Basing my anticipations on the OG,  I was surprised !   Not because he was ever negative towards her to start with,  but because FFVII doesn’t really turn into the Cloud  &  Tifa show until around midway when the true plot twist starts unraveling,  so mostly I was preparing for a much longer wait before we really got to the vindicating goods.  Thinking about it  +  all the additional Cloti  /  Zerith leanings that came with each post-1997 Compilation entry,   I guess it makes sense that they’re planting some seeds earlier on than OG players are used to.  We just get to see it in crazy detailed brand new scenes now.

I was actually finishing up uploading this gifset   (X)   when it snapped that   .   .   .   all of those moments of Cloud’s inner heart coming through were within the same time frame   -   a time frame before the point where that one  “Aerith melts his frosty exterior, only she”  argument could have a chance to be at all valid.  Same with my pre-release post about AVALANCHE and their affect on Cloud’s evolving opinion of things  (X)  now being validated by his character summary in the Ultimania.
