she just breathe her fire at them and then started after Harry.
"FLY HARRY!" You yelled.
Harry began to fly out of the arena with the Horntail tailing him. The dragon's tail knocked into the judges box on it's way out and the crowd applauded at the sudden entertainment they were getting.
"Well done dragon!" Fred cheer, which earned him another knock on the head from Beth.
You think your going to be sick. You press yourself into George's arm, who instead moves to allow you to tuck yourself into his chest instead and throw an arm around you.
There was a silence in the air that was waiting to burst. Everyone was looking towards the castle where Harry and the Horntail had few off too. Some of the Dragon Keepers got on brooms and went after them. It felt like a lifetime to you, but really only ten minutes go by before Harry with a smokey trail behind him emerges from the fog and back onto the battlefield.
George squeeze your upper arm as the crowd began to cheer. You look back up to see him land safely back on the ground, golden egg in hand. There were Professors waiting for him on the ground. McGonagall rushed him back to the champion tent and you felt like you could finally breathe again.
Hermione and Ron quickly left the stands as soon as Harry was out of sight. Thank Merlin, George still had an arm around you because all the anxiety wanted to make you collapse.
"Are you alright?" George asked rubbing your arm.
"That boy gonna be the death of me." you joked, but George didn't think it was funny.
"Don't say that…" he mumble. George removed his arm around you and you frown at the missing warmth he had provided.
"I'm kidding…it's you and Fred who will be the death of me." you say.
Back at the Gryffindor common room, Harry stood in the middle of the crowd as fellow Gryffindor cheer for him. You stood with Beth, who accompany you wanting to give her praise to Harry and to also make sure you were okay. The twins held Harry up on their shoulders.
"Knew you wouldn't die, Harry." said Fred.
"Lose a leg-" said George.
"or an arm."
Harry found you in the crowd later. You engulf him into a hug that squeeze him so tight that you might pop a rib if you continue. He tapped out of the hug and when you release him, you punch him.
"Ow! What was that for?" Harry asked, rubbing his shoulder.
"For scaring me, you dimwit." you said.
"You were scare?! How did you think I felt?"
Beth laughed, "It was very brave of you Harry."
"Thanks…let's just hope the next task doesn't involve me dangling from 50 feet on the side of the castle." Harry joked.
