SNES Virtual Console games now on New 3DSes ⊟ 

Good news! Virtual Console versions of Super Mario World, F-Zero, and Pilotwings are now available on the U.S. eShop for New Nintendo 3DSes! We’ll get Super Mario Kart, EarthBound, and Donkey Kong Country on March 24; then The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, and Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest on April 14.

Bad news: These games aren’t available for the old 3DSes. :o(

Good news again! These releases feature a Perfect Pixel Mode, which “gives players the option to display the games in their original resolution.”

Back to the bad news: No cross-buy or discounts if you’ve already purchased these games on Wii U’s Virtual Console.

But let’s end on a hopeful note: Japan’s 3DS Virtual Console is also getting SNES releases from the Final Fight, Street Fighter, Mega Man X, and Contra series – maybe those will eventually come out here soon too. Or you could just import one of those gorgeous Super Famicom-edition New 3DS XLs!
