Is it ever gonna be enough?Β Is it ever gonna be enough?Β Is it ever gonna be enough?
MK 20 is my fave suit so here is a thing of that
MARK 11-20
Yay! As you can see, I've finally finished the legs from the thighs down, and as promised... a here comes a little surprise (although as you had to scroll past the images to read this... yea lets ignore that shall we?)
...
... (suspense filled wait) ...
...
The Mark 20 Python armor from Iron-man 3!
Since it is just a re-skin of mark 7, 17 and 33 (avengers, Heartbreaker (legs) and silver centurion (helm)) all I needed was these pieces to build a bad-ass cosplay.
With a lick of digital paint and some small modifications to the thighs, I now have half of the parts I'll need to make some awesome armor, how you ask? Well read on...
I plan to build the suit using a program called "Pepakura", you know how you can flatten a cube so it makes a 2D "net" and you can fold it back up again? Same principle, but computer modeled 3D files.
This isn't new, in fact, the amazing files I'll be using for the Mk 7 pieces come from here on the Replica Prop Forum by an amazingly talented dude called Darkside501st's... What IS new(ish) is how I plan to re-enforce the paper.
I plan to use a thin layer of something like this Paper Mache Clay | Ultimate Paper Mache, but perhaps something with stiffer fibers, and re-enforced with a layer of something strong but flexible, be it calico cloth with heaps of glue or something mad like fly-wire screening, not sure yet... I'm open to ideas! (Trying to avoid the popular fiberglass option)
Now I just need to unfold my new files, size everything up verses my body (whats the point if the armor doesn't fit!) and start printing!
I'll update as I do things here, but as I'm going away for a few days for Christmas, it will have to wait.
Merry Christmas everyone!
