Something I really love about Fullmetal Alchemist is the balanced power dynamics between men and women, like I love the girlboss/malewife dynamic but what makes it so perfect is that it doesn't show the male characters as weak because of it or the women lacking kindness (except maybe general armstrong lmao cause yeah she's scary and i love her for that but yeah). Like in a lot of animes when we do get strong female characters they're either hated by men because they're ruthless and have no heart or they're worshipped by men that are shown as weak because they would let a woman take power, you know what I mean? But in fma we get Winry, Lieutenant Hawkeye, Lan Fan, etc who are badasses with their own personalities but they are also kind and compassionate and care about the people around them. And Ed, Roy, and Ling are not portrayed as spineless because their love interests are girlbosses, they're also badasses and they complement each other and make each other stronger. But yeah, anyway, I think we need more manga/animes written by women 🤷‍♀️
