Who first invented two-colour shoes is not known for sure. The British shoe manufacturer John Lobb, who created the famous shoe company John Lobb in the middle of the 19th century, claimed the right to take the championship. Lobb claimed that it was he who came up with the idea of creating cricket boots that were elegant and unstained in 1868. The dark colour of the sock and back protected the white boots from contamination. Such boots begin to gain popularity from the 20s of the XX century, when such sports events as cricket, polo, golf come into fashion. Two-colour shoes protected from dirt began to be worn by both those who are in the spectator stands and the participants of the competition themselves. Women also began to wear two-colour shoes, originally invented for men.
