Wren has always been such an interesting character to me, and after reading the deep dive I really wanted to make some art of her. I got an idea but the background and lighting were giving me absolute hell so I whipped up something generic instead (forest background) and tried my best on the lighting. As always love BranchClan and I really hope you like this!! My hand definitely did not as my style isn’t always consistent😭

Sorry for so many questions, I just really liked Cinderleaf and want to know if she was as loved as she deserved to be

Marshpaw is...He's conflicted. He was heavily affected by the death and blames himself for it, because he loved Cinderleaf, even if there were times when he saw her more as "mom's mate" (Amberwhisker and Cinderleaf never split up, fun fact) than "another mom". But he also is kinda happy. Not that Cinderleaf is gone but because she's not unhappy anymore, and because her dying means that maybe the clan will let the drama blow over and see him and his brother as normal cats and not the Affair Babies.

Specklepaw is worse off than Marshpaw. He has constant nightmares, basically relies on poppy seeds to get sleep to the point where he steals them from the medicine den and gets irritable when he doesn't get any, and seems to be in a constant state where he's alive but very zoned out and dead to the world. He doesn't like talking about Cinderleaf. Or Moonsong. Or Amberwhisker. As far as he knows he only has his brother.

I cannot fully explain how much I adore your work(thanks autism) but just letting you know that I reread the whole story on lunch breaks at work and it made my days 💖💖

so im going to be an anon that spreads some positivity here! branchclan is one of the most well written clangen comics ive come across in a while and i really like how you're able to handle heavy topics in it without sugarcoating them like most stories tend to do. i play clangen occasionally myself and find it hard to actually form most of the events into a story so the fact that anyone is able to do it so well??? its incredibly impressive

i dont think you need me to tell you think but please dont let those awful people who have said the terrible things ive seen stop you from making this story! keep doing what you're doing, i cant wait to see what happens with the clan, as messy as things between some of them may be now

Anyway, the question is - Does Moonsong act as a father towards the kits he had with Amberwhisker? Or are they just completely disconnected after what happened to Cinderleaf? And what kind of mother is Amberwhisker? Does she love the kittens despite everything, or are they just some sort of failed attempt at gaining prestige to her? Or maybe she associates them with Cinderleaf's death, kind of like Atticus did?

Anyway, Moonsong acts more like a dad now that Cinderleaf is dead. He always felt too guilty to spend time with Specklepaw and Marshpaw when they were kits because Cinderleaf was always there. He can't help but feel super guilty whenever he looks at them though, because he just gets reminded of Cinderleaf and what happened to her.

Amberwhisker is actually a decent mother! She tries to pretend everything is normal, but similar to Moonsong she feels immensely guilty. She knows that treating the kits poorly would be a bad idea though, because she brought them into the world. They never asked to be born and don't deserve to be treated badly. If Amber could go back and fix it all she would. But it's too late now.
