"Put the weapon down. Please." [v; to the stars]
âJust because you have asked nicely does not mean I will lower my weapon without evidence you mean no harm.â
asklokiande:
broodymcbeardking:
Thorin froze when the dragon mentioned the boar. A solitary dwarf versus a full-grown boar would be a very difficult fight. A dwarf and a very small dragon⌠might be more of a fair fight. Thorin slowly loosened his sword in his scabbard as he replied, also barely moving his lips.
âAgreed. You lead the charge.â
What was wrong with him? Agreeing to work with a dragon? When this was over, he would have to be certain to never speak of it to anyone he knew.
Not sparing a glance back, Loki stepped around Thorin in a wide arc. Swiftly, she moved from a walk, to a trot, then a canter, before putting on a burst of speed and leaping into the air, wings beating frantically -once, twice, three times- to get herself airborne. She went up and up in a wide spiral, keeping an eye on the boar as she rose, riding the wind.
It had seen her, a sharp blur above the grass that meant death. The boar ran, leaving a trail through the grass as it tried to escape, but it was futile.
Lokiande spun and dove at an angle towards her prey, claws extended. If she could land a hit, she just might be able to drive it towards Thorin. From there it was all up to chance, the power behind each of their attacksâ to bring the creature down.
She shot down, wings tight against her body as she crashed into the boar, bearing her full weight atop the animal. Loki roared and it bucked, tossing itâs head to try and gore the dragon, the two linked by her claws buried into itâs spine and sides. In an attempt to lessen her injures, the drake kept her head and neck raised high while her wings flapped madly to try and balance out the boarâs wild movements, and was able to avoid the worst of the boarâs attacks, but not all.
Both wings were scraped raw in places, at one point the edge of her right got trampled, and she was certain there was a gash along her jaw from where the two had briefly knocked heads. Claws raked repeatedly through thick, coarse fur in retaliation and came away bloody, then the pair separated.
Loki forced herself into the air, limbs aching and possibly bruised while the boar screamed in rage. Gliding low over the grass, the dragon made a beeline for the dwarf.
âThorin, get ready!â She yelled hoarsley. The boar was not far behind, hunting the hunter.
Get ready? For an enraged board, mad with pain? There was a reason why boar spears had a cross bar; injuries would not stop a boar. Death hardly seemed capable of stopping them!
If they were in the woods he would have climbed a tree but they were on a grassy plain with no cover and no option but to try to kill the beast. Unless he could hit the beast in an eye, arrows would be useless against a boarâs thick hide and thicker layers of fat. He was not that skilled of a marksman! Heâd have to use his sword.
If he died here, Dwalin would never let him live it down.
He drew Deathless and prepared to swing and dive out of the way. Heâd be going for the beasts face, hoping to blind it with blood if he couldnât destroy itâs eyes. If it couldnât see them it would be much less effective.
Right?
Then it was upon him and there was no time for strategy, only action! And perhaps a bit of panic. The boar was enormous! He tried to bring his sword around but it was faster than heâd thought possible and he sliced it across the snout, instead of its eyes, causing the beastâs head to jerk and catch its tusk on Thorinâs jerkin, yanking him off of his feet and dragging him along with it!
Cursing loudly in khuzdul Thorin tried to free himself and stay out from under the beasts trampling hooves.
Loki had only just veered off to the side, managing to crash-land into the grass while the boar ran on. She had time for a few deep, labored breaths before she heard yelling. Not the kind of yell that meant victory, or defeat. It was a whole lot of swearing and cursing coming from Thorin as he was swung like a piĂąata on the boarâs tusks. He was swearing in Stone Speech and he was swinging from the boarâs tusks and oh dear god how the fuck did that even happen.
The dragon crouched, frozen in the grass before launching herself straight at the pair, rational thought gone to leave behind hunger and extreme rage. The boar, seeing her lunge, turned to bolt with Thorin still dangling by his shirt.Â
âKILL THIS CURSED THING!â Thorin yelled. Heâd lost his sword and was trying to pull a dagger but with the way he was being swung about and couldnât get at it.Â
What a sorry excuse for a dragon, Thorin thought angrily. THIS was the sort of creature that had rousted his people form their mountain and currently sat upon his throne?Â
At least getting angry would help him not feel so embarrassed about his own poor performance.
OOC: Between work and family I havenât really had time to RP! Iâm so sorry guys. I am trying to squeeze it in but it just is not happening. Iâm hoping to get more time come August.Â
If they had done this in Thranduilâs halls. Uncle Thrandy will have none of your shit.

