Fever Tree, 2022
I originally found this brand for their tonic, but quickly became of fan of their ginger beer, which this cap is from.
A silly cocktail I make using this soda is called a Panda Expression. It’s equal parts ginger beer and orange juice with a shot of Drumshambo’s gunpowder green tea gin, garnished with mulled black peppercorns and an orange peel.
Introduced in 1924 in Columbus, GA, Nehi celebrates its 100th birthday this year. The sodas were said to be “knee-high” in flavor, thus the name.
For the past eight years or so, If you’ve ever been to Columbus, you may have seen one of the original Nehi buildings down on Front Ave. As a soda town, this ain’t the last Columbus-native here folks.
Shiner’s Ruby Redbird, 15 July 2024
This beer is super light and refreshing. Perfect for a summer day by the pool. The ginger and grapefruit is a wonderful combination.
Genesee Beer, c. 2019
I picked this cap up near Narrowsburg, NY. This small brewery uses a neat graphic that reminds me of Lichtenstein’s style and Van Gogh’s Portrait of the Postman Joseph Roulin.

Birra Baladin, c. 2019
This was found in Florence, Italy in 2019.
Bud Light, c. 2021
This beer in particular has become something of a political topic due to their inclusion of trans celebrity, Dylan Mulvany, in a 2023 ad campaign.
This new look for Bud Light was officially debuted during Super Bowl 50 in 2016. This is coincided with a change in the can design which reintroduced the Anheuser-Busch crest for the first time in 15 years.

Crush, c. 2016
The word ‘grape’ written to designate the flavor indicates that this cap could have been collected between 2007 and 2017. The drop-out type design also points to this period, although it is similar to the 2017-2021 logo. However, research also shows it’s likely Crush uses a separate logo for their glass bottles, which appears to still be active.
Moxie, c. 2017
“Distinctively Different”
Similar to root beer, Moxie is a soda derived from the gentian root. You may have heard someone say, “Get your moxie on,” meaning have some nerve. This is derived from Moxie’s early advertising leaning on gentian root’s historical use in plant-based medicine.
Moxie was eventually purchased by The Coca-Cola Company in 2018, furthering the expanse of their beverage monopoly.
Budweiser Select 55
Under the parent company, Anheuser-Busch Brands, Budweiser is a staple American beer. With only 55 calories, it has been said that Select 55 was a direct response to a low calorie Miller beer.

Kopparberg, Premium Cider
Collected by my partner in Berlin in 2017.
Bud Light, c. 2014
For many, this is the ‘American Standard’ for light beer. Jokes in Europe about beer essentially being water is likely derived from their experience with any of the Budweiser line. They’re all quite light and are more similar to sparkling water in flavor.
Personally, I associate this beer, and especially this logo, with childhood. Many family members and family friends drank this particular beer exclusively due to its moderate alcohol content and affordable price. It’s likely the first beer I tried, and certainly the first thing that got me hungover.

Menabrea, c. 2019
An Italian beer, likely from their Bionda Lager. It’s possible I picked this cap up from the streets of Florence, as I don’t recall having a beer during my time there.
New Belgium, c. 2020
It’s likely this cap was from one New Belgium’s Belgian Collection or Belgian Reserve line. If this beer was opened after 2023, it could have also come from their classic Fat Tire beer.
Through researching the origin of this beer, I discovered that the company is also the maker of Voodoo Ranger.
Bud Light Lime, c. 2016
We know this bottle cap is one of the more recent ones based on the logo seen, which Bud Light began using in 2016.

Stella Artois, c. 2018
For many, this is the go-to Belgian beer. It has a light, classic taste. This cap was likely picked up in my restaurant days, and the design gives even more evidence as they used this logo between 2016 and 2023.
Ashwood Hard Root Beer, 2024
from ALDI
This is a blank black cap. The lines seen are barely visible in person and are likely from the sealing and capping machine.
