Boruto, full render for megillien original here
âBecauseâŚâ Naruto knew that what he said now would determine if he got that second chance or not. And he knew it was time to stop blaming his future self for what happened, because it was still his own actions, albiet at a different point in his life.Â
âBecause you deserve a better father than the one I turned out to be, and I canât take back what I did. Or rather, I canât turn back timeââ He paused, nose wrinkling in momentary confusion. Was it turn back time or fast forward? ââand do the things I shouldâve done, like spend more time with you. And Iâm sorry I put you through that âttebayo. I know what itâs like to feel ignored, and I never meant to put you through that.âÂ
His lips quirked up into a small smile, bright blue eyes reflecting the sincerity in his words. âI want to make up for the missed opportunitiesânot with clones, but with the real me. So Iâm hoping youâll consider letting me be your dad again âttebayo.â
Boruto looked straight into his fatherâs eyes as he spoke, searching for the conviction and truth in what he was saying. He saw sincerity and guilt, as well as the brief flash of distracted confusion. Once the older Uzumaki was finished, the younger of the two mulled over what had been said. The smile that was sitting on his fatherâs face only resulted in a small one being drawn out of him as well; he couldnât help it. âNo clones?â It would honestly mean the world to the young blonde if his father really meant it. After talking to his mom some, he felt a little guilty about the way heâd talked to his father the night of the wedding, but his opinion still stood that heâd been a crap father; not that it was this guyâs fault per se.Â
age of innocence.
âSheâs with your father and our friends back at the wedding party.â Was sweet to see how taken everyone was with their little girl, fitting into any group comfortably with pride. âA little while, not very long."Â
There was a gap of silence as he took her in, or so it felt that way. Analyzing, comparing, assessing what to do? Hinata appreciated the look in his eyes. A good sign that he used logic and understanding when dealing with the unknown. Naruto-kun often jumped into situations at Borutoâs age without thinking. While matters came out favorable for him, most didnât have that same luck.
But what came next was not what she expected. Eyes widen, "of.. of course!â While the kunoichi had a difficult time accepting a future she knew so little about. She certainly wouldnât reject her role to these children. âItâs a unique situation and Iâm certainly lacking, in terms of parenting skills.â A strained smile forms with her honesty, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. âI should be the one asking you and Hima-chan, if you would.. still have me as your mother?â
He couldnât help but smile when she affirmed that she did still want them, him. Even if he didnât have his father, because he didnât need him, he still wanted his mom around. âWe do! And I promised I would help take care of you and Hima-chan.â He was certain that Himawari would feel the same, she loved both their parents a great deal. Even if it was his trash dad that taught him to keep his promises, it was still a belief he stood by; and regardless of where he and his biological father stood now, he wasnât going to go back on his word.Â
The young Uzumaki paused to think again, looking down at his hands in his lap while doing so. He looked back up to his mother again. âCan you tell me about dad?â He frowned, uncertain what exactly he was looking for. âAbout,â he started again to try and narrow his question. âAbout dad here.â He looked straight at her eyes, searching for answers. âWhat you said earlier,â another pause. âDoes that mean you arenât married here?âÂ
family drama: the unofficial wedding entertainment | Boruto
Naruto hoped that the future him had done something, anything, to warrant forgiveness. Deep down he knew that it was a long shot, asking for a second chance, but still he hoped. How could he not? Boruto was his son, and he didnât want to lose him. He continued to watch his son, as though willing the latter to see that he wasnât the same person as the Naruto in the future.
âNo, Iâm tired of getting my hopes up.â
Heâd had to strain to catch the whispered words, the noise of the party ceasing to exist as soon as he did, as though those words had opened up a black hole thatâd swallowed him whole. Fear prickled in his chest and he knew that if he didnât say something right now, his son was going to walk out of his life, possibly forever. He opened his mouth, but words failed him; the one time in his life when his needed to have the right words ready, and they refused to come.Â
But Boruto wasnât done.
âYou might be a good Hokage but youâre a terrible father! You barely spend time with us anymore and there are so many things Iâve wanted to show you. You think Iâve been happy playing with your clones?â
His vision blurred as tears sprang to his eyes. Was that what heâd doneâleft clones for Boruto to play while he was at work? He couldnât believe that, not when the him right now wouldâve sent the clones to do his Hokage work while he spent time with his son.Â
âBoruto, Iâm-â But how does one apologise for that;Â âsorryâ seemed inadequate. He attempted to reach out whenâ
âI donât want you as my dad anymore.â
His hand faltered, then fell back to his side. There was a dull ache in his chest, as though someone scraped his insides and hollowed him out. His lungs couldnât quite manage to get enough air. Still, there was something he needed to tell Boruto. He let out a soft breath, paying no attention to the tears that rolled down his cheeks everytime he blinked.Â
âIâm so sorry⌠for everything, and I understand why youâre angry. You have every right to be âttebayo. But please, please donât cut me out of your lifeâyou donât have to acknowledge me as your father, god knows I donât deserve that title, justâŚâ A pained smile spread across his face.