Hahahha!
"You are looking well this evening."
âJust âwellâ?â
broodymcbeardking:
Thorin snorted and shook his head. That was more what he had been expecting to hear, actually. âDisheveled but still attractive? I appreciate your honesty, Bilbo. I could use a nap, that is certain.â He covered his mouth as a yawn punctuated his sentence.
âAh, but what have you been up to today? For you look radiant to these tired eyes!â
âYou do have a nice hair, among other features.â He confessed. He loved Thorin for beyond the dwarfâs looks, but he did admit that he found the dwarf to be rather handsome, disheveled or not.Â
He came over to the dwarf king, who was tired. Then again, Thorin was working so hard to get Erebor back on its feet after sixty years. That was no easy feat. âNothing substantial compared to what you have been doing, Iâm sure. I cooked, got roped into one of Kiliâs schemes, and I settled a petty bet that some of Dainâs guards were having over the average amount of meals my people eat in a day.â
Thorin patted the space beside him for Bilbo to sit. âDo not undervalue your contributions, Bilbo. I am sure what you have to say about your day is far more interesting than what I have to say about mine.â
âI believe it is seven meals if you can get them, five if you cannot? Please correct me if I am wrong.â

"Don't be mad but I hit your cousin Dain on the head with an iron pan."
âWhy would I be mad? Iâve hit Dain over the head with worse. âŚwhat did he do to deserve a pan?â
broodymcbeardking:
Thorin had to struggle not to laugh at the look on Bilboâs face. âI see,â he said gravely, when he heard that it was Dain who had first gotten violent. âDain will be banished from the dining hall for a week. He may take his meals in solitude in his room. I will see that this is done.â
How dare his favourite cousin try to lay hands upon his favourite hobbit? Dain had to have known such an action would bring retribution from the throne? Ah, such a hothead even now.
âAnd how are you, after being assaulted by my cousin, Bilbo? Do you need to see a healer?â
He sighed and sat down in a nearby. âIâm fine. He didnât touch me. Though you might need to replace a table in the kitchen. It was more shouting and yelling with me. I donât think heâd hurt me physically because he wouldnât want to risk your wrath. But  even so I think Dwalin saw that Dain was looking for a fight and fought him for me before I knocked your cousin out. Not very sportsman like, but Iâd rather not see the kitchen destroyed by some stubborn dwarves. If anyone needs healing, itâs Dwalin and Dain.âÂ
Still, he swallowed. âBesides, you may change your mind after you learn what we were arguing about. It was something that I was going to tell you. I had planned to tell you this evening, but I guess Dain heard somehow after I had what I thought was a private conversation with Balin.â Balin, Dwalinâs brother, a good friend, loyal, and a voice of reason. It only made sense that at times Bilbo would turn to the elder dwarf for council. He let out a breath. âItâs about Thranduil.â
Thorinâs face fell. Ugh. Thranduil. If he didnât think Bilbo would just pack up and leave heâd forbid him from ever contacting that treacherous elf again! âWhat about him?â
"You're daydreaming." (kingofthemirkwoodelks)
âMm? I wasnât! I was just⌠thinking.â *looks nervous at being caught daydreaming*
âAbout who?â
âWhy does it have to be about a person!? Maybe I was daydreaming about lunch?â But Thorin blushed.
âYouâre blushing though.â
âItâs warm in here.â A blatant lie. âOkay, fine, I might have been thinking about someone.â
âAnd who would that someone be?â
Thorin muttered something angrily under his breath. It sounded a bit like he was calling someone a short pain in his arse.
âCome again?â
âYour blasted friend, Bilbo!â
âOh i knew it!â
âI hate myself. Iâm entirely wrong for him!â
âWhys that?â
âHe deserves someone gentle and kind. I have a temper and I have to make hard choices!â
âAnd you have abhorrent table manners.â
âThere you go with stereotypes, again. My table manners are fine. Elves are just prissy.â

"You are looking well this evening."
âJust âwellâ?â
âDo you want me to tell you how you actually look to me right now?â He said. âYou look tired and your hair is a bit of a mess. Thought not unattractive.â
Thorin snorted and shook his head. That was more what he had been expecting to hear, actually. âDisheveled but still attractive? I appreciate your honesty, Bilbo. I could use a nap, that is certain.â He covered his mouth as a yawn punctuated his sentence.

