A very quick, but very good Read.

Consisting of 21 short phrases almost aphorisms , they capsulate the essence of Musushi’s thinking. Each is accompanied by brief commentaries to help the reader grasp their meaning more fully. One of the thoughts on the 8th precept (Do not let separation. Bring you pain or sadness) is that “We honor memories by learning lessons and moving forward, not by replaying wounds” really stuck out to me

Took my bike in for it’s 2 year service earlier today. Since the cleaned it up for me I stopped at a park on my way home and took some photos

This evening I went out to saguaro lake on my paddle board

The electric air pump I got doesn’t have a gage and I ended up not putting quite enough air in it. This lead to me getting stuck on my way back in for a bit, had to lay on the board and use my arm to get closer to the shore and out of the wind (like you paddle a surfboard 🏄) then paddled like normal. When the sun went down the moon stayed hidden behind clouds, so I didn’t bother to take photos of it.

Eggo power waffles with Lindenberry jam and some really strong coffee after my workout. The waffles are 180 kcal for the 2 of them and have 10 grams of protein. I had a weight fluctuation when I got on the scale yesterday. Almost 3 pounds up despite staying on track. Maybe I put on some muscle, maybe I was bloated, maybe the time of day or the weather made the difference. No matter what it was, it F’ed with my head but I made the decision to trust in the process and myself and continue on as normal. That’s my flex for the week, consistency, despite setback .

Yesterday morning, sitting out on my porch drinking coffee. Yes rain in Phoenix, AZ is always worth celebrating, we also got over 8 hours worth on Thursday night/ Friday morning while I was at work and more while I slept Friday. No more forecasted for the next 10 days
