Kindhearted and honest, “The Villain” is the quietly-buoyant new single from Toronto-based singer and songwriter Brooklyn Doran, and it comes accompanied by a vivid cinemagraphic lyric video. The track is one of seven on her soon-to-be-released These Paper Wings LP, which is out on September 9th. You can pre-order digital and CD versions of it from her Bandcamp page.

As Summer’s warmth and long days fade, Toronto’s Brooklyn Doran will release her next album, entitled These Paper Wings, one she recorded at Hamilton, Ontario’s Catherine North Studios, a converted church. Its first single “Paper Wings” began as a poem, and in the ensuing years and with her imagination it soars with heartfelt nostalgia and kindness. The album will be released on September 10th, but you can download this track and more of her music from her Bandcamp page now.
