海外で話題になっていた山中のミステリーサークルの写真、なんだろうと思って調べたら日本の森林だった。宮崎県日南市の林分密度試験地とのことだ。中心部ほど高密度になるよう同心円状に植樹した結果、密度が高い円ほど樹高が低くなり現れた形状らしい。
