+ Idealistic, steadfast, hospitable. - Reserved, over-sensitive, gullible.
She is a LOVER!! She believes that people are innately good and she'll make excuses for anybody's behavior even if they're hurting her. It's very easy to pull tricks on her because she just straight up trusts easily, and she spends a lot of time in her head imagining all of the beautiful possibilities. Very romance forward as well, despite her hesitation to act on it. Being her friend RULES because you will always get a Valentine's/St. Patrick's/Easter/Halloween/President's Day/ETC basket.

Moved to Aurora Bay when she was six and has been here ever since, minus a brief stint at FIT in New York from 2015-2019.

โ Ideal Friday night is staying in her apartment on her big, comfy couch with a bowl of blackberry gelato, a bowl of microwave popcorn, and a beloved rom-com on the TV. She does it every week (with ice cream flavor subject to change).
โ Huge on making mood boards and collages. Does at least one manifestation board at the beginning of every month, alongside any of the junk journaling she does throughout the following weeks. She has an instagram where she posts all of her collage art/mood boards.
โ Extensive MASH player as a kid. Like, obsessively thought about who she'd marry and when she'd marry them and what her life might look like after getting married. She still has a couple of her old MASH sheets, which she's saved for posterity and also to collage with.
โ Created one of the looks for Sabrina Carpenter on her most recent tour. Absolutely the coolest thing Bonnie's ever done and she CAN'T stop talking about it on her private story (which consists of some friends and her sisters).

tw: brief brief brief mention of paternal illness
- grew up in the bay area, though her parents are both from texas so she has visited the south a lot, and a heavy portion of her family wield texan accents. bonnie and her immediate family moved to aurora bay when she was six after her maternal grandmother died and left her huge ass house to the buckners.
- comes from a hugely loving and supportive family. she is sooo lucky and often expresses how grateful she is to have not only a great direct family but a decently sized (and fun) extended family as well.
- her dad has always been her best friend first and foremost. they often did all the grocery shopping together (and sometimes one of her sisters would tag along too if they felt like coming along) and would spend the whole ride there and back taking the long routes just so they could listen to music with the windows down.
- her mom is also a great mom but sometimes there is tension... mother/daughter relationships are like that you know
- has three sisters: babs (barbara) who is ten months older, bea (beatrice) who is 1 year younger, and indy (FKA bells aka belinda but she has to be DIFFERENT..) who is 2 years younger and #thebaby. her and her sisters are close and fight like cats but when it comes to her family vs anyone else, bonnie will go down swinging for any of her relatives
- bonnie's mother is the breadwinner: she works in stem doing <stem stuff> and her work has her home-base in aurora bay
- father has been a tailor since forever - it was a skill his mother taught him and he later taught all of his girls the basics. bonnie took to it the best and had the strongest connection to the craft. in middle school she began experimenting with her own clothes and style, often upgrading the clothes that were bought for her or straight up making her own pieces. eventually, once she was good enough (and once her sisters trusted her) she was often dressing/helping dress all of them.
- in high school, bonnie helped with costuming for the school plays/musicals, eventually designing the entire wardrobe for all the shows her senior year.
- bonnie of course went to FIT for her schooling. she fit right in to the nyc way of life, and though she came back to california excited to return to her family, she knows she'll return someday
- bonnie's father's connections to the upper-middle class of both the san francisco and san diego area gave her access to a network of possibilities. combined with her education at FIT, bonnie was quick to find a pathway to showing the stars her designs and looks.
- bonnie took a part time job as a nail tech so that she could work with her sister and keep herself busy with consistent income (even though her solo work funds her plenty). she's not as good at nail art as her sister but she's good and it's fun to spend the days that she's not working on an intricate beaded jumpsuit hanging out with her sister and giggling with customers.
- bonnie chooses to stay in AB because her father seems to be getting sick and she knows that she needs to suck up all the family time possible. the idea that something could change is crushing - so the full potential of her career will simply have to wait

"Ohmygod heyyyyy, Bon," Sola said, pulling Bonnie in for a one-armed hug, partially because it was customary for them and partially to obscure the slight panic that she was almost certain was apparent on her face.
She loved Bonnie, but there was a reason that Sola had been quietly keeping her distance, and she was sure Bonnie could figure out what it was.
