Well You know that I can never resist talking about your fics, so I take the oportunity when I see it š. Iād love for you to comment on the Ben fic, the scene that happens right before Tessa gets a cat, where they talk about adopting, finding someone new, and Iād love to know more about how you decided to write that scene and what was going on Tessaās head at that time. Im super curious how her realization about her feelings came to be, if it was slow and steady or came like a crash.
I prooooobably should not have tried to answer these when neither of my betas are awake because they are the memory keepers in this partnership but Iāll give it my best go.Ā
I think this is another one where I didnāt really have a plan for the scene itself other than I wanted another domestic scene in the backyard and that I needed it to lead to T trying to make a home of her own again. She didnāt know she was in love to the point of truly wanting to make a family forever with Scott and Ben, even in this scene. She was overwhelmed with emotion when she picks up Ben and takes him to the bath, but she isnāt able to identify it until later. But she had those trips and the time at her house and it definitely hits her all at once, much like it does for Scott later, that she loves him and she loves Ben and that she is very unsure of how Scott sees her, and in fact thinks itās likely just as a friend. At the very least she knows that she needs to stop being around all the time if Scottās going to take the step to start seeing people again. She just needs time and space to sort through her very complex and layered feelings.Ā
She also does know that as friends, her sudden distance will confuse him or maybe even hurt him a little, but sheās very in her head at the moment and knows heāll forgive her quickly.Ā
I hope this answers your question! I love talking about this story with you, too!Ā