âI love you Boruto, youâre my son âttebayo. Nothingâs ever gonna change that, and I just want you to know that Iâm always here for you, if you ever need meâŚand that I wonât stop trying to make up for my mistakes and the times I let you down.â
No matter what his father was saying, it couldnât quell the anger and hurt he felt inside him. He turned away. Heâd heard it all before, several times over. Beginning to walk away, he faltered after several steps when Naruto said he loved him, the word son, grabbing his attention. Holding back a sob the younger Uzumaki stopped or only a second before resuming again. Thatâs right, he was going to walk away and leave his dad behind; he didnât need him. He was better off without a guy like that.Â
With new resolve he turned back around to drop into a formal bow. âSorry, Hokage-sama,â he managed to force out  before he quickly stood up and turned around again. He took a deep breath as he felt a tear roll down his cheek. He broke into a run, not letting himself look back.Â

Little Naruto snorted in indignation at the accusation. He was Uzumaki Naruto and yeah maybe most of the villagers hated him, and he was lonely quite often, but everyone else could stuff it because he wasnât going to change for anyone! One day, he was going to become the Hokage. Then, the villagers would finally acknowledge him!
âYouâre the one copying me âttebayo!â He puffed up his cheeks and balled little fists. âThere can only be one Uzumaki Naruto! So weâre going to have to solve this the ninja way! â
Boruto narrowed his eyes at the other blonde. âNo way! Iâm not copying anyone, dattebasa!âÂ
His glare softed at the name, though. Uzumaki Naruto? That was dad. So this kid was running around pretending to be like that guy?
âOf course there can only be one, so stop copying my dad.â He was only using the term âdadâ here literally, not by some emotional attachment, no sir.Â
Hinata: Well I mean⌠maybe somedayâŚ! Right?
Naruto: âŚright. SomedayâŚ

Himawari couldnât believe her eyes. Could there really⌠be people who vandalised other peopleâs property for fun? She didnât think there were those that thought such a crime was fun, but then again, there were a lot of things she didnât yet know about the world. Himawari was young, although that wasnât an excuse to uphold justice around the academy.Â
âHey!â One hand was at her waist, the other pointed ( quite aggressively ) at the culprit, but she could not pinpoint exactly who she was pointing at. âThatâs not a very nice thing to do!âÂ
The little Uzumaki summoned up her meanest scowl, one that was capable of wilting flowers. âIf you donât stop that right now, Iâll⌠Iâll call the police!!âÂ
That should do it. The police was a force that couldnât be reckoned with, that was for sure. It was also the scariest thing imaginable, to a little girl of her age.Â
Add a moustache, moles, black eye, a thick beard, and some facial piercings through the nose and brow. He stepped back to admire his work before deducing he needed a final touch. With some quick swipes of the brush he was finished after adding a giant turd on top of the head. Boruto was busy defacing painting a âportraitâ of his dad on the side of some building when he heard the high pitched shout. A very familiar shout as well. He turned from his masterpiece to identify the person accusing him.Â
âHima-chan?â He confirmed that the shout was indeed that of his imouto. âYouâd call the police on your niisan?â He grinned and left the paint beside the wall to run over to her and give her a small noogie before hugging her.Â

uchihaxsarada:
Glancing down at the rounded fabric. Hands are quick to flatten it some, which was pointless. The moment the Uchiha pulled back it returned back to how it was. âEh? Yamanaka-san had the dress picked out already, so kinda?â Heat immediately returned, coloring both cheeks. âI dunno, your face is pretty gross so a mask couldnât hurt.â
Though Sarada knew she looked ridiculous Boruto wasnât getting one up on her, no way. âAnyway itâs just.. we are not home, at all. The people here are different too. We know some of them but they are not who we think they are? Kami, itâs so weird to say it out loud. For example, Yamanaka-san is.. younger? and sheâs not getting married to Sai-san..â
âYouâre one to talk,â he bit back. âYou should be wearing a paper bag on your head.â Then people wouldnât know it was her in that awful, white, poofy, thing. As soon as heâd said it he felt kind of bad; this was no way to talk to a girl, but he couldnât help it, the dress was awful.Â
Saradaâs next words confused him, and the more she continued to speak, the more confused he got. âOf course we arenât at home, weâre at some weird village beyond the forest.â But what did she mean people were different. âWhat do you mean sheâs not getting married to Uncle Sai? Arenât they already married?âÂ

ramendattebayo:
Naruto took it as a good sign that Boruto hadnât immediately slammed the door in his face. Holding back a relieved sigh, he let his lips lift in a hopeful smile, trying to mask his uncertainty and nerves.
