Aventuras numero tres! We went to a UNESCO World heritage sight called Sian Ka'an or Entrance to the Sky. We floated down ancient Mayan canals through mangroves and after that got to traverse the ancient city of Muyil. These ruins are from the post classic period of Mayan culture. The first big one is a temple, typically built first to pay homage to the gods. The smaller building was a shaman hut and the final ones are of the "downtown area" where trade and commerce happened. Fun fact, the currency of the time was cocoa beans, we also learned a turkey back in those times would cost approximately 200 cocoa beans. #honeymoonvibes https://www.instagram.com/p/BmCi4bnnU6L/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=yqc1ojsvkt9k

Day 2 of the fun! We rode a catamaran and went snorkeling in a reef off the coast and got to see a bunch of marine life in their natural habitat. Afterwards we rode the catamaran back to a protected inlet and hung out with drinks and got to swim through a sand bar. Our first excursion, visiting the ancient Mayan city of Tulum. This city was beautiful, the walls run 300 meters by 170 meters and it backs up right to the sea. After this we got to snorkel in the yal ku lagoon and got to swim through a cenote (underground cavern connecting the 3 major underwater rivers in mexico) #honeymoonvibes (at Ruins of Tulum)

I have waited for this day for years, and yesterday it finally happened. #PresentingThePauleys
