Kyle Beach deserved to have his teammates’, coaches, and management’s support.

Kyle Beach deserved to have what happened to him treated as more important than the Stanley Cup.

So I’ve been putting off this post for awhile. There’s a few reasons for that. A) I didn’t really want to face reality that my Andrew Shaw was traded. B) I couldn’t find the words to really show how much he means to me and to show how devastated I am that he’s gone. I still can’t honestly, but I’ll try.

Andrew Shaw has been my favorite player from his first NHL game. His perseverance, passion, heart, and energy has made him into one of the very few public figures worth idolizing. And I always have idolized him. He has been able to take me from the lowest lows and made the highest highs even better. I have so much to thank him for, in the past five years he’s been the center of all my increasing love for the sport and his values and characteristics have made me a better person. There’s no words to say how grateful I am for that. He is still my favorite player and my feelings for him haven’t changed one bit. The only difference is that my love for him and my love for the hawks have been separated from each other by the trade. That being severed hurts like crazy, like you wouldn’t believe, but both of those two things will of course still be as important and loved by me. One the last note, he was sent to my second favorite team, the Montreal Canadiens. I’m excited for his opportunities there and I hope the management realizes the gem they have. I’m also excited to see how his relationships with B Gally and P.K. develop.
