I should have been born a Mikaelson.

My #1 fandom will always be the TVDU (and specifically, The Originals).

Klaroline will always be #1. I'm sorry those of you who think it 'didn't happen'... but it did. Even if it was never, "omg, we're boyfriend and girlfriend!" official -- it happened. Caroline was HIS LAST KISS. The show literally came to an end after that. For all we know, Klaus Mikaelson kept his vow of 'he was your first love, I intend to be your last, no matter how long it takes.' I will die on this hill. That's also why, in my story, Klaroline happens. They are not the *primary* couple -- as everyone should know by now, Always and Forever (my fic on Ao3) is Vandalia x Klaus x Elijah x Freya. But Klaroline HAPPENS in the story, later down the road.

That said -- Klamille is #2. Because Klamille absolutely happened. In my Gods honest opinion, Caroline taught Klaus Mikaelson that he was capable of loving of another person in equal measure to how much he loved himself (if not greater measure)... and Cami? She taught him he was capable of being loved in return in equal measure! I have NO DOUBT Klaus loved Caroline... but in the end, Cami was like a soulmate, whereas Care was like a twin flame. But extremely important but... in two totally different senses. And again... in my story, Klamille happens. In my fic? Cami is alive, and Klaus got his vengeance against Aurora for what she did to her. In a rightful world, that's what should have happened. Just my two cents.

Haylijah. No questions asked. They deserved a happy ending almost more than anyone else in the entire TVDU (just in my opinion). They were the definition of soulmates. They were robbed out of SO much. So much time together. Eternity together. Their love story is truly the main love of The Originals -- not Klaus x Cami or whomever else... Haylijah was it. In my story, although my main coupling is Vandalia x Klaus x Elijah x Freya... Haylijah still happens. Over and over again lol.

That said... Klayley. If Plec didn't want Klaus to have a happily ever after with Caroline or Camille, and she didn't want Hayley having a happily ever after with Elijah or Jackson... then for the love of God... they should have found love in each other and lived for Hope. I agree with others who say this is a 'soulmate best friend' type of love. But it absolutely could have been more. Especially that snippet of her writing a letter and he goes, 'I thought I was out of the running ages ago.' Like imagine if it would have dawned on Hayley then that Klaus actually had fallen *in love* with her, okay? Damn the potential. In my story? Klayley happens as well. Although in Ao3 Hayley isn't the mother of Hope... spoiler alert, she will have other children with Klaus. They have an incredibly strong bond with one another, even if it isn't 'omg you're my cosmic soulmate' level.

If Plec didn't want Hayley to have a happily ever after with Klaus or Elijah... then my word... Jackson Kenner, y'all. I live a Jackson appreciation life. He was robbed out of *so* much. He was doing everything he could to be the Alpha his pack deserved, the husband Hayley deserved, a step-father figure without overstepping that Hope deserved, the grandson Mary needed, and so much more. My word. He deserved more. Ffs if Hayley and Jackson weren't meant to be... let him live and put him with Freya for Pete's sake! He deserved to live! In my story? Jackson x Hayley are endgame. They are married, happy, and spoiler alert... expecting their first child together when my story begins. They get their happily ever after, even if it looks a little messy from the outside looking in. (My story is on Ao3... it's smut with plot, okay?)

Josh and Aiden (in my story, I spell his name Aidan, no offense to all you Aiden's out there!). They deserved SO MUCH better. SO much. No offense to Freya & Keelin, but this was the LGBT ship of the show, 200%. Vampire and werewolf, forbidden love? Yes please. In my story? They're both alive and they are living their happily ever after!

Marbekah, God have Mercy I am so glad they were endgame. The chemistry between Charles and Claire was only matched by the chemistry of Daniel and Phoebe (Haylijah) in my opinion. They waited centuries to be together and God did it pay off. They are endgame in my story, too -- even if they take on a few extra curricular activity romances here and there ;)

Kolvina is so underappreciated. Again, I'm glad they ended up endgame. Davina made a better man out of him, and Kol excited her in ways that no ordinary man could have ever. They were a match made in heaven, almost quite literally. Just my opinion. Like with Marbekah, in my story, they take on a few... extra curricular activities within their marriage. Spice of life, you know?

Before Plec introduced the Mikaelsons... I was a firm rider of the Forwood ship. I will still ride this ship. As a matter of fact, in my story, Forwood is endgame. I do believe Tyler was Caroline's first true love -- Klaus isn't wrong with that. As with the other couples though, love can be complicated... especially for a hybrid and a vampire. At the end of the day, though, they will always choose each other.

I know... I know. Best friends. Platonic soulmates. But in my story? Endgame. I never liked Stefan with *anyone* as much as I enjoyed him with Lexi, even if it wasn't romantic. I feel like they matched each other in SO many ways. Just as Plec shows Cami being Klaus's 'conscience' even after she's dead... that's what Lexi was to Stefan. To me? That's soulmate level stuff. And she's the one that greets him when he kind of 'crosses over to the other side' at the ending of TVD. C'mon. That's his ride or die. Again, like the other relationships in my story... love is complicated. But it's always gonna be a happily ever after at the end of the day.

I don't care if the new fad is to say it's 'toxic.' They're endgame. Still alive, still vampires, and happily married in my fic. But, again... like with all happy marriages in my fic (c'mon, again, it's Ao3... it's smut with plot) -- love can be messy and blur lines.

My fic wouldn't be TVDU if it didn't have Matt Donovan lol. I loved Matt and Rebekah on TVD (pre-Marcel and The Originals of course). I still love their dynamic. And that's why they 'happen' quite a few times in my story ever though Matt has married and found love, clearly, with his wife. They'll always be like... eternal flames if you will.

Beremy is endgame in my story. Married, kids... but again, love isn't always so black and white. Especially in a fic with tons of plot twists on Ao3 lol. Jeremy was my favorite man with Bonnie (no offense, Enzo). That said though...

Anna and Jeremy are such an OTP to me, too. In my fic... Pearl and Anna survived and went off to live their life together. But of course... New Orleans calls out to them (for reasons you'll eventually find out if you read my fic). So of course... old feelings die really hard lol. Sometimes they don't die at all. So Anna x Jeremy happens in the story, too. They had too much chemistry not to.
