It’s a way to exteriorize all my shit. To scream and cry and laugh on-screen, it’s almost like black magic. You can do anything. I’m a dreamer, so that’s a good job for me. Onstage is the only place I can fully express myself.

    “You’d be surprised.”

Felix froze. He wasn’t sure if the girl was just another ghost or if she was real, and it made him hesitate. When he heard the young woman scream, he ran without a second thought. He had to reach her, save her from whatever she was running from. She was real. Se was there and she needed help because she was real. The cold wind hit his bare arms and face with a higher intensity as he sped up. He was warned several times about situations like this, in such difficult times filled with murder and death, it was hard to trust anyone outside your family, let alone a stranger. Doubt stroke once more leaving the young medium unsure about if her cry for help was a real one or just an act to murder him and then hide his corpse in the woods. When he reached her, he finally noticed how her slender body waas covered in wounds. She was severely hurt, and Felix couldn’t give any other reaction but to look shocked. “What happened to you?” He wasn’t really expecting an answer, but he asked anyway. “I-I need to get you to a hospital or        somewhere!” There was just no way on Earth she was able to walk all the way to the hospita, not barefoot, not like that. Felix panicked, afraid that the girl would die because of his stupidity. “I need to carry you, okay?” He tried to calm down. “I need you to put your left arm around my shoulder so I can do it. You think you can do it?" 

When Lisbeth saw the stranger running towards her, she was able to take a moment to process the fact that she was still alive. She could finally breathe. Still, she couldn’t help but to fear the worst, eyes scanning the surrounding area as if James would appear out of nowhere and kill not only her, but the boy that was going out of his way to save her. Her body started to tremble more violently, eyes the size of the moon too terrified to even blink, racing back and forth like a baby lamb caught in the middle of a wolf pack. She wanted to scream out for the stranger again, but before she had the time to truly decide he was already there. As she was questioned she found it impossible to respond, but she was scared he would leave if she didn’t so she did her best to try. “H-He ki–… He’s g-going to kill me.” she cried, desperately crawling closer to him. Before he could finish speaking the word hospital her head was shaking, fighting to stay lifted. “No, please no. The freakshow. I want my mother, please take me to my mother!” tears were pouring down her cheeks at this point, tiny waterfalls forming on her cheeks. She nodded her head quickly, reaching her arm up towards him to he could hook it around his neck. “Thank you…” the last two words she had the strength to whisper.

“I was called a monster too      Several times” He started, regretting every word instantly. No one knew about this part of Dan’s life, he had tried to erase it from his memories one too many times, but it was always there, like if it was tattooed in his brain with ink that just wouldn’t fade away. “They would open me up, inject weird chemicals inside of me, took my blood & snatched my dignity away from me like I was some sort of animal”  For a moment, pain came back along with the memories, not only emotional but physical. Every single scar that those true monsters left on his body ached at the same time as he remembered the knife or the needle going through his skin. “I know how you feel” Dan never got the opportunity to be a father, but he figured it all should feel like he was feeling at the moment. Sure, Lisbeth was nowhere near to being his daughter, but she was Isobel’s daughter, and that was enough. “But you’re not a monster, Lisbeth. You’re a s u r v i v o r”

Lisbeth was surprised to hear Dan open up the way he did. No, she didn’t know the man but she could tell just by looking at him that he wasn’t the type to share the pages of his life story very often, even more so with crying strangers. But she knew exactly who he was in the show, and though normally the witch would feel invaded, there was comfort in his presence. “So many things out there that no one understands, but here we are, freaks of nature only because we were born with these special gifts or differences.” She sniffled quietly while her arms moved to wrap around her knees, hugging them closely to her chest, eyes falling back to the ground. She didn’t want to be the girl who cried about her past anymore; she wanted to embrace the fact that it made her a stronger person, but she couldn’t get her head around it. The memory of her ex lover alone made her stomach turn. “A survivor? A murderer. Most of those people were more brainwashed than I was. Innocent people under the control of evil. Thank you though, I greatly appreciate you taking the time to sit with me.”
