Terrorism
The by-product of a generationâs understanding
Of a world where one set of values
Summons the systems of old
Where the illusion of righteousness
Blinds the rational
Prevents the moderate
And enables the ignorant.
Terrorism is the by-product
Imperialism is the burn
Father of hate
Guardian of revenge
Imitator of hope, happiness, and harmony
Provider of cheap commodities, labor, and capital
Imperialism, or geopolitics
Makes monsters
Who would otherwise be human meat-bags
Exposed to the variables of nature
And not the variables of politics.
Behold: The first flower successfully grown in space
A blooming zinnia follows a successful lettuce harvest at the International Space Station, taking astronauts a step closer to their aim of growing fresh food â for a future manned mission to Mars | Read more at The Guardian

I am only a student of history, but it is obvious to me that the only systems, constructs, and institutions that survive the test of time are the ones that are never the same for long.

How Well Do you Know Neptune?
Dark, cold and whipped by supersonic winds, Neptune is the last of the hydrogen and helium gas giants in our solar system. More than 30 times as far from the sun as Earth, the planet takes almost 165 Earth years to orbit our sun! In fact, in 2011, Neptune completed its first orbit since its discovery in 1846.
Here are a few things you might not know about the windiest planet:
If the sun were as tell as a typical front door, the Earth would be the size of a nickel and Neptune would be about as big as a baseball.
Neptune orbits our sun, a star. Neptune is the eighth planet from the sun at a distance of about 4.5 billion km (2.8 billion miles) or 30.07 AU.Â
One day on Neptune takes about 16 hours (the time it takes for Neptune to rotate or spin once)
Neptune makes a complete orbit around the sun (a year in Neptunian time) in about 165 Earth years (60,190 Earth days)
Neptune has six rings
Voyager 2 is the only spacecraft to have visited Neptune
Neptune has 13 moons. They are named after various sea gods and nymphs in Greek mythology
Did you know that Neptune has storms?
Similar to Jupiter, Neptune has storms that create gigantic spots in its atmosphereâŚwell, it did. When Voyager 2 flew past Neptune in 1989, it tracked and imaged the âGreat Dark Spotâ â a storm larger than the entire Earth! When the Hubble Space Telescope imaged Neptune the spot had disappeared, only to be replaced with two smaller storms, which in turn also disappeared.

Why Japanâs conviction rate is 99%
In Japan, crime rates are low and the state incarcerates far fewer people than in other rich countries. But when people are accused of a crime they are almost always convicted

According to many studies, weed seems more like a filter that keep people away from stronger drugs than a stepping stone into life-destroying addiction.
The West could counter ISILâs message simply by being less hypocritical.
Dear Europe and all victims of the exodus of Syria,
You have China and Russia to blame for this. They have both directly supported the Assad regime, which is basically to blame for being the primary contributor of at least about 4 million refugees, and the primary reason, if not the only reason, that ISIL exists.
Given how poorly both those totalitarian states are currently doing economically, perhaps the West can take steps to force both Russia and China to take the displaced peoples of Syria instead of Europe?
It is safe to suggest that if biblical Jesus Christ was living among us right now, some evangelical Christians would consider him the âAntichristâ.
If the US finally moves on gun violence despite the NRAâs best efforts, then is there not grounds to suggest that the NRA has consciously forced negligence on the part of our legislation, and is therefore - in part - to blame?
Legislation after all, is supposed to be the seat belt in the sometimes rocky ride that is life. As best as it may, it is supposed to serve to protect us. So if a passenger on the ride thwarts another personâs ability for them to buckle up, is the acting individual not committing a crime? Since the NRA aggressively acts to prevent legislation geared at making the acquisition of a weapon-of-human-destruction more difficult, they are actively ensuring that people needlessly die at the hands of assholes. Not to suggest that it wouldnât happen anyway, but by at least making the process of purchasing a weapon harder and way more bureaucratic, assholes may get distracted by something else in the meantime, or themselves be accidentally killed by a work of God... who knows, they may even find a shag and lighten up a little.
The leaders of the NRA over the last decade should face full justice. They have actively worked to prevent serious legislation on the topic of gun control, from passing. Because a small, sexless minority of wealthy, sexless (did I say that twice?) white people get pleasure out of the bang caused by a gun, and in-part because they are the ones who will go out and vote (as well as meet all the easy voting criteria), the general public remains at risk of being the next batch of victims to the next asshole with a chip on his shoulder and weapons designed for nothing but human annihilation. The time for holding organizations and their leaders accountable for interfering with social policy has arrived.
