Modern bedroom renovation Ideas Reveal & Tips
If your bedroom looks or feels outdated, don't worryâyou don't require an enormous budget to produce a lovely, cozy room! On this bedroom renovation ideas reveal, I'm going to take you behind the scenes of the transformation of my guest bedroom and give you realistic, budget-friendly tips to encourage your own project.
 Before the makeover
The room wasn't awfulâbut it was bland and old-fashioned, particularly the faux-cherry furniture. It had no personality or whimsy.
Step by step tips to perform your bedroom on a budget:
1. Create a Mood Board
Begin with a visual plan to remain inspired and within budget. Simple or elaborate, mood boards clarify your style.
2. Add Architectural Interest
I added a board and batten feature wall behind the bed to add character and texture. Utilizing PVC boards, rather than wood, prevented warping and saved on expenses.
3. Paint Existing Furniture
Ditch purchasing new items. I redecorated my existing dresser, mirror, and nightstands to match the cozy cottage feelâhuge cost savings, huge visual impact.
4. Think Creatively with Furniture
I swapped out costly accent chairs with patio armchairs from a clearance store. They're wonderful indoors and are much cheaper than traditional seating.
5. Refresh Outdated Light Fixtures
A cost-cutting chandelier update replaced the old ceiling fan. I repurposed a fixture from another space and gave it a fresh face with basic DIY.
6. Smart Shop: Thrift & Discount Stores
I shopped the upholstered headboard, pillows, and accessories at in-town discount stores. Don't miss these for high-impact pieces!
7. Hang the HeadboardÂ
When the headboard wouldn't lie flat because of baseboards, we were creativeâhung it like a piece of art on D-rings. Simple and effective!
8. Garnish with Thrifted Accessories
From lamps to picture frames, a can of spray paint can turn thrift-store finds into one-of-a-kind home decor.
9. Inexpensive Wall Art
Purchased frames at a second-hand shop and loaded them up with printable freebies from Etsy. High style, low cost.
