Aftershocks: Orion, Emma and Henry
"Itâs all I can do right now. We know better than to just go diving into a portal, especially when we have no idea whatâs waiting for us on the other side. IfâŚthatâs even possible." Emma hoped that wherever Graham had ended upâŚit wasnât some kind of hell world with tortureâŚand fire..andâŚno, this isnât helping. She continued to turn the pages quickly, scanning for anything that looked like the word âportal" or âvortex" or âother world." âI canât find anything that describes what that thing is." She sounded exasperated. âHenry, donât go too farâŚ" She turned to look at her son with worry filled eyes. âMaybe we should try throwing something into itâŚand see what happens?" Emma asked Orion, running out of ideas.
"I donât think anyone sure of mind would go and jump in a portal if they didnât know where it led, well at least I wouldnât." Orion took to looking through some of the crocodileâs books for anything but like Emma, he had no luck in finding anything to do with a portal. Letting out sigh and shutting the books he listened to the sheriffâs solution. As much as he could criticize he knew she did have a better idea about what was going on. âI like that idea but what should be throw in? Maybe something that we could communicate with?"
Henry didn;t wander too far and made sure to keep where his mother could see him. Even though he had been in the shop before he had never had much time to look around on his own. Slowly he weaved in and out of the items closely examining each wondering who the items linked with. Hearing some excitement in the two other voices he went back over and joined them, just catching the last bit of news. "We're going to that portal?" he asked confused.
