i originally wrote this before the last act dropped in cinemas, so don't worry, there's not any spoilers. it does, however, due to that, include some theories that may be considered "outdated" or "not canon"
bc hotel valhalla is REALLY close to being an actual tadc setting. they're both stuck there, have lil adventures to go on but essentially can't die, and have to spend the foreseeable eternity in there. there's an all powerful god who's in charge and the cast are lucky he likes them, because if he didn't.. it probably wouldn't go well. they each have rooms tailored to them (though in tadc they aren't as kind as in mcga).
magnus is obviously our pomni-adjacent character. newcomer, freaking out, helps nearly everybody talk it out at some point. i feel like design-wise, he'd probably have a design that reflects his fear of being a burden to others, or perhaps the fear of being vulnerable (thanks to @stopitniobe for the character discussion surrounding this lol) wanna say something that sits on a shelf and ideally is really hard to move / "useless", or easily breakable. a porcelain doll could work?
tj jr i feel would well be a ragatha-adjacent guy. still definitely retaining his personality, but the person to welcome magnus in, be there for him and worry abt if he's doing ok. i wanna think of a design that would make him upset, maybe something that limits his agency? i think tj cares a lot about his ability to choose for himself, and to live his life in control of it, so something very one-note would feel appropriate. the best i can think of is a tin soldier, but you're all welcome to workshop this with me
yeah okay mallory is lowkey the odd one out in not having a counterpart, but that's not important to me. i think her design could take from her having a tough exterior and feeling like she has to prove herself? i think it'd be very fun to make her fully useless, like a slinky.
halfborn is kind of jax adjacent, but also not entirely? he's def the most antagonistic to zooble/alex, but in halfborn's case, it's not malicious, he's just blunt and curious (sometimes in a pointy way). i feel what would work best is a plushie. not only functionally "useless" and static (which to a guy who picks up so many hobbies must be horrible), but also completely misrepresents his strength and rage, both attributes on which he draws with pride
alex is a transformer toy - it's transform enough so it seems like a vague hatecrime, but also it's very "boyish" and doesn't actually allow her to transform or be fluid at all beyond some very basic stuff. alex is obviously a zooble parallel, but zooble's inversion in the way that alex would be delighted to have zooble's body ithink
blitz and hearth are "NPCs" (they're both like gumigoo). they're there for magnus when he's freaking out a lot and help reassure him about purpose and existence . and also eventually get snapped i think that would be funny . tempted to make them a black and a white chess piece but come on. AND also come back in a later adventure and it shakes magnus tf up
ok so samirah is interesting bc . she could theoretically be like a bubble-type situation, but that's much more a thing for one of odin's ravens. i think it could be v interesting to make her abel? it could correspond with her canon role where she is the one to help floor 19 sneak out for adventures outside valhalla – there's the whole debate on if abel is real or not; i personally believe he's more real than he isn't, and possibly some part scratch? idk man :sob: i just feel it would be interesting to have sam be that figure
i was obv thinking about odin!caine but a thought crossed my mind about ep8's intro. blue+red ai: what if we say odin and loki were those two(?) dots? what if we say that caine at least outwardly looks like odin, but there's more sides of him fighting internally and when he fully loses it in ep8, that's loki taking control a lot more? it would also make it interesting given samirah/abel alex/zooble and zooble following abel's commands almost religiously . and abel being (at the very least in the final scene) controlled by caine. give me father-daughter dysfunction give it to meeeeeee
(which of course fits rly nicely in with zooble being ai (not so sure about a creation of caine, in tadc i don't think so, but in mcga!tadc i think that'd be pretty neat) - sorry i just remembered this was meant to be a more mcga than tadc post . sorry folks)
anyway. the committee. i think it's tricky bc in tadc, the committee are clearly the souls of the abstracted cast members, but in mcga, i feel we have like three options: the gods / the actual humans who went insane in valhalla / the board of directors of HV . i think a combination of all of those works, and the mcga version could just be more complex with it, idk.. yeah no actually loki/odin having consumed the board of directors before getting eaten himself is a rly fun idea i wanna explore that. that's like. hmmm they're in his head.
anyway i think it would be v fun to have odin-loki torture them on adventures. which would obviously be set in various of the nine worlds (or enviroments similar to them)