The hobbit let out a breath of relief, but he knew it wouldnât last long for he would have tell his lover the circumstances that had caused him to hit Dain on the head on the first place. âYouâre not going to like it, but he and I got into a bit of an argument. That was when I really learned that out of the two of you, you are the more reasonable. But in the end, your cousin decided to resort to violence in my kitchen so I grabbed a pan and did my best with Dwalinâs help, of course, and knocked your cousin out.â His kitchen. Well not really. It was technically one of the royal kitchens in Erebor that Bilbo had taken over to use to cook, using it as his facility to cook and bake food to introduce the dwarves that were interested to the various meals his people ate each day.Â
Thorin had to struggle not to laugh at the look on Bilboâs face. âI see,â he said gravely, when he heard that it was Dain who had first gotten violent. âDain will be banished from the dining hall for a week. He may take his meals in solitude in his room. I will see that this is done.â

Elleth had fought in the battle against the Orcs alongside the Dwarves, Elves and Men and battle was won after Thorin defeated Azog, having a feast celebrating their victory and Thorin becoming the king under the mountain alongside Fili and Kili becoming the crowned princes.
She watched as Thorin socialised and talked with people at the feast, including female dwarves who had their interests in him, which made her jealous because during the journey to help Thorin reclaim the mountain she had fallen for him but couldnât do anything about it since she in his eyes was an elf so there was no way he would see her more than a companion who helped him.
Once the festivities was over and everything calmed down, instead of staying Elleth changed out of her gown and put her travelling clothes back grabbing her things and then headed through the halls without being seen as she made her way towards the entrance as she planned to sneak away without being seen.
Elleth really shouldnât have worried about Thorin, he found the attentions of dwarrowdams just as anxiety-inducing and uncomfortable as king as he had when he had been just a prince. Thankfully, his sister had given him heirs so marriage was not required of him as a king.
He intended to die stubbornly single.
Of course, Thorin was unable to keep track of every guest at the celebration and would have not known Elleth was silpping off if he hadnât been out for a walk, trying to gain back some of his sobriety before going to bed. He almost didnât stop her, after all, she was free to return to her home if she wanted to, but it was night and he did not feel the area around Erebor was, as yet, secure. Stray orcs could still be roaming under the cover of darkness.
âHo there, elf! You had best wait until first light before you begin your journey home.â
Elleth stood at the entrance of the mountain contemplating if she should leave or not, wondering if sheâll be missed or even remembered by the dwarves once she left Erebor but then she heard Thorinâs voice behind her making her turn around to see him standing there, all kingly in his robes but she could see that he was in the middle of sobering up.
âThorin! sorry I know I should probably head when it is light but I didnât want to overstay my welcome anymore than I should so IÂ thought it would be best if I left now..â She said with a soft smile.
âDo you think so little of dwarven hospitality and gratitude that you would sneak off like a thief in the night?â he demanded. âI understand King Thranduil may have different customs but in Erebor, if you have been invited for a kingâs feast you are invited until it has ended. It has not ended.â
âNo! Of course not! I would never want you to think that at all i swear you have to believe my word when i say that.â She said softly and then she brought up King Thranduil and his customs. âI may be a Mirkwood elf and lived there for quite some time but donât assume that Iâm apart of his kingdom because of my race.â
âAre you telling me, you live in Thranduilâs kingdom but do not consider him your king?â That was troubling to hear. Anyone who lived in his kingdom had better swear loyalty or they could find elsewhere to live. âAnd this is something the Elf King tolerates? How lazy of him.â
âI lived in his kingdom because i had to, not because i wanted to.. i still showed him respect whenever i was in his presence but that was all.â She said sighing softly as she ran her hand through her hair. âI do not have a king because i do not live anywhere, im a traveller you of all people should know that besides that the only people i am loyal to are the people i call friends which includes you..â
âAre you⌠offering fealty?â Thorin sighed and rubbed his face. âI am not sober enough for this sort of discussion. You are welcome to leave, as ill-advised as it might be, but my preference would be for you to remain until it is safer to travel.â
âI am not offering it to you Thorin.. youâve had it since i joined your company.â Elleth said softy, as she readjusted the stuff on her back. âI suppose iâll take your advise and stay but if you donât mind i will just retire for the night and i hope you enjoy the rest of the night you really deserved it.â
âYes, of course. There are guest rooms as made up as we could with our limited resources. You are free to take any that is not claimed.â Thorinâs head spun but he suspected that was more the drink than anything else. He tried to impress upon himself to remember to speak with her when he sobered up.
âWell, good night, then. See me tomorrow before you leave.â
"You're daydreaming." (kingofthemirkwoodelks)
âMm? I wasnât! I was just... thinking.â *looks nervous at being caught daydreaming*
