Champaign, Illinois 2019. I am going through my archives of my one year project on Champaign-Urbana’s urban changes. I always have liked this shot. I came back to this location with the alluring, intense, red light many times. I took the tripod out for one last spin in the undiscovered country last night. Was able to catch some new developments going up. Before you know it they will be complete. This particular picture captures my fascination with the topic of urbanization-I cannot even recall what was in this lot before. I always think these events deserve to be recorded. Life will be lived in these houses, around these streets. In one year or so, I will return to these and other places to see how they have developed.
