It's like we're not actually divorcing ourselves from our birth sex really. Transmascs and butches. Transfems and femboys. It's all really disgustingly bleak from a trans rights point of view.

I don't have a problem with transmasc lesbians, but I feel like the cultural lesbian identity is actually so much more wrapped up in transmasculinity that it actively pushes out and directly punishes transfems. The divide between any TME lesbian and TMA lesbian is so absurdly wide.

Why don't you see pushback from transmasc people being slotted in with lesbians for how obviously transphobic it is when transfems have distanced themselves from gay men for obvious reasons? That's also obvious. Transmascs are treated better in lesbian spaces than transfems are in gay spaces. They're offered privileges. Transmascs are also treated better in lesbian spaces than transfems are in lesbian spaces. Transmascs are at worst treated the same as transfems in gay spaces. Even their transphobia is lighter and easier to accept for the privileges it provides. Honestly I'd say of trans men, gay trans men have it the worst, because they're the gay men of trans men and don't have a place in lesbian spaces and face transphobia from the cis gay community. Weird how these things actually make sense when you think of people as the gender they actually are. There becomes gay transmasc and gay transfem communities distinct from cis gayness that put them at the bottom of the queer totem pole below heterosexual trans people who are permitted in lesbian and gay spaces, but even then, you'd have to be from a different reality to say a trans gay man is more generally hated and fear mongered about than a gay trans woman is.