"Um. Kinda, yeah. I guess you could say that. I was supposed to go back to New York to see my parents, but things have been so busy with the truck because we're, uh, making a few changes...so, yeah. I'm a little stressed."
She chuckled awkwardly but loosened her grip on her shopping basket and told herself to chill. "How about you? How are you?"
The hug is more than welcome, even in the midst of a tricky situation. After being on the sidelines for more than enough of her sister drama throughout the years (Indy particularly tends to bring home messes like it's her job), Bonnie has no interest in inserting herself to this fire. She has complete faith in Sola and Maverick and Ravi that they can work this out, even if she might be privately judgmental about how it all goes down.
That being said...Bonnie also isn't the type to hold her tongue on important matters. And Sola? She's an important matter.
"Oh no! I hope you get the chance to see them soon... It can be hard not going home for the holidays. If you want to come over for New Year's and hang out with my dad, feel free; he will nag you for recipes, though." The hesitation on changes doesn't go unnoticed. Bonnie switches her half-full basket to her other hand since it's getting sweaty and she's losing her grip.
"I'm good, yeah, I'm... Okay, listen. I'm just gonna' be up front, okay? I don't know everything but obviously Mav did talk to me and... Look, you're in a tough spot, and I'm not gonna' pretend to have the answers, but I want you to know that whatever happens, I'm still here. Right? I love Maverick so much, but you're my friend too, and I've never once in my life weighted my relationship with a man over one with a woman, so... Yeah."
She smiles, but there's a tension in her eyebrows that she hopes lets Sola know she's serious. "Take your time, keep your peace, but if you're avoiding me for my sake, you don't have to."
San Francisco: If someone gave you a bouquet of flowers, what type of flowers would you hope to see? Have you ever gifted someone a bouquet of flowers-- and what was the occasion?
"I'd be honored to get any type of flowers. I think it's one of the best gifts to get - they light up any room, and I buy them for myself so much that it would be nice if someone else did. I'd probably fall in love if they brought me Snapdragons, though."
"As far as gifting flowers... Well, yes! Being in the entertainment industry, even on the technical side like I am in fashion, I know how nice it is to get a bouquet after a particularly difficult career move. Like, I'm always going to get performers flowers on closing night, and artists get them during gallery opens, and directors get them at premieres... It's just a nice way to show you're thinking about someone else's accomplishments in the way they are, too!"
Jack - How far could the one closest to them go before they decide to stand against them?
"I really, really try to give people the benefit of the doubt. So many people are going through impossible situations, and I know the kindest thing you can do for someone is offer empathy, so that's what I try to do. Now, I am sensitive, so I do tend to get my feelings hurt, but as long as the person is open to working through that with me, I'm cool. I've met plenty of mean girls in my life, though, and they're more than easy to pass on by. No thank you."
Nine - What is the one wish your muse wants to come true more than anything else in the world?
"I wish my family would live forever. I know that's selfish, but it's real. I always feel bad thinking about it, because yeah, ideally I could wish for a cure for all sicknesses or peace on earth, but at the end of the day, if I had the chance to secure a lifetime with my family, I know what I would pick. I'm sorry! It's only hypothetical anyway!"

"Ohmygod, Sola! Hey! Where the hell have you been, Loca?"
Bonnie tamps down her internal cringe; while it's not an abnormal greeting for her, everything feels a little forced right now. She's genuinely excited to see Sola, especially outside of the truck, but after milkshake night with Mav, there's a hesitance in her joy.
"Feels like I haven't seen you in ages! You look..." Bonnie tilts her head then, finally taking in the details. "Stressed. I mean! Not bad or anything," she says quickly. "Holidays got you down?"
"They are! We have a black cat that is just a goof but I adore him a ton. Oh, I can imagine how spoiled they are," Ariya laughed a bit. "They do steal them easily. Oh him? He's a sweetheart. He loves greeting everyone as I'm sure you've noticed. If only they did. I'd let you adopt him right away. He's a favorite around here for sure."
Bonnie hesitates. As it nears Christmas, her ability to make rational decisions tends to get fuzzy, especially around animals. What's the harm in getting a third? It's not like Georgia and Lucy could hate her forever for bringing in a new little guy...
"So, um... What's the process for adoption from this place? Just wondering."
