“Already?”
It felt like he had only just sat down since their last spar. Not that he’s complaining ( even as his muscles ache ). He needs the training—he needs to get stronger. For Kara, the sake of Metropolis, and for those who couldn't live to see tomorrow.
And yet as he gets himself into position, something in him falters. The ground is solid and firm, but he feels himself sinking into it—like the world is heavily weighing down on him. He tries to ignore the uneasiness swelling inside, but his posture remains stiff regardless. No doubt that Kara must have noticed it.
And so he sighs, arms falling helplessly to his sides. There was a slight sting left behind in his palms as he belatedly realizes his nails had dug harshly into it.
“...Kara. Do you think— ”
He starts, lips flattening into a thin line as he is hesitant to continue. It was only a brief second of pause but it was enough to feel the knot in his throat, his chest tightening from how he held his breath. “...do you think I will ever be as strong as you?”

Hank, in all his glory had come to stop the robbers, the police still far off, he had thought that with all the invasions and monster attacks this city had, metropolis would have better work force. But...

Oftentimes, people underestimate how much it can take to kill somebody.
At the very least, he got a kick out of seeing the cyborg confused—unable to put a name to his face. “The name’s Superboy. Got that memorized in that tin-can head of yours? Cause you’ll be seeing me around a lot more.”

falling to my knees and collapsing at kon's dislike of being perceived as a kid because he wants to be taken seriously as a hero—but deep down he yearns for the childhood he never had. it shows in the way he gravitates towards hobbies or activities with a child like curiosity, in the way he seeks validation and love from adults like lois and clark. a part of him wants to be spoiled and cared for deep down...but because he had to grow up fast with the fate of the world weighing on his shoulders, his insecurities, grief, and fear of failure pushes him to prove to others (and himself) that he is a capable person (and not just some 'weak and helpless' kid)
