So your sorority doesn’t take beauty and legacy into account when they pick their pledges during rush? They have no futile and elitist values whatsoever? Is that what you’re saying? ‘Cause I’m pretty sure I’ve overheard some of these girls saying some poor girl would never make into ZBZ for one stupid reason or another. “The house of the pretty girls”, “the house of the future first ladies”? I’ve heard it all. Wouldn’t it be a bit better to be known as the house of the future presidents? Oh, wait, that would be the Omega Chis. The house with the rich white males… Oh wow. So much for experiencing new things…

Yeah, I’ve been in some places because of Ivy, it’s part of being in a relationship. I walk her to some of ZBZs weird gatherings and she goes to my board games meetings which I suspect she’s not that crazy about either. I do that because I care about her and appreciate her company. If anything that proves that I don’t judge people before I met them either. But I tend to judge them a lot afterwards and going to these parties have taught me a thing or two about the greek system and I’m still not impressed. Maybe concerned, definitely not impressed.

So you’re saying that escapism is your brand of journalism? That explains a lot, actually.

No, I am aware that the System is not perfect and have many flaws. I mean, it is ruled by people, of course that we will encounter flaws and different levels of corruption, but it is the same in many parts of the college, not only the Greek system. All the scientific projects judge based on merits too, just the standards are different. But at the same time dome sorority focus on beauty, there is others for sports, science.... you name it, you can find anything.

Excuse me? I prefer to think it is the house of the future ruler of the nation, please. I am pretty and smart, I am not running for a second lead.

No, I am saying that journalism is more than just report the truth, there is many different levels, many things to embrace and to talk about. People appreciate different perspectives. Some fun is part of life. Why are you so against it?

Ok, I can be a bit pretentious at times, I’ll give you that. But right now I’m just being reasonable, you’re the one who’s been blinded by your sorority’s discourse. Friends for life? Are you for real? So you’re saying you wouldn’t meet none of these people at campus? Or make other friends just as good as the ones you have thanks to your sorority? How many of these girls keep in touch after they leave college anyway? And most importantly, how many of these “friendships” aren’t based solely on career networking? Or how many of these “friendships” aren’t tainted by a good dosis of female rivalry? Doesn’t some of the events you have go directly against your supposedly feminist ideals?

I– I enjoy fun. I appreciate fun. I just have a very different idea of what fun really is. Intoxicated people forgetting their own names and screwing around is not really my type of fun. Quit the passive-aggressive attitude, Bones, it’s not cute. I never insulted your intelligence nor your writing. You’re pretty smart, I never stated otherwise. And I said you’re a decent writer, which last time I checked is not really an insult. I see the potential, I just think journalism is about information, about going where nobody else is willing to go, to talk about the issues of our time and by doing so give some food for thought and stimulate critical thinking. So yeah, your writing is engaging but does it say something? Is the run for the new ZBZ president really that important? Or popularity contests and who dated who?

I am not saying that everyone in ZBZ are my best friends or that I even like all the girls, but yes, some of the girls are my friends for life. And for that, I am glad and grateful. Can you say the same about your college friends? And is not that I have o prove something for you, but I do have friends outside the Greek. I don't judge people before I meet them, you know. Now you are talking a bunch of nonsense, at ZBZ we are very aware of the sexism of a few events, we don’t do a white wet shirt contest or anything like that. We have good party’s and that is all. And we also have a monthly charity vent as part of our schedule. Is more than just being pretty.... I am pretty sure some crazy party can accommodate your necessities of being always right, drinking some old coffee and talking about something really boring that happened ages ago, but isn’t college a time to experience new things? It is so terrible to try to blend in? I mean, have you being in a party like our before? I am pretty sure I have seen you around with Mars. Yes, my writing is giving people some joy, some relief from the exams and stressful lectures. Is a form of escape and it is healthy and fun. Are we not tired of being anxious and stressed? Can we not have something light and easy once in a while? Why everything need a deep meaning behind?

I know not all of the greek system members are assholes, but the system for itself reinforces old-fashioned values and prejudices that we as a society should have gotten ridden of a long time ago. It’s just… common sense. And your gossip column… uh, sorry, social column romanticizes and glamorizes that shitshow… for lack of a better word. It has nothing to do with “how to engage readers 101″, you’re a decent writer, people like your column, I get that. But you could be doing so much more with that.

I swear to God, I don’t now anyone more pedantic and pretentious like you. Get off your high horse, Peasegood. The person who is acting entitled and superior here is you. The system helps students to bond, help them to find friends for life, help them to cope with the stressing student life. Is not because you don’t have any fun bone in your body that other people cannot enjoy some fun. Ow, not only you insult my intelligent but also my writing. If I am part of the journal is because I am qualified for it and my social column matters, you liking it or not. You should take not of some of my advices, it can help you overcome you social disability. And what are you doing for a better world? The last time that I check, complaint didn't count.

Oh please, here we go again. The same old talk about the greek system, it sounds a lot like jealousy, you know that, right?! But I see your point, the Greek System is not perfect but also is not this whole demon that you like to paint. I really don’t see or understand what is your problem with my social articles at the newspaper. I know that my readers are an expressive number, maybe you should try to engage your readers too? Just a tip.