Mav still keeps his dimpled grin going strong through Bonnie's order, and no amount of eye rolling or death stares will have him break it. "Quick and easy," he states. "Two milkshakes." As easy as it can be, he hopes the milkshake machine isn't a monster to clean, and he figures this is why there is an ongoing joke about McDonald's never having one in commission.
He rocks heel to toe, and his smile only fades in the slightest when the employee wanders off to complete their order. Mav opens his mouth to make a joke to Bonnie about how they are the biggest assholes right now, but she beats him with a question.
And then an idea.
And two names that definitely can cause his smile to drop, because one by itself isn't enough reason, but the other on its own can. Together? It spurs forth some insecurities that have been brewing since September and well into October. Even if it's lessened, they're there.
"Maybe." Mav shrugs. "Something worth asking next time you swing by the truck. I'm sorta uhโ"
He winces and wonders if it's something worth touching on for their movie night. "On a hiatus from visiting. Something happened, and I'm not sure if I'm ready to act like a polite customer to Ravi before I can talk to him about said something when he's not punched in."
While she's sensitive to the whole world, Bonnie is particularly tuned in to the delicacies of her friends. Mav is no different, so when his hesitation bleeds into his facial expression, she's already trying to figure out what she said wrong, or at the very least what she'd said to prompt out a shift like this.
Clearly, whatever it is has been taking up space in Mav's world for a long time - long enough to settle inside him, at least, which makes Bonnie feel like an idiot for not noticing something sooner.
"Something happened?" Bonnie repeats, gentle and curious. She won't ever push, but she will press. Her eyebrows twitch together. "What did Ravi do?"
Oriana was nothing if not a girl's girl. She refused to listen to someone saying something even slightly negative about themselves. "Well, pretty women deserve to blush," she laughed. She liked to compliment other people. "We can make our own event if they do," Oriana said with a laugh.
She followed Bonnie to a nice spot where it wasn't as busy or crowded with children. She didn't really care either way, but it was nice to know that little hands hadn't sullied these decorations.
"Oh, that's a good one. I'm going with a pumpkin. Maybe make it purple or something. I don't know."
Since they work together, Bonnie has plenty of experience giggling and kiki'ing with Oriana; that whole salon is always sparkling with a good time, staff and patrons both. Still, it's nice to get out together outside of work and enjoy the seasonal events without Miss Barbara complaining about how sharp the nail clippers are every five minutes.
"A purple pumpkin? Oh, you're crazy," Bonnie teases. She reaches out for a witch hat and then assesses the goodies. "Damn, they really went all out for this. Where the hell is Aurora Bay getting all of its money for public events?"
"To your credit, if someone told me they were an expert in moles, I think I'd also just believe it at face value. Why lie about something like that?" Seem too specific of a niche to want for clout or street cred.
"Christmas? Christmas is great, don't get me wrong. But I've always been a fan of horror aesthetics, music that comes from it, the fall season. Get the added bonus of my birthday of being Halloween too though that's not just why. Creepy is fun though," He defended more with the nature of just adding rather than correcting her or anything of that sort. "What about you? Yours is Christmas, yeah?"
"I kind of feel like maybe we should go learn about moles now. You know, in case it comes up again in the future."
Bonnie stops, her fear of being lost temporarily forgotten. "Omigod. Your birthday! I can't believe I didn't know! So you're what, a... Scorpio? I'm no good with astrology things, but it's definitely beginning to make sense why you're such a spooky season fan. I wish with all my heart that I could be someone who enjoys creepy crawly stuff, but I am just not that girl. More power to you, though, for sure."
Back to walking, she ponders his question. "Truthfully, I love most holidays. There's usually a theme, a party, and good food no matter which season it is. Christmas is definitely up there, but I'm a huge Easter girlie too. Something about a good egg hunt and all those incredible hats."

Fletcher lights up at the good verbal report card Bonnie gives. Oliver typically is well-behaved, but he has instances of pushing bed time or giving some sort of lip when he doesn't get his way. He hangs his jacket on the coat hooks by the front door, switching his bag of leftovers from hand to hand as he does, and starts to move to the living room area when Bonnie's prying question has him pause and slow for half a step.
He laughs and shakes his head when resuming his normal pace so he can put the doggie bag on the center table and sit on the couch angled from Bonnie.
"How'd you know?"
Maybe his lack of uniform and the food with the obvious Sea Shanty logo on it was a give.
