While the institutions that make up the Knowledge Quarter represent amazing resources in themselves, the challenge is to ensure that all can make maximum use of knowledge sharing through the bringing together of different skills for collaboration and exchange of ideas. As such, it embodies the ideals of the British Museum – a place where the whole world can meet and tell their stories.

This Museum of the future debate took place on Thursday 16 October. Here are some of the debate's highlights from the panellists Amit Sood, founder of the Google Art Project, Sonita Alleyne, founder of The Yes Programme, Sir Mark Walport, Chief Scientific Adviser to HM Government and Head of the Government Office for Science, and architect Sir David Chipperfield.

Somers Town Community Association (STCA) is a locally managed Charity and Voluntary Organisation set in the heart of the bustling, thriving ward of St Pancras and Somers Town. SOAS, University of London, (the School of Oriental and African Studies) is the only Higher Education institution in Europe specialising in the study of Asia, Africa and the Near and Middle East. It is part of London's new Knowledge Quarter.

The School of Life is devoted to developing emotional intelligence through the help of culture. It addresses such issues as how to find fulfilling work, how to master the art of relationships, how to understand one’s past, how to achieve calm and how better to understand, and where necessary change, the world. Headquartered in London, it is part of the new Knowledge Quarter.

The Royal Veterinary College is the largest and longest-established vet school in the English speaking world and is a college of the University of London. The College offers undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD programmes in veterinary medicine and veterinary nursing and is ranked in the top 10 universities nationally for biosciences. It is part of London's new Knowledge Quarter.

The Royal College of Physicians of London is a British professional body of doctors of general medicine and its subspecialties. Located in Regent's Park, it is part of London's new Knowledge Quarter.

The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) is the professional membership body for family doctors in the UK and overseas, and is committed to improving patient care, clinical standards and GP training. It is part of London's new Knowledge Quarter.

Located in the heart of London, The Place is the UK's premier centre for contemporary dance. It unites dance training, creation and performance in a purpose-built centre, which houses some of the best studios in the city. For over 45 years, it has been a vibrant hub of dance activity, a centre of creative and technical excellence and a magnet for aspiring dancers, talented professionals and cutting-edge choreographers from all over the world. The National Centre for Universities and Business (NCUB) is an independent and not-for-profit membership organisation that promotes, develops and supports university-business collaboration across the UK. NCUB is the only organisation bringing together universities and business to influence government and solve the country's challenges. It is part of London's new Knowledge Quarter.
