yess!!! for a lot of eridians, carrying around their pebbles with a spare arm or two is sufficient. baby carriers and wraps are relatively novel, for parents with big clutches, or for the very busy - which adrian absolutely is.

first, rocky and grace are two veerryy different babies. grace likes to be held close and secure where rocky is climbing all over adrian; its just easier to wrap grace up and let rocky go go go. second, adrian has lots of things they want to do! learning human culture, making progress on their personal projects*, touring the biodome... grace is pretty tall and while he's technically holdable, he's a lot more lanky than most pebbles. so the wrap just helps!!

i think grace loves reading to adrian!! (even if sometimes hes a lil too small to be totally understood... adrian will get the details from the human thinking machine later)

i think rocky, grace, and armando (with help from the human thinking machine, of course) come up with a plan to help grace manage PTSD while he's still big. the soother is definitely a little grace thing, but the blanket and lovey help all the time.

poor sweet gracie who is so hesitant and avoidant when someone offers to be his caregiver because he "throws a lot of tantrums and fits. honestly he's such a hassle, it isn't worth having to put up with him, really" but really he has really bad meltdowns and flashbacks :(

first time he's small with them and has a "tantrum" where he's biting and scratching at himself and pulling at his hair and his carer realizes "oh no, he thinks he's misbehaving by having meltdowns" and they're just so so sad and need to make sure he knows that he's not bad for reacting to big and scary feelings!! they just need to make sure that he does it safely.

early on, he's still really averse to touch while having meltdowns or flashbacks so they need to use mittens so he doesn't hurt himself and he cries even more bc he's so embarrassed that he needs so much help. they eventually learn that blanket burritos and stuffed animals can help keep his hands on something nice and provide a buffer so he can get hugs and cuddles without the touch being too much. of course the best stuffie for the job is his fox, Archimedes (Archie for short)

just grace slowly learning that he's not a bad kid, not a nuisance, not a burden. he's very very loved and worth being comforted and cared for 💛

Graceyyyy baby 😭😭😭💔💔💔 you are SO LOVED, you're not a bad kiddo for how your brain reacts to stuff, others wanna help and ensure you are safe while your brain works things out!!

Ooh he definitely feels like he's misbehaving whenever he has a meltdown (he just gets so overwhelmed and when he's smaller he isn't masking so he's more prone to overstimulated times😭) and every time he's "better" he'll shuffle over to his carer and sheepishly apologize for "being bad" and it breaks his carer's HEART because they know it's gonna take time and lots of reassurance for tiny Grace to know he isn't being bad whenever these moments happen!

don't carry the baby like that ..