"I did, but it was awkward. I don't know, figured I'd give it a shot, but it feels weird. Should it be weird still?" His and Cynthia's break was four-going-on-five months ago, the idea of firing up Hinge seemed like a good idea. "I don't know, I think I'm bored and don't know what to do with it. Like I don't actively want to get back into dating, even if I feel like I should."
He shrugs, reaching for his phone. "Anyway, are you alright if I Venmo you for tonight? I have some cash, I'm just short what I owe you."
"Well," Bonnie starts, her eyes flitting over Fletcher's put-together outfit and tidy hair. "You look very nice, for one - very handsome, not too formal - and also you seemed kinda nervous when you left? I didn't want to say anything and throw you off even more so I waited very patiently for details."
And then, because she earned it, Bonnie gets them. She listens attentively, and hums with consideration at Fletcher's question.
"It's only been a few months, hasn't it? It's impressive you're going out there at all; not to drag myself into this, but it takes me like, eight months minimum before I will even consider putting myself out there." Bonnie shrugs, though her eyes are kind. "The fact you went at all is enough; now you know more about what you want. Like, for instance, maybe you just need to pick up a new hobby instead of trying to go on dates. I hear pickleball is very in right now."
With a wave of her manicured hand, Bonnie dismisses Fletcher's Venmo offer. "That's okay, whatever you have for cash is just fine. I swiped a few of your Babybel cheeses from the fridge so we can call it even. If you want to pay me in some more awkward date details, I'll happily take that, too."
"Gladys-from-weapons?" EJ asks. "Is that a war movie?"
They really need to brush up on cinema, but most of the time they are at Movie House is to bother Buddy behind the counter, and to try and get some free popcorn.
Never mind that, though, Bonnie still has a point. No one pulled back on their costumes. The most meticulous details were added to every one of them, even the simpler ones. Minus those who went onesie routes, but they know that isn't who Bonnie is referencing.
"Solid plan. And I don't dance until I'm a few shots in, and way too overconfident in my ability to dance at all. And then I keep my phone away, because checking my Insta story the next day always gives present me all the embarrassment I should have felt the night before."
They look around the room, their eyes landing on Paul Atreides and the Sandworm, snorting at the creativity of the idea.
"So, how about I join you in the kickstart of getting drunk and get us some lemon drops?"
"To be honest? I don't even know. Never watched it. And never will!" Bonnie raises her glass in a cheers to herself - to never putting herself through the emotional turmoil of a horror movie, God help her.
"Lemon drops? EJ Machwitz you are bad ideas in beautiful wrapping. Yes, of course, I'd love a lemon drop." Bonnie shifts closer, fully intending on following them to the bar. "Look; half the fun of Instagram is letting loose like a crazy person and seeing who sticks around for the show. Getting drunk and posting on social media is kind of a basic human necessity at this point. However, I'll totally look out for you tonight and make sure you don't post anything too wild."
With a sly smile, Bonnie nudges EJ's shoulder. "The really embarrassing stuff of you I'll post on my story instead."
โ what you should do is wait until after the holiday then stock up on any supplies you might need. That way everything will be on sale and youโre not fighting to get everything next year โ Ruby noted with a small smile
โ which Dionne look?โ Ruby asked as her usual curiosity returned. โ oh sheโs the sea witch Ursula. The villain but when she turns herself human in the end to fuck up Ariels lifeโ @bonniebuckner
It's good advice; Bonnie nods sagely, though visions of her over-stuffed fabric room flash like a warning behind her understanding eyes.
"Her red velour dress! I know it's not as iconic as her plaid look, but I've done the hat before and her knee highs are so cute." It's also much easier to pull together - Bonnie's had that bolt of burgandy velour for years now. "Oh, wait, that's so cool! I love the villain lore - they deserve more love. The villain is always the hottest one in the movie."
"Sure. It's not something worth knowing if you're not a nutritionist, or a personal trainer." Neither of which Maverick is, but he adds, "Or being teased for being a 'soy boy'. It's fun building muscle on plant protein."
It makes him feel like he's sticking it to someone somewhere.
He crosses his arms and watches as Georgia threads herself around Bonnie's ankles like sheโs part of the negotiation.
"That's fine by me. Think you can handle AUX privileges?" He waits at the door until Bonnie is ready so he doesn't leave a wide window open for Georgia to make a run for it, and only once she's ready does he head out.