âA second chance?â He said in an uncharacteristically subdued tone. Spreading his palms out, he added, âI know I havenât been the best father, and that you probably have no reason to trust me, but I am sorry and Iâm hoping I can make it up to you âttebayo.â
The younger Uzumaki blinked a few times, staring at his dad and processing his options. The first desire had been to just say ânoâ and slam the door, but a different part of him, a part buried inside him, really just missed his dad.Â
And instead of giving in and forgiving his dad then and there, he wanted to make the older Uzumaki earn it. âWhy should I?â There was no point in trying again if Naruto wouldnât really try.Â
Wot Bwings Us Togder {Boruto/Neji}
nejinojuukenpo:
Bolt. They named him bolt. No secondary meaning was possible, off top of his head and he blinked as a way to keep his expression from shifting to befuddlement. Who knew Hinata had such anâŚeclecticâŚtaste in names? He supposed being married to a man named fishcake gave a different perspective to things.
âLike me,â he confirmed, offering a head-bow from his position. âHyuuga Neji,â likely your uncle, he didnât add. Not least becasuse of the âsupposed to be deadâ thing.
At the boyâs confession - and an addition of yet another bizarre name - Neji shifted to indicate Boruto could take a seat next to him. âFair enough,â Neji said. âIâve done this enough to know I donât wish to drag my heels behind the crush of people trying to get to the bar.â
Not that that was an option for his conversation partner.
Hyuuga Neji. The Uzumaki let the name settle into his mind; it was familiar, he concluded. Neji... âNeji-ojisan?â he voiced out loud. Unless this was a different Neji in the family. But he recalled his mom telling him about his uncle... the one that had died during the Fourth Shinobi World War... the one that inspired his name. He deduced with about ninety percent certainty that this was the very guy, as he had not seen him before at any of his momâs clan events... and the name matched up.Â
Boruto took a seat beside Neji. He wasnât sure what to say next. He fidgeted with his hands before looking up at the man beside him again. He was confused. If this was his... deceased... uncle... how did he get here? This place was stranger than heâd expected. Not only was Auntie Ino marrying someone else when she was supposed to be married to Uncle Sai, but now he was pretty sure he was sitting beside his dead uncle. Sarada had mentioned that this place was different.Â
age of innocence.
lucidxveil:
That small flicker of hope began to grow at the view of his smile. Causing her own to widen, but quick to bite her lip to control it. âHai, Hima-chan has been here for a little bit now. She.. has done well in explaining things to us, or.. at least helping your father and I understand.â
A silent sigh leaves her, âI promise.. if I can do anything toâ..â lighting up at the thought.. âByakugan!â Veins surface around her eyes, creating slight shadows across once pale skin. Cheeks warming; Hinata didnât like being seen like this, it was.. uncomfortable in a way. But it was for his sake and hopefully this helped earn the childâs trust?
A few moments later the heiressâs skin flattens, blinking off the feeling that came with such a shift. Focus returning, âto be honest Boruto-kun, Iâm still learning about this place too..â
It was difficult enough to accept what happened at her age, but for a child? Glancing down at the ground, expression narrowing as that fact sinks in rather hard. --To be literally torn from his family and to end up here? What if she or Naruto-kun never made it?? What of their children!
