The total correctional population consists of all offenders under the supervision of the adult correctional systems, which includes offenders supervised in the community under the authority of probation or parole agencies and those held in the custody of state and federal prisons or local jails. The number of prisoners under the jurisdiction of state and federal correctional authorities at year end 2012 is 7 million ,about 2.9% of adults in the U.S. (or 1 in every 34 adults) The purpose of this project is to encouraged listeners to make a positive change & to discouraged future generations from lives of crime.
