SHINY by Sara Bareilles / This is the first song I thought of for this playlist and the lyrics featured in this gifset are from it. You wrote so beautifully about Lisbon's mom in the kitchen and her memories of her and I think this song really fits that.

MEMORY LANE by Haley Joelle / This song is so beautiful and goes with the theme of "hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you."

YOU'D NEVER KNOW by BLÜ EYES / Although the specifics aren't quite the same, this feels like a Lisbon song to me. She's so stoic and doesn't want to let anyone see that softer side of her, and especially for the time period you wrote about, I think this makes sense as a Lisbon song.

BEEN A LONG DAY by Rosi Golan / Your fic talks a little bit about reopening old wounds and I think this song talks about the journey of going from beaten down to okay again. It ends with "it's been a long year and I'm finally ready to be here," and I think that's the stage Lisbon is in when she joins the CBI, trying to find her footing.

AGAINST THE WIND by Victory / "The journey is a process that's making me strong / I can't stay in one place too long" feels like suuuuch a Lisbon line. This fic is so much about her strength and resilience and love, but tied into that is also her tendency to run that she talks about later in the series. But no matter what happens, she keeps going, and she won't stop.

LITTLE LIES by I'm With Her / So... thinking about Lisbon's past the way you've talked about in this fic, let's look at this line: "If I pretend I never cried and my daddy raised me right / that I pick myself up when I fall / that I don't need a helping hand / on my own two feet I stand / will you come running when I call?" It's fine, I'm fine.

HURRICANE by Fleurie / Okay this is a long-time favorite song of mine, but what made me think of it for this playlist is "it's all we know, all we know, the hurricane." I could go on for hours about the song, but I think that's the essence of Lisbon—in many ways, the hurricane is all she knows. But there's a quiet to a hurricane, a calm, a clarity, and that's who she is for so many people. Also, one of my favorite things ever is how this song builds slowly, then just breaks. The music starts picking up speed and matches the message of the song and it's just beautiful.

THE BOLTER by Taylor Swift / I know this fic isn't directly about Lisbon's tendency to run, but I think because it's so much about her memories and background, I thought a lot about the conversation she has with Jane in "Little Yellow House." And though the lyrics aren't particularly Lisbon, she's the first character I thought of when this song came out.
