Breaking Brent

Another feature of Brent's pavements that the transportation department weren't able to spot when notified a paving stone was trying to escape out of the ground.

Quite a few of these suicidal Diversion signs throwing themselves on the ground around Harlesden - they must be feeling pretty desperate after being left behind for months by the road workers. 😢

Few more sightings of the popular "Escaping Kerbstone" breed. Can be spotted by familiar white markings which identify its habitat but signify that this is to be left well alone and not touched.

"I used to be a bollard once."

How are they unable to find this? Just go to Costa Coffee and look at the pavement? FFS.

More handiwork by local lorries and HGVs - introducing a new style of 'dropped kerbing' to NW10! Apparently the transportation department couldn't notice anything wrong with this when they were notified, so this must be a new way of installing kerbstones!

Innovative new approach to drainage - just don't Tarmac the road to the kerb, create a new gutter! Genius! (Presumably saving quite a bit in the costs of Tarmac too!)

Who knew that the journey to the centre of the Earth began on Harlesden High Street? This can be the only reason why Brent Council has decided not to cover this hole up for the last few months. Sure, it must be tricky for bus drivers to negotiate, and there's a chance you could drop your shopping down there, but this could become a new local landmark! (Enjoying the sight of that traffic cone trying to escape down the hole too!)

Harlesden’s plentiful HGV traffic introduce some crazy paving to the area by mounting the pavement to squeeze down Station Road. Let’s just hope no one was in the way!

Currently hoping we can make it to a year without a proper safety barrier on this part of Manor Park Road. Things are looking good - it took them 3 months to come and place the temporary barrier and it’s been there for 6 months… (and returned, despite being stolen for a weekend!)

Thoughtful of someone to take care and help out when no one could be bothered to come and replace the lid of this hole in the ground!

(Don’t worry about the white marks indicating the holes should be filled in - the holes were reported months ago and the lines have been there for weeks, it’ll never get resurfaced.)
