Love & War New Chapter 7 Read Here

Snippet of Chapter 7:

"I shouldn't be here." Caroline said when they were alone. "We shouldn't be here."

All day, Klaus kept thinking about how he could make things different this time.

"I want you here, and I'm not talking about here on this lawn." He closed the distance between them. "I wanted you back here."

She blinked back at him. He wanted to say more, but he wasn't sure what else to say.

"Why?"

"You know why, Caroline."

Even as President of the United States of America, he was still too afraid to admit his feelings for the only girl that made him feel something real - to be in love and want to be loved in return. Yet, all he could do was touch her. He reached for her face and held it, slowly stroking her cheek bone with his thumb. He wanted to kiss her then, but he knew she'd push him away. She closed her eyes and he guessed that she couldn't stand to look at him right now.

"You knew I'd come back." She said, as she opened her eyes to glare at him. "And you still want to have your way with me, after all this time. Were the years of pain I suffered being victimized as your mistress not enough for you?"

She took in a deep breath and exhaled as she lifted her eyes to meet his. She'd forgotten how the tint of yellow in his emerald eyes seemed to make his gaze and features softer. Almost unnoticeably, he had managed to inch closer to her with every breath. And with every breath, she felt it all coming back. With every breath, her heart felt heavier. All the feelings that she had tucked away into the deepest corners of her heart had managed to resurfaced, as if his mere presence had somehow summoned it.

It was moments like these, when he wasn't the President and she wasn't his campaign manager. He wasn't married and she wasn't his mistress. They were just Klaus and Caroline – living in the moment.

It had somehow become their thing over time – being here, embracing the moment, as if the world stopped and they had nothing but time and each other.

A part of her knew she shouldn't, but her heart yearned for this moment.

She took in a deep breath and exhaled as she lifted her eyes to meet his. She'd forgotten how the tint of yellow in his emerald eyes seemed to make his gaze and features softer. Almost unnoticeably, he had managed to inch closer to her with every breath. And with every breath, she felt it all coming back. With every breath, her heart felt heavier. All the feelings that she had tucked away into the deepest corners of her heart had managed to resurfaced, as if his mere presence had somehow summoned it.

It was moments like these, when he wasn't the President and she wasn't his campaign manager. He wasn't married and she wasn't his mistress. They were just Klaus and Caroline – living in the moment.

He closed the distance between them, until his forehead rested against hers.

"You're here." He whispered, so softly not wanting to shatter their moment. He said it as if to tell himself that she wasn't some figment of his imagination. She was actually here, standing in front of him.

He needed to feel her, actually touch the softness and warmth her body offered. He closed his eyes, letting the touch of her satisfy his aching desire.

Klaus leaned into her, inching closer to her lips. And as his lips pressed against hers, she felt a lustful desire course through her body, responding to him calling for her. She melted into his arms, almost feeling pushed down by his overwhelming dominance over her as he drew her closer to him. She felt like he was inhaling her, as if she was his last breath of air. Feeling dizzy and weak, she struggled to prevent herself from getting lost in him. And as much as she wanted to fight against him, a part of her wanted this. It was like her body was ready and willing to submit to him.
