Particularly risqué about communicating solely through social media is the inevitable mixture of work and play.  Many of these entrepreneurs don’t seem to have separate presences for personal and business posts and their message gets let’s say - muddled.  At the risk of sounding old fashioned it’s startling to come across extremely profane memes and/or blog posts when perusing a company’s offerings.  Perhaps there are potential customers out there that want to be associated with those viewpoints, but I don’t imagine that they make up the majority of the eyeballs on those pages.  At the same time I can’t imagine that type of messaging showing up on a traditional informational or retail website.

  What do you think?  Will company websites, as we know them be supplanted wholly by social networking presences?  Also where’s the line when injecting some “realness” into your customer engagement?
