âShitââ Penâs facade dropped quickly. She slammed her foot down on one of the guardâs feet as they pulled her through the doorway. He yelped in pain, and she heard something crack. He didnât let go, even so. He limped a little farther down the hall, as opposed to disobeying his orders. The guard on her right held her arm tighter, and yanked it behind her back.Â
She couldnât expect any other guests to help. Belka and her were in the viperâs den alright. There was no way to know how many were just as criminal as the othersâ not without that flash-drive at least.Â
Role was hastily exiting her own conversations, in order to Jack out and be with Pen. Crossfusion might not be viable, but maybe she could effect the lights or doors or something to give Pen the opportunity to escape.Â
Role scanned for Strelka and locked onto her, running as quickly as she could.Â
âWe need a new plan.âÂ
Strelka skidded to a halt and looked up to Role now that they were at the side of the party. She didnât bring out her weapon just yet, but readily brought up the networkâs remote access.
âIâll lock down the place! They wonât be able to leave until I say so!â She suggested. âTheyâre still inside, and the man who took Penâs slowed down. I should have time with the permissions I have on-board.â
Belka charged forward, disregarding cover now that they were in the halls. Her heavy step was alerting for sure, but when it came to stopping a kidnapping in progress, subtly just wouldnât work.
âHalt!â She cried out with a deep voice. They were just ahead! A few more feet and she could easily pry Pen away from the guy.
