living on a tight budget does not meab you have to give up your favourite cakes or treats. This is a current hit in my family.
This costs roughly £0.81p to make per cake compared to shop brought at £2.50
Ingredients:
200g all-purpose flour
40g unsweetened cocoa powder
200g granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
120g vegetable oil
1 tablespoon vinegar (white or apple cider)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
240ml water (room temperature)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Mix well to combine.
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the vegetable oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract.
Gradually pour in the water while stirring the mixture with a whisk or spatula until the batter is smooth and well combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly. (I used tinfoil trays?
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