Fast realizing this was not the time. A quick shake as her expression softens. âAll Iâve come to understand is.. weâve all ended up here at d-different points of our lives.â Gazing at the blond again, âfor myself and Naruto-kun it seems.. just before the war. But there are some here that have shown up before it, or in your case long after.. Even people that died in say my time are alive here now.â Fingers hooking together in her lap, âI do not believe we died however, I just.. donât have answers yet.â
âWhere is she? Do you all live together?â His eyes furrowed in concern, thinking of Himawari being here with their... strange (for lack of a better word) parents. âHow long... has she been here?â And how did she get here. What if he had failed her as a niisan by not being here to protect her?Â
The young Uzumaki watched the familiar sight of her Byakugan activating... just like his momâs back home. As far as he knew it wasnât something that could be imitated or replicated by jutsu.Â
He took in her words, but couldnât help but stare at her, still processing her younger appearance, doing his best to accept that she was his mom... kind of. His head cocked to the side slightly as he studied her and thought back to the pictures at home heâd seen of her when she was younger... whens he looked just like this.Â
Boruto thought about what to say next. He wasnât expecting answers about their being here from her he supposed. He processed the confirmation that she was indeed a younger version of his mom, transported here yet still existing at home. What he really wanted to know was: âDo you still want to be my mom?â His question came out strong as he looked her straight in the eyes, searching for her answer. âAnd Himawariâs?â he added soon after. âIf you donât,â he paused, frowning, âI understand.â And he did. She was younger here, but still kind of the same person. There couldnât be an obligation to take the place of her future self at home. âIâll find Hima-chan and take care of her so you donât have to.âÂ

ramendattebayo:
His sonâs words were a swift punch to the gut, and though heâd faced some really strong adversaries and had toed the line between life and death in some instances, heâd never felt pain like this before. Except when Sasuke left. Though he called the Uchiha his best friend, he really considered Sasuke a brother. And when the raven had left, it had left a huge hole in his life. But to have his own son want to leave himâŚÂ
Anger blossomed in his chest, a heat that travelled down to his fists, and he clenched them hard, feeling his blunt nails etch crescents into his calloused palms. He was beyond furiousânot at Boruto, of course, but at himself. How could the future him have let things get this far? He was supposed to have been a good parent, perhaps not the best parent, but certainly not the man his son had described. He took a shallow breath, and tried not to let his anger show; he didnât want the younger blond to misinterpret and assume the anger was directed at him.
Instead, he smiled, though it was strained, the corners of his lips tight with hurt. âIâŚâ His mouth opened and closed like a fish gasping for air. Eyes lifted briefly, and peered through the glass into the wedding reception, where he spied Hinata and Himawari. âIâm sorry, âttebayo. But if youâd just give me another chanceâŚâ He finished helplessly.
He glanced at Naruto and saw the pained look on his fatherâs face but swiftly looked away. Boruto tried to fight the lump in his throat and the frown on his face grew. He resisted the urge to forgive his father once again and give him yet another chance. He didnât want to put up with this shit anymore. âNo,â he whispered harshly, turning slightly. âIâm tired of getting my hopes up,â he admitted. âYou always ask for another chance and you always say youâll do better or youâll spend more time with me, but you never do.â
In the silence he could hear his breathing get harsher. He turned and looked his father straight in the eyes. âI get it, dad, youâre the Hokage and you have the whole village to take care of, not just me and Himawari and mom.â He could feel the tears forming now and his hands were balled into fists at his side. âYou might be a good Hokage but youâre a terrible father! You barely spend time with us anymore and there are so many things Iâve wanted to show you.â He could feel the tears on his face now. âYou think Iâve been happy playing with your clones?â He glared through his tears. He had so many things, so many pent up frustrations that he wanted to let out now but now, in this moment he couldnât find the words. There was only one thing he wanted to say right now. âI donât want you as my dad anymore.â

The uzumaki family in this roleplay is adorable! -Anonymous
Our Uzumakis in question are Uzumaki Naruto [ramendattebayo], Hyuuga Hinata [lucidxveil], Uzumaki Boruto [borutothebest] and Uzumaki Himawari [uzuflower].
The greatest gift of all... || Grimmjow & Boruto
Today was the day. Boruto had been preparing things for some time now, the past two and a half weeks to be exact. Heâd spent a couple days collecting cardboard for a giant cake (of which heâd pop out of), and another week building his masterpiece; the past few days had been spent decorating and a few days had been spent searching for the perfect jar. Now, finally, it was delivery time. Heâd tried to learn some scroll sealing and summoning from auntie Tenten, but he didnât have the knack for it, and time had been short, so heâd settled on using his very own manpower.Â
As he suspected, Grimmjow was napping under his favourite tree, and the Uzumaki was able to place the cake a few feet away and get inside. He quickly tossed a few rocks into the exposed stomach-hole before closing the cake shut and getting ready. Soon enough, through the peep-hole he saw his niisanâs eyes opening, so he waited a few seconds before bursting out of the top and popping several poppers. âHAPPY BIRTHDAY, STOMACH-HOLE GUY!âÂ
