While working on a better Morrowind chiptune... this happened.
I "MAY" have swapped out the samples (individual sounds) I was using... with some select .wavs from my Windows/Media directory. Oops.
Don't be put off my the slow start either. It gets... better. Yea. Lets say better. Logo done in the GIMP, no surprises there.
Just for the record. Not affiliated with Bethesda OR Microsoft... and after this I probably won't even be allowed to visit.
I'm trying to learn how to use trackers to make chiptunes, so while I learn, I made a short tribute to one of my favorite games of all time.
This file was a 54 kb .xm before conversion to .mp3. It was made by ear and from memory. The album art was a low-res quicky in The GIMP.
Just a warning, some of it is fairly high in pitch and loud, so just turn your system volume down a tab before playing.
Tumblr Updated Terms and Conditions
Given Tumblr's new stance of being owned by Yahoo, I felt the desire to clear two things up regarding an archaic by default US "law" and possible assumption, and who has the rights to do what with my information:
I consider the below two paragraphs to be legally binding, to the maximum extent permitted by the law.
My providing of "personal information" to any medium, in this specific case "Tumblr", does NOT constitute a waiver, assumption or implication that I do not care about the privacy of said "personal information". In this case, "personal information" is any information that I give to, or is gathered by, "Tumblr" and extends to any information of that kind regarding my account, not a specific blog, and that is NOT "content", here known as information I make clearly public as material in my "blog".

A birthday present for a great friend. Two paperclips, some Polymer clay, a quartz crystal and a dash of acrylic paint.
Time's up!
Well, as of typing this sentence, I've been up over 31 hours.
Part of this was to try and get my sleep in sync, but I was also curious how I handle sleep deprivation. Apparently reasonably well! I would describe how I feel as: alarmingly well. It's slightly concerning.
I think the order of the night is a movie, snack and some ice cold water. I don't get what people have been complaining about, this isn't hell on earth. This is beautiful Australian weather. Enjoy summer Tumblrs!
24 Hours
Well, 24 hours into my no-sleep, 30 odd hours, self-challenge to reset my body clock.
I'm intrigued to note that until at least 20 hours awake I didn't feel any drowsy symptoms. Mostly any desire to curl up and sleep was for comfort or boredom reasons! I've had a reasonably productive day actually, although I haven't gotten much done of what I wanted to do, I have however finished what I needed to do today. Namely send and reply to emails regarding course selections for uni and obtaining some paying computer work.
I am a little slower than I was this morning, which is no surprise, but a quick walk in the house seems to do wonders for this, it also seems playing Anno 2070 while trying not to nap is... not entirely a good idea. I love the game, it just has a very relaxed pace and soundtrack. The near-liter of iced coffe I made (not to mention very weak iced coffee, I drink it for the flavor) also seems to have a sedating effect, but can be overcome.
Strange side effect: My neck has gotten a "little" rock-hard. No fear of vampires for me. I'll be alerted to the feeding attempt by the sounds of shattering teeth. At least my back has stopped aching.
Oddly enough, I am actually having an easier time (read: "less horrific time") spelling. I assume that I'm using smaller words, not to mention having to think longer before I can proverbially pen them.
Well, all seems to be going well. I might have a quick stretch. Party on Tumblrs.
Finally! I gave this little package to a good friend the other day so I can finally reveal it's existence, I bring you RAPTURE REMEDUIM'S PLASMID STABILIZATION... PLASMID!
I wanted to make something Bioshock themed, as that is something she likes, so I thought as I was playing it at the time I'd try making a plasmid and a reproduction poster! Well, I found this slightly deviant glass bottle at the $2 store so I thought I'd run with it, one thing led to another and I ended up with this!
Plasmids are well known for "Splicers", those driven mad by ADAM, the Plasmid's "active ingredient" if you will, I thought I'd "reveal" a product that may have well been in Rapture... before being shut-down by an unscrupulous Ryan or Fountain of course!
Some stuff el-cheapo, some left-over polymer clay, some gold spray-paint and a DIY poster in the GIMP with a width over 3500 pixels got quite a nice result, wouldn't you say? (The pocket watch is a gift from another friend, purely there for style reasons!)
30h Countdown: Early Morning Thoughts
...
"Early Morning" is not something I expected to write this summer, let alone see.
Anyway, I never realized just how much bother my whacked out schedule was saving me. Having breakfast with my parents (not that I was "breaking" any "fasts" with my midnight munchies mind you) was more aggravating than I expected. With the exception of being told of having to fill my day with two particular tasks in the first few minutes of saying "hello", most grating was responses to subjects brought on my the morning TV show.
Thinly veiled but silent disapproval for allowing Melbourne's homeless into otherwise off-limits areas (like council office foyers and free access to a dip in the local pool(s) & cold shower), disbelief in climate change (I don't know either way, but I'm not ruling out either UNTIL I seek for and see valid proof one way or another, I'm a little out of the loop at the moment, either side may have new evidence) and a reminder that these individuals would approve of torpedoing refugee craft and things of this ilk.
My parents are normally fantastic people. I like to think they raised me reasonably well, or were a good influence, or something, but when it comes to these kind of "contentious topics" they tend to side on the "black and white" kind of thinking. Not all people on the street ended up there due to some addiction. Some are just people for who life has been particularly cruel.
At least I know, at 18 hours I don't get grumpy as per say. I get virtuous...I think. Time will tell.

