How to make a grunge brush in Photoshop Tutorial

Today begins a new year for me and what a good time to show new work created. I certainly would like to experiment more and be creative while shooting. I also plan on working on more branding and get back to illustrating more, so I expect to be busy this year. I have a good amount of photos of the lovely @flordah in this colorgel series. I used sideways clamshell lighting for this portrait. Black and white is cool, but I like playing with colors. Everything has a neon like vibe and I let Flora do her thing creating various emotions for the camera. Fun fun fun. I honestly do not like sharing any good deeds big or small, because that should be personal, but maybe sharing something can help others spread some joy. I made a small donation to help children from multicultural communities go to the Summer Illustration Art Academy that was hosted by the Society of Illustrators. It’s a free art program for children 9-13 and they get to visit different places and learn from professional illustrators and comic artists. I certainly hope they all enjoy it and it sparks their creativity for their future. What I did not expect was a thank you note w/ postcards from some of the children’s artworks. That was cool and really blew me away. I did not donate a lot, just something small I could afford. I did not donate last yr and felt bad about it, I definitely support art programs outside of school. If I helped the program out and helped a child continue their passion in art great, if they just enjoyed a fun week, awesome. So while I did not want to share what I did, I wanted to show some of these kids’ art and hopefully make you consider donating to some good cause, whatever that Good cause is. #societyofillustrators #donate #gooddeed #artprogram #goodcause #illustration #comicartist #motivation #staypositive

The only decent photo I got from this weekend’s workshop. So many factors from shooting at a terrible time to everyone bullying their way to get a shot which blocked everyone else from getting a decent photo.
