Just a silly idea I had for the Ezra-is-a-Turner-Jedi idea.
Prepare for feels you puny mortals.
Kanan and Ezra raised their lightsabers. Caught AGAIN by the Inquisitor, who was currently stalking toward them with a smug smile. Ezra thought it looked a bit more smug than usual. “I would like for you to meet my new apprentice.” The Inquisitor said, motioning someone from behind him forward. A girl, human, stepped out from behind the Inquisitor and raised a second red saber. One bladed. Ezra groaned internally, then stopped. This girl, he sensed, was not dark, despite the yellow eyes staring at him with defiant intensity. This girl was not on the Dark Side.
There was still hope for her.
Both girl and Inquisitor rushed forward. The Inquisitor engaged Kanan in battle, and the girl, about 14 or 15, engaged Ezra. “I will make you SUFFER.” The girl said through gritted teeth to Ezra. “Why?” Ezra questioned. He pushed her away with his saber and she darted forward again. “I’ve never done anything to you.” Ezra said calmly. “I think it pleasant seeing my enemies suffer!” She said back. She flipped around and nearly cut Ezra’s leg off. She’s strong, Ezra thought. “Thank you,” The girl spoke as she paused. “I appreciate the compliment!” She lunged at Ezra again, with Ezra barely deflecting it. “You’re very smooth with a saber. You take risks, but just enough to get the job done without risking what you’re doing. You have skills. You’re better than me.” Ezra spoke up. The girl snarled. “Flattery will get you nowhere!” She lunged at Ezra’s head. “Maybe it won’t. Heck, I KNOW it won’t. But here is me, supposedly your enemy, complimenting you and acknowledging your extreme skill. But when was the last time the Inquisitor, supposedly your Master and trainer… When was the last time he praised you?” Ezra dodged the attack and stood up straight. Doubt crossed the girls pretty face as he deactivated his lightsaber. “I could kill you right now!” The girl snarled.
But it wasn’t as menacing as before.
"Why kill me?" Ezra asked. He started slowly walking towards her. She still had her lightsaber on, but still, she began to back up. "Why? Why do you want to kill me? I haven’t attacked you. All I have done is compliment you and dodge and deflect your attacks." As Ezra said this, he realized it was true. Ezra hadn’t attacked her once. She was still backing away as Ezra kept walking towards her. "You don’t understand! No one understands! No one! What its like to feel alone, to be alone!" The girl spoke angrily. "But I do understand. I was alone for almost eight years of my life. I thought my life was worthless. What was one, among a million others?" Ezra could see he was getting through to her. "But I found people. I found someone who helped me. Showed me the right path. Guided me. Showed me the light. I found someone who made me feel like my life was worth something. That I could make a difference." Ezra turned around to see Kanan battling the Inquisitor. He heard a lightsaber deactivate and he turned to see the girl stand up straight and put her lightsaber away. She looked at him, a more sensitive expression on her face, but was still guarded.
"You could find someone like that."
The girl seemed startled, like it had never occurred, to her that that could happen to her. “Me?” She asked softly. Ezra smiled warmly at her and nodded. She seemed shocked at how nice Ezra was being to her. “But I’ve tried to kill you.” She stated. “Why not have a second chance?” Ezra asked. He held out his hand toward her, motioning for her to take it.
“So what do you say?” Ezra asked. “Do you wanna come back over to the light?”
She stared at his hand. She started to reach for it, then stopped and looked at him. “And you promise… if I come over to the light… I will find someone like you did?” Ezra nodded and smiled at her. “It may take awhile, but the chance will come. All you have to do is not lose hope.” She looked dubious. “The Inquisitor told me hope is for the naive.” She told him. “Hope is for the people who want to fight. For the people who know a good chance when they see it. People who lose hope have a lot of chances to be happy, but they don’t recognize the chance. If there is no hope, there is no peace, there is no happiness. That’s why ‘hopeless’ is such an empty word. Never lose hope. My friends give me hope. Try this: think of something that will keep you going, put a fire in your soul, while you are doing the right thing. Think of that and take my hand.” Ezra ordered. The girls yellow eyes sparkled. “Okay.” She closed her eyes and reached out for his hand but didn’t take it. She looked focused. Then she smiled. “The Rebellion.” She said strongly.
Ezra pulled her forward. The change was instant. The girl looked happy and strong. Defiant and determined. Her skin seemed to get slightly lighter and the bags that had once been under her eyes had disappeared. She opened her eyes and Ezra saw two brown orbs stare at him with kindness. “Thank you.” She said to him, smiling openly. Ezra grinned at her and pulled her towards his friends who were fighting off the last of the Stormtroopers. As the last trooper fell, Ezra and the girl reached the others. Zeb aimed his bo-rifle at her. “No! Stop! She’s on our side!” Ezra yelled, stepping in front of her. “Kid, are you out of your mind?! She just tried to kill you!” Zeb protested. But he put the bo-rifle away. Sabine looked doubtful. “How do you know?” “Trust me,” Ezra said back, smiling at the girl next to him. “She’s good.” The girl smiled back at him. “We’re going to give her a ride to a planet of her choice and drop her off. Where-” Ezra started to ask her. She interrupted “Naboo. I want to go home to Naboo, where my adoptive mom and dad are. I was stolen from them and I want to go back.” She stated. Zeb groaned. “Fine.” He said reluctantly. “Thank you.” The girl said. Ezra heard a grunt and a pain yell behind him. His eyes widened as he spun around. “Kanan!” The girl turned around and saw her new friends Master on his knees in front of the Inquisitor. Her eyes widened and she used the Force and slammed the Inquisitor straight into a wall. Ezra ran up to Kanan and helped him up, both of them heading toward where the others were at the end of the platform. “You,” Kanan said, looking at the girl that had tried to kill his Padawan. He put his arm protectively in front of Ezra. “You-” “Kanan! She’s on our side now.” Ezra said seeing the girl tense up for an argument. “We’re giving her a ride to Naboo and dropping her off.” Kanan looked at him in awe. “You- you turned her back to the Light Side?!” “Yup.” Ezra said. “Sorry if you’re upse-” Kanan gave Ezra playful shake of the shoulders. “UPSET?! EZRA, YOU DONT KNOW HOW PROUD I AM OF YOU!” Kanan grinned at Ezra. Ezra looked shocked, then grinned back. “Really?!” They both grinned at each other until finally Sabine said “Guys, we might want to be going sometime soon!” She pointed towards where the Inquisitor was getting up off the ground. “Spectre 2, pick us up at the landing platform!” Kanan said into his comm, finally releasing Ezra. The Phantom came into view and everyone got on board and they made their escape.
The Ghost landed on Naboo and opened the ramp. A girl walked out with a backpack full of food and bottled water. “Thank you again, Ezra.” She said to the boy walking out behind her. “Stop thanking me already!” Ezra said playfully. Everyone else was inside the ship, having already said their goodbyes. “I will do what is needed to show my gratitude.” The girl replied. “Now I need to get started. I have a long journey ahead of me.” She ended. Ezra watched her leave, then raced after her when she was a good distance from the ship. “Wait!” He shouted. “I never got your name!” The girl turned around and smiled at him.