30 Hour Countdown
Well Tumblrs, I found myself at 2:30 this morning finally getting to bed... and immediately leaving it.
Why?
Lately my sleeping habits... haven't exactly synced up with the day-night cycle... at all.
I stay up late because I'm not tired, and sleep in late because I'm knackered. So I figured, "I'll just stay up for the however-many hours it takes for the next sensible sleep-time to come around. Good idea me!"
I then did some math. I got out of bed about 2:30pm - 3:00pm (not the worst mind you)... as of right now, I've been up 18-odd hours. If I am to wait for 9pm tonight I've got to make 30 hours.
Needless to say, if I was looking for a good time to update my Tumblr, well, now I have ALL day.
Yay! As you can see, I've finally finished the legs from the thighs down, and as promised... a here comes a little surprise (although as you had to scroll past the images to read this... yea lets ignore that shall we?)
...
... (suspense filled wait) ...
...
The Mark 20 Python armor from Iron-man 3!
Since it is just a re-skin of mark 7, 17 and 33 (avengers, Heartbreaker (legs) and silver centurion (helm)) all I needed was these pieces to build a bad-ass cosplay.
With a lick of digital paint and some small modifications to the thighs, I now have half of the parts I'll need to make some awesome armor, how you ask? Well read on...
I plan to build the suit using a program called "Pepakura", you know how you can flatten a cube so it makes a 2D "net" and you can fold it back up again? Same principle, but computer modeled 3D files.
This isn't new, in fact, the amazing files I'll be using for the Mk 7 pieces come from here on the Replica Prop Forum by an amazingly talented dude called Darkside501st's... What IS new(ish) is how I plan to re-enforce the paper.
I plan to use a thin layer of something like this Paper Mache Clay | Ultimate Paper Mache, but perhaps something with stiffer fibers, and re-enforced with a layer of something strong but flexible, be it calico cloth with heaps of glue or something mad like fly-wire screening, not sure yet... I'm open to ideas! (Trying to avoid the popular fiberglass option)
Now I just need to unfold my new files, size everything up verses my body (whats the point if the armor doesn't fit!) and start printing!
I'll update as I do things here, but as I'm going away for a few days for Christmas, it will have to wait.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Working on two top-secret projects at the moment, so I must resist to post about them, but here is a teaser of the Heartbreaker 3D model I've been making... Once I finish the shins and kneecaps I'll have a surprise for you all! (Hopefully)
My latest mis-adventure: The Silver Centurion Helmet (left is my model, the right is a reference pic), one of my two fav suits, the other being "Nightclub", both by the concept artist Andy Park. Coincidence? I think not.

Hey Tumblr! I just thought I'd update with some of what I've been working on lately, as of the last week or so I've been tearing into Blender, a free 3D modeling tool (amongst other things).
I'm a big lover of Iron man, and all of the suits in IM3... well! I decided I'd try my hand at reproducing some of the suits, or at least parts. I've downloaded heaps of suit pieces from websites like the Replica Prop Forum but I'd like to fill some gaps.
In decending order (and order of creation), the variant of the Silver Centurion chestpiece with a round arc reactor, basic Heartbreaker and Red Snapper helmets (and their unfolds with Pepakura so they can be printed and built!) and my latest effort, a higher quality Heartbreaker helmet, only missing the chin strap (and the cheek things attached to it) and side box things.
Hey guys! I decided that my Tumblr has been looking a bit... sparse. So I've decided to go through some of my old projects and upload stuff from them to entertain strangers on the internet.
Here is an Instructable I did early 2012 for a contest, the title says it all! Even if you don't use this Instructable as a recovery tool, Live CDs (which are covered within) are a great way to learn about different operating systems, in this case Linux, without having to mess up your computer!
