I've been replaying FFIV lately and I've come to the conclusion that Cecil has some serious abandonment issues by the end of the game. Like there's so many people that come along for the ride, and then they just leave. Even worse, almost all of them leave via an event that makes everyone think they're dead! I think that'd weigh very heavily on a person after a while. Even if damn near all of them don't end up dead, I feel like Cecil is pretty sensitive about sacrifice after all of that. Like if someone tried something like that again he'd 100% flip his shit because he's seen enough of his friends suddenly have an intense desire to become a martyr. Do you guys get me?

Idk why, but I imagine Kain to be the type of kid growing up who was mostly good but had the occasional chaotic neutral toxic friend vibes. Like 12 year old Cecil is talking about how some kid keeps calling him a failure knight and Rosa is like "Don't listen to him, you're a perfectly capable fighter" then Kain is just "Judo flip him onto the ground in front of all of his friends, that'll fucking show him"

Hope's character development is amazing because he goes from screaming at basically anything and everything that can hurt him to jumping onto a goddamn grand prix racetrack while there's a race ongoing, looking at a mech that's trying to kill him dead in the eye, and just saying "hey there" like it's an average Tuesday. Say what you want about him but holy fuck did he grow a spine

Looking back on FFIV, I realize that Cecil's biggest flaw (aside from not having a spine for the first part of the game) is that he's gullible as shit. He just casually believes he's delivering something harmless to Mist despite the fact he was literally just ordered to steal a crystal and slaughter anyone in his path. He believes that Baigan, a man who clearly doesn't like him much and sells him out to the king with zero hesitation, wants to work with him with no strings attached. He forks over the Earth Crystal to Golbez without even thinking about if he's being lied to about Rosa. I love Cecil to death but let's be real here he'd 100% look up if he was told the word gullible was written on the ceiling

FFXIII is one of those games where like 70% of the cast just has queer vibes. Like I am completely certain that Lightning is a lesbian. How am I so sure about this? Idfk man she's got the vibes

The inconsistent character design in FFIV is going to be the death of me. Like everyone generally agrees that Cecil's hair is supposed to be white but it's been shown to also be blue and blond, Rydia's eyes somehow went from green to blue when she grew up, Kain has been depicted with at least 3 separate eye colors, and that's not even getting into how many outfits changes the entire cast has been given throughout the different re-releases. Seriously, pick a design and stick with it this is driving me INSANE