It's about twenty to close at Sweet Spot Creamery, and Maverick does his best to not feel too guilty when they receive that look when the bell above the door jingles.
"Hey," he waves with as innocent a grin as he can muster up. "Dairy free cookies and cream milkshake with, uuuuuhh โ cashew milk. And whatever she wants."
"Someone's gotta do it. It sure as hell ain't gonna be me."
Truthfully, Bonnie could only be grateful that Mav was willing to calculate macros and experiment with dairyless foods; all she does is reap the benefits. She knows every spot with the best vegan burger, or burrito, or peanut butter pie, and she knows that she's not going to bust out of her skirt after eating it.
Wrapped up in the biggest puffy parka she owns, Bonnie looks like a short red truffula tree. It's not even that cold, but her skin always feels arctic levels of chilled and she'd rather look like a fool in a winter coat than be shivering through her milkshake. She follows Maverick inside, still humming the Sabrina Carpenter song she'd forced him to listen to on the drive over.
"I'm going to go with a chocolate-pistachio shake, please and thank you. All the dairy you can muster," she says with a matching smile of innocence. As penance for their tardy foul, she slips in a five dollar bill to the tip jar after she pays and adds a bright thank you so, so much!
The employees will probably still complain after they leave. So fair.
"Mmm, you know what would be really yummy? If Sola and Ravi hit up this place and collab'd on some kind of lassi flavor. I don't know how that stuff works, but I'd pay big money to try it - especially if she used the Jolyani chai recipe."
He looked up from the truck with a smile upon hearing the jovial entrance of a beaming voice. He'd been working on the rig, making sure everything was up to par. A visitor was a delight, however, and not for an instant was there a thought to turn them away. As he approached, he realized that it was Bonnie. He'd met her a few weeks ago, whenever she'd brought sweets to the station then, and though it had been the last time he'd seen her, she'd left a warm impression, "Hey, you." The male greeted, walking up to her, wiping his hand on a rag.
"Oh, come on, listen, we're not picky around here. Just grateful. Besides, pumpkin and molasses sound absolutelyโand unanimouslyโout of this world." He took the cookies from her, "I mean, if they're half as good as the last ones were, they'll be gone in a day. Easy."
"โ Thank you, Bonnie," He gave her a nod. "What have you been up to? Other than baking up a storm."
Bonnie smiles alongside the light teasing, though it turns earnest when Monroe lets out a stream of compliments. She knows her baking is good, yet that little pleased feeling she gets when others compliment her is warm every time.
"Me? Oh, jeez, a whole lot of nothing. I'm in a break between clients right now so I've been spending a lot of time on my couch. I did go out for Halloween, though - I think I saw you there. A cowboy, right? It got too overwhelming for me so I left early and blasted through Twitches and Halloweentown. Did you have fun? Any big tricks or treats?"

"Did you get one of these?" Lucky asks, holding up a keychain that dangled from his index finger. "My girlfriend says it's vital that everyone does. Something about Etsy witches. The good kind."
Witches and his current state of inebriation had him suspicious that he would soon start to hear the Wicked soundtrack bumping through the speakers.
Bonnie takes the keychain off his finger anyway because it's cute and she's never once turned down a sentimental reminder in her life. She admires it briefly before dropping it into her purse.
"I'll be honest with you, I don't mess with witchcraft, but if it's luck these are bringing, I might need two or three. Hey, speaking of luck, my girls miss seeing you 'round the clinic. I know they can't talk, but trust me - I know. Wait, I meant to say, like, how's it going in software design town? Like, are you having any luck... Sorry, the wine is getting to me and I'm forgetting how to speak like a normal person."
"It's definitely a lot of fun. I love getting to spend everyday with them while also learning more about them personality wise." She smiled a bit, thinking about how each one of them were unique. Plus one of her favorites was definitely a drama queen and she loved it. "I mean it's a struggle everyday. They are all too precious and those meows always get me. They steal the hearts of everyone who comes here."
"God, so true. Cat's personalities are all over the place, and yet somehow I still ended up with two spoiled princesses." Bonnie rolls her eyes fondly. "I don't blame you. My heart's stolen! That little gray guy over there? He's lucky my girls don't play nice with other kitties because I'm one more mocha latte away from smuggling him out of here under my jacket."
